Baseball 2015 (2 Viewers)

What is with the Nats and the hiring of ex-Giants for managers?
Jason, I don't know for sure, and I can't prove it, but I think the Nats are working their way up to stealing Bruce Bochy.{eek3}:rolleyes2: -- Al

This reminds me of Torres first Yankee team vs the mighty Braves. No one expected the Yanks to compete with what was considered the best pitching staff in baseball and after going down 0 games to 2 ( after a 14-1 bowout ), it looked like the better team was a shoo in. History showed differently, and if the Mets have any grit, they can beat the Royals and make their own new history. The best teams do not always win out..Michael

That's really swell to see MFY fans pulling for the Mets, I'm sure Mets fans everywhere appreciate it.

Then again, when your team has won one WS title in 15 years and hasn't had a sniff of a WS in six years, you'll hop aboard the Mets bandwagon, who can blame you.

Saw the 30 for 30 on the Steinbrenners and the new Yankee Stadium; you know, the palace Hal and his sister built with the 5.00 obstructed view seats in the outfield and the 85.00 hot dogs.

That Hal looks like a real firecracker, won't be long before he brings another championship to da Bronx; put a mirror under his nose to see if he's still breathing while your at it.

Meanwhile, back to the WS and the Mets; good luck winning 4 out of the next 5 vs the Royals.....................

Thanks for bringing up that painful memory! Braves haven't been the same since. Hopefully they will get back on track once the new stadium opens in 2017.

The MFY's were toast in game three too, down to their last gasp, then that hobo Leyritz hit the home run and whole series turned around.

They are famous for one swings; Bucky @#$%ing Dent, Aaron blow out my knee and force the MFY's into trading for ARoid Boone and Jim journeyman Leyritz....................

My son was a huge fan of the Cox led Braves, growing up during the glory years of those Maddux and Jones teams. They had great, but ultimately flawed teams. 20 years with 14 playoff appearances, yet only the one WS title. Drove my son nuts to see such success go largely unrewarded. Yet he was there, believing and rooting for them year after year. He finally moved on once Maddux, Jones, and Cox all retired. He was in from day one with those Cox teams and stayed until the last. -- Al

Ill never forget the Braves game three collapse against the (MF) Yankess. I recall a sense of foreboding that the Braves wouldnt recover from that debacle. Indeed they coudlnt....

The Braves had a great run in the 90s but their lack of WS victories looms large over that legacy. Al, your son had lots of company, me among them.

Bobby Cox is still around town. I recently saw him at a Longhorns along with a number of his grandchildren.

Im not anti Freddy but he has to deliver the goods and they have so shaken up the lineup its hard to get a feel for them.

I saw a picture earlier today of Citi Field ( I tried to copy and paste it, but was unable to for some reason); there are two huge plexiglass enclosed sections with additional seats to the left and right of home plate.

I bet the fans who have front row seats along the field and now have to look at that are just livid over this.

Sorry Brad, I know you're Mets fan #1 around here, but what a tacky, hayseed, bush league move, talk about greed.

If a pop up lands in either of those sections and impacts the score pro Royals and anti Mets, it will be a disasta.................................

Well, I stand corrected; this is MLB's idea, it's not for Mets fans, it's for baseball so and so's.

Has nothing to do with the Mets; anyway, the former front row fans really got a raw deal here...................

Basically, the team -- any team -- loses control of its field in the playoffs. They also set the ticket prices, which is why they are so expensive. I don't know if that happens with the NFL but I imagine so.

Brad

The Mets lead didn't last long and, once again, the Met's pitcher hasn't been sharp. Bad trend. Still early though. -- Al

It looks cold and windy there, not exactly baseball weather, but it's almost November, so what did you expect...........

Glad to see Syndergaard settled down and the Mets bats came alive. -- Al

Great win all around tonight. Noah showed the way for the others. Fantastic way to start the game with a purpose pitch. Just keep doing that. Move them off the plate ^&cool

The first win is the toughest, now they just need to take it one game at a time.

Syndergaard just said "That's my plate out there, not theirs." I love the attitude.

Those American League crybabies started whining about the first pitch. Noah responded if you have a problem with me, meet me 60 feet 6 inches away. If they had a problem, well Syndergaard had a few ABs where they could have buzzed him. Game on. Coronation over. This is going to be a war.
