Baseball 2015 (3 Viewers)

Is it just me or does it seem like every year the Cardinals are one of the best teams in MLB? But once the playoffs come around they just can't get it done?

Maybe just perception. The Cards have won 2 WS since 2000, tied with the NYY's and just behind SF's and Boston's 3 titles each. Those 4 teams own 10 of the 15 titles since 2000. The rest of MLB has some catching up to do. -- Al

O's sweep the Sawx!!!! setting up the biggest series of the year against the evil Yanks with a 4 gamer at Camden Yards, 4 out man a sweep would be delicious about now!!! not seeing a sweep but hoping we take 3 at least, not sure exactly but I think with Wieters back in the line up the O's are 6 wins of of 7 games, just say'n...Sammy
O's lighting up the NYY's tonight. Lead 10-3 in the 6th. Looks like the O's are finally gonna reach .500 and be 3 games back. -- Al

Os now 7 wins of last 8 games. ^&grin Beat the hated Yankees last night! Chris

My mistake, I was thinking this was a 4 game series, but I'll take a 3 game sweep just as good^&grin^&grin...Sammy

Mad Max Scherzer flirted with history today. Went 6.1 innings of perfect ball before a broken bat bloop hit fell just out of the 2nd baseman's reach in the Nat's 4-0 win over the Brewers. Still, Max was dominating. Finished the complete game shutout with 16 K's, 1 BB, and the one bloop hit. This runs his season record to 7-5 with a 1.93 ERA and 113 K's in 93 innings. There was another beaut of a game today when the Pirates beat the Phillies 1-0 in 11 innings. Philly starter Hamels went 7 innings of shutout ball with 12 K's before giving way to the bullpen while Pirate starter AJ Burnett went 9 scoreless before leaving the game. Burnett is having a heck of a season so far with a 6-2 record and a brilliant 1.89 ERA. White Sox pitcher Chris Sale is on a tear. Over his last 7 starts he is 4-2 but the remarkable thing is the strikeout rate, 79 in 53.1 innings. He has fanned 12 or more in each of his last 4 starts and 10 or more in 6 of the 7 starts. -- Al

Os beat Boston 5-2 with a very nice diving catch by Jones. First win at home this yr for Chen. Os are 5-1 in last six games. ^&grin Chris
Chen threw a real beaut tonight. 8 innings of 4 hit shutout ball over the Phillies, K'ing 9 in the process. Britton closed out for the 4-0 win. Can't get over how well Chin has pitched this season. O's over .500 at last. ^&cool -- Al

The Times is reporting that the Cardinals are being investigated because they apparently hacked the Astos network.

Thanks for the update; with the Red Sox season officially in the toilet, I can't tell you how it warms my heart that the O's are heating up and streaking up the standings in the AL East.

Awesome.

No, check that; wonderful.

George, just trying to distract myself from the Nationals less-than-stellar showing so far this season.{sm2} -- Al

And it will be compared to Spygate/Deflategate in 3, 2, 1..................you know, those two massive scandals by New England as the Cheatriots went on their way to four super bowl titles.

It will be interesting to see how this is perceived though.

So of all teams, why the AAAstros, I don't get it..............the Dodgers, Braves, Giants, Nationals I can see, but why them?

Doesn't change my opinion that they are the best organization in baseball for the past ten years running.

See; I can say that without flipping out and saying "What a Cardinal sin, so THAT'S how they did it all these years."

Why; because I'm not some jealous basement dwelling yahoo....................

Raining Hr's in B-more. O's have 5 after 3 and lead 12-0. Going out on a limb here, but I think Tillman and the O's can put this one in the books. The new call-up, Parmalee, is batting 1.000 with a single and a Hr. -- Al

O's continue to have one of those games. Hr count up to 7 after the 6th and the lead is 17-3. Parmalee is 4-4 with 2 Hr's. Machado also has 2 Hr's. -- Al

O's break thier record with 8 Homers!!!!!!!! 19-3 win and a game closer to first place...Sammy

Nats had a big offensive night, winning 16-4 with 23 hits. Harper had #22 to go with his 3-3 with a walk night. His OBP is up to .481 and his SLG is .735. Maybe the Nats can figure a way to do this more often than once a month.:rolleyes2: -- Al
