So tonight with a win at the nouveau toilet vs the MFY's and the Orioles with a win over the Jays, the Red Sox will clinch the AL East.

After burping and farting along all year long, they've put it together in the month of September, ripping off 11 wins in a row.

So..............................let's go Sox and......................LET'S GO O'S!!! (good God I got sick just typing that last part.........:wink2:................)................

The bleeping playoffs better get started while the Nats still have a team to put on the field. They're falling like autumn leaves. Strasburg is out with a bad elbow; Harper (starting RF) is out with a bad thumb; Murphy (team MVP) is out with a strained butt muscle and last night the starting catcher, Wilson Ramos (was having a career year) injured his right knee and is out. The end of the regular season is killing us. -- Al

Al, very tough break for the Nats: losing Ramos for the season and Strasburg for at least the NLDS.

The loss of Ramos is going to be tough to overcome. He was our defensive rock and was having a career year on offense. We might overcome the loss of Strasburg, but Ramos is a bigger loss. Hopefully, both Harper and Murphy will be back soon. This regular season can't end soon enough. -- Al

Cardinals, Giants and Mets all won last night. This is going to probably come down to the wire and the weekend series with the Dodgers at the Giants, Mets at the Phillies and the Pirates at the Cards.

Right now Giants and Mets are basically tied with Cards on game behind.

Kim saved the O's from themselves tonight with a PH 2-run HR in the 9th to win the game 3-2. O's retain the 2nd WC slot for another day. Whew! 4 games to go and the roller-coaster is still full speed ahead.^&grin -- Al

And with that, the Red Sox clinched the AL East........................as I waited to watch the celebration on the nouveau toilet lawn, Kimbrel blows a 3-0 lead and the corpse of horseface hits a game wining grand slam, the MFY's win the game and delay the celebration until the Red Sox got into the clubhouse.

Talk about bizarre...................................but, we is the champs...........................

Aw, c'mon, let him have a little satisfaction. Nothing worse than seeing the opposition celebrate on your field. I've seen it too many times.

This way you both get something.

No celebration on the field, they doused the visiting team locker room with champagne and beer, I hope the smell lasts for a year....................the sweet smell of VICTORY!!.......................

Congrats on winning the division.

Best,

O's with another huge win tonight, beating Toronto 4-0 and now tied with Toronto for the 1st WC slot. O's have been hot since getting swept by the Red Sox, winning 5 of 6, right when they had to win. 2 of the wins belong to Miley and Jimenez, erstwhile worst pitchers in baseball. Go figure. Jimenez has found his groove at just the right time and tonight's win was a beaut, 6.2 innings of 1-hit shutout ball. If Jimenez had pitched like this for even half a season, the O's wouldn't be sweating these last games. On to NY for the last 3 games and to decide who gets the WC's. -- Al

Thanks...............with the Orioles win last night, the Red Sox clinch the division; with an Orioles win tonight, it's officially YED.

HAPPY YED EVERYONE!!!

Cards lucked out last night and Reds got hosed. Cardinals won the game on a ball that bounced over the wall. As the winning run was on 1st, the run shouldn't have counted but Reds took a whopping 34 seconds to challenge and by that time the umpires left the field.

Let's hope this doesn't affect the Mets. It shouldn't as they control their destiny but could affect the Giants.

The only team with a realistic chance of catching the Blue Jays or the Os are the Tigers who are 1 out in the Loss column with 4 to play. Seattle are 2 out but with 3 to play, I think that's too much. However, Blue Jays are playing the Red Sox, who would like home field; they're 2 behind the Rangers. I don't know if the Yankees wish to play spoiler is enough to put a crimp in the Os playoff plans.

If I were a manager and I still had my challenge available at the end of a game that resulted in a walk-off lose, I would automatically and instantaneously use that challenge.
