Don't worry, I'm sure the O's will come back and tie the game up, only to see the Royals take the lead again and they'll trail by a run once again........

This isn't much fun at the moment. In two games, the O's starting pitchers have failed to get out of the 5th inning, and in 2 games the O's bullpen has failed it's mission at the worst possible moments. Both areas were strong points all season, but these playoffs are a horse of a different color. What can Buck do? He's putting his best people in and they are failing to do the job. Allowing 14 runs in 19 innings just isn't good enough. The O's are really putting themselves behind the 8-ball and winning 2 on the road in KC is suddenly a must and a very tough order. Yikes.:( -- Al

Not much to add there Al, except maybe the O's need to go on the road, I sometimes wonder when the home town has annointed the home team as a savior of sorts there is so much pressure to win there, I guess we will see, not giving up on the O's, maybe we can borrow a tune from the 79 Pirates and start playing "we are family" in the club house, time to break out the lucky drawers on Monday:)...Sammy

The Royals are like Jason or Freddie Krueger, you can't kill them. They haven't trailed once in this series and are now on a six game winning streak in the playoffs, up two zip heading home for three games.

Needless to say, game three is must win for the Orioles; if they lose, they are toast.

Hats off to the Royals, they might not lose again in 2014 at this rate.

Absolutely Al; AND, they're a young team too, built through the farm system, no big name free agents, so that's even more impressive.

I wish the Red Sox would do this, but the problem is the fans here are too impatient and won't let them go in the tank for a few years to let the young kids develop.......................

Same can be said about the Yankees dilemma...Michael

SF's unhittable post-season pitching continues unabated. Completely shut down the Cards to win Game 1. Am I watching a replay of the SF v Nats series? Pitching just can't get much better than what SF is doing. :salute:: -- Al

Great job last night by the starter and as usual, their bullpen was lights out; timely hitting along with a couple of errors/mental errors and the Giants won.

Still early in the process, but it looks like the Giants and Royals have it all working for them at the moment.

Another close game tonight but it seems that the SF pitcher Strickland has an unfortunate tendency towards gopher balls. He's been in 4 games this post-season, pitched 4.1 innings and given up 4 Hr's. Not a good ratio. I don't see how the Giants can afford to use him again. -- Al

Al:

You are spot on, this is the major leagues. If you put a pitch in a player’s wheel house he is going to drive it out. Every once in a while you can groove one and get away with it, but it is a game of averages and eventually those pitches will catch up with you.

Romo grooved that one to Wong too. Not the highest HR ever but you can tell by the speed in which the ball left the yard that Romo put that one in the wrong spot.

We have a series now, 1-1 heading back to SF.

-Jason

Looks like the Royals had mother nature save them from the Oriole come back:) oh well, we'll just start it tommorow instead!!...Sammy

Game 3 has started well for SF. 4-0 after 1 is nothing to sneeze at.:wink2: -- Al

I am hoping they hang on. The Cardinlas are dangerous from the 7th inning on.
Not dangerous enough, eh? Cards self destructed and the Giants are in the driver's seat. Up 2-1 looks pretty good. That wind was really blowing around today. Thought for a minute they were playing at the Stick.^&grin -- Al

Nothing going right for the O's. Can't blame the pitching tonight. I blame Karma. The ex-O's pitcher Jeremy Guthrie shut them down for 5 innings and then the KC bullpen finished the job. O's couldn't hit squat. Down 3 games to zip and it is all but finished. Score runs, don't score runs, pitch well, don't pitch well, nothing is working. Being beaten in all aspects. Sad. I hope the O's can win 1 or 2 so they don't get swept and have to live with that all winter.:( -- Al

Royals win again, 2-1, up 3 zip, they've won 7 in a row now, what a roll they are on.

That bullpen is money, whatever it takes to win, they get it done.

Buck had better find some answers asap, day game tomorrow.

Forget about channeling 1979 and we are family (besides, that was a Pirates thing, they beat the Orioles after being down 3-1), forget your lucky drawers; time to channel the 2004 Boston Red Sox, the only team in MLB history to come back from an 0-3 hole.

Best of luck with that one.

After seven wins in a row, you can't say it's a fluke.

What's the difference between four in a row or losing four out of five? None. You didn't meet your objective.

KC has been absolutely incredible. I didn't pay close enough attention to them and thought them the weakest team in the playoff field. I have to say that they have played the best of any team in October and regardless of who their opponent is, they have run them over. They are indeed a worthy team and I don't fancy the NL's representative's chances, be they SF or St. Loo. KC is simply playing over everyone's heads at this moment. -- Al

I think it is over.....for the Cardinals!

I am not going to say much about the O's, too many friends on here are pulling for them. I share their hope. I remember seeing an interview with a player from that 2004 Sox team (I can't remember who it was). They asked him how did they win for in a row? He answered that they did not see it as four in a row. They saw it as winning one game. The next day or night, winning one game and so on and so forth. Can the O's win four in a row? I am not sure but chances are they can win tomorrow.
