He's the perfect DH; man can he mash. You, me and everyone who's ever played baseball knows a kid like him who could mash but couldn't field if you put a gun to his head. Right field was always a good place to stash a kid like him; only problem is this isn't Little League...............hopefully, he'll figure it out.................

HA!!!!!!!!!!!! About fell out of the chair George!! my little league team (yes the Red Sox!!) had a guy as big as Poppi and could hit the local hay barn if he got a good swing on the ball, but the running joke was if you were put in right field coach was trying to tell you nicely you couldn't field!!
I liked your suggestion of 2 DH hitters!!

Nats win streak ended in Philly as the Phillies got to closer Papelbon with 2 in the bottom of the 10th to win 3-2. Nats had gone ahead 2-1 in the top of the 10th on Harper's 6th Hr of the season ( his 4th consecutive game with a Hr). Gonzalez had another fine start, 7 IP, 1 run, but got an ND. He now has 2 ND's in his 2 starts even though he has yielded only 1 run in his 13 innings. Nats now have 9 QS in 11 games. -- Al

The Giants are just about where I thought they would be at this point. The pitching looks good on every level, starters, middle relief and closer but the bats are streaky at best.
One addition I really like is Denard Span. He is one of those batters that makes a pitcher earn the out.

Jason, Span was the guy that made the Nats offense go. He is a very good lead-off hitter and a terrific CF. I still don't know why he was allowed to walk. I think the Nats were worried about his health but the guy they got to replace him has been on the DL since Opening Day. Go figure. I wish Span the best in SF. He was a good teammate too. -- Al

I used to think the replay was an ok thing. Now, after sitting through a truck-load of replays 11 games into the season, and 3 in 2 innings in tonight's Nats game, I'm all for dumping the replay and handing the game back to the umps, completely. The protests are taking too long and completely disrupting the flow of the game. -- Al

Now, after sitting through a truck-load of replays 11 games into the season, and 3 in 2 innings in tonight's Nats game, I'm all for dumping the replay and handing the game back to the umps, completely. The protests are taking too long and completely disrupting the flow of the game.
But what is the call reversed percentage? I would like to see enough numbers to say that is has or has not helped to get an umpire's mistake corrected..Michael

I know I am in the minority but I look at it this way, if a replay call hurts the Giants I hate the replay system, if a replay call helps the Giants I love the replay system and think it is a great idea.

I love the O's Manny Machado and no doubt about his talents but man the cheer leading celebration with all the hands with one of his homies after hitting a HR is getting a little annoying, it looks more like 2 little girls playing Patty cake, patty cake bakers man then grown men, here's a thought how's about acting like you been here and it's the big leagues, not the Bowie Baysox, nothing wrong with good fun excitement about a good play, but a 20 min. rehearsed patty cake I can live without, now come on O's we need some runs!!!...Sammy

His at-bats are now "must-see" each and every time. He can flat out crush the ball.
My regret at the Nats letting Zimm go via FA continues to grow as Zimm continues his outstanding start to the 2016 season. In his 3rd start tonight, he went 6.1 innings and allowed 0 runs, again. He is now 3-0 on the season with an ERA of 0.00. Detroit got a steal of a deal to this point. -- Al
Arrieta just no-hit Cinncy and won 16-0. He's now 4-0 with a 0.87 ERA. Good thing for the Cubs that the O's didn't need him.:rolleyes2: He is off to another great season. He has given up 3 runs in his 4 starts, all in one game. In the other 3 games, he has allowed 7 total hits in 24 innings, and 0 runs. His run since the 2015 All-Star game is historic and unprecedented. He is 18-1 since that break, pitching 139.1 innings, while allowing 72 hits, and has an ERA of 0.77 in those 19 games.
