The same would apply in Australia I'm guessing as it would in NZ. He effectively 'disarmed' him, therefore removed the immediate threat. Had he then shot him then that would have made an interesting court case.

Media quickly stated Ahmed had no experience with fire-arms, yet it's been reported he was a Syrian police officer before emigrating to Australia.

He displaced enormous courage and self discipline by 'disarming' the 'father' singlehandedly and smarts to place the shotgun against the tree while signaling his actions to others to avoid being shot himself by approaching police.

Sadly both Ahmed and a elderly male supporter were both shot by the son who was covering his Father from the walkway.

An interesting fact that was revealed yesterday was that this was the second time the 'Father' had been disarmed at the scene.

Dash-cam footage has emerged of a husband and wife confronting the 'Father' as he exits his ISIS flagged up vehicle parked next to the now infamous pedestrian over-bridge. Seeing what was about to unfold as the 'Father' pulls another 'long' out of his car, the husband managers to wrestle the weapon from him, a fight occurs, however the pair fall onto the road and the 'Father' is able to remove yet another shotgun from his vehicle and as footage shows murders both the husband and wife.

Both their bodies who appear to be hugging each other can be seen in the raw drone footage at the start of the shooting........

So the Jewish celebration happens every year. Yet no armed police at the site (you can hear the police sirens coming from far away in the videos) even though antisemitic attacks are on the increase in Australia, as is the case in this country. There is a place for dignified, peaceful protest — but there is never a place for Australian blood to be spilled in our own country in the name of defending foreign governments, foreign conflicts, or so-called foreign policies. Australians should never pay that price. Australian flags should never be burnt or disrespected on Australian soil.
My heart feels so heavy and hurts so badly for the innocent lives that continue to be destroyed because of the need to make others comply to fanatic minority factions.

An innocent 10 year old Australian child was riddled with bullets of hatred and I simply can’t understand how her death and the many other Australians who died around her makes those ideologies mean more?
Australians are, at their core, good people. We always have been. We have endured droughts, fires, floods,
pandemics, and relentless adversity — and every time, it’s ordinary Australians who show up, help each other, and hold the line. Community, resilience, and fairness are in our DNA.

But something fundamental is being stripped away.
It is time to reposition — not against each other, but for ourselves. As Australians who want Australia to remain safe, free, and grounded in common sense. Australians who refuse to be overrun, controlled, or smothered and protect what actually matters.
This is not a debate.
This is not an invitation for opinions, excuses, or justifications.
This is grief.
This is rage.
This is exhaustion.
Enough hatred.

Thank you - this is a great and simple point. The victims here continue to be Jewish people as I said. Typically, it is Muslim or Arab terror that is directed toward them. (Christians also are always the victim). That is exactly what NEEDS to be said OUT LOUD! As I said before, one particular religion - MUSLIM - seems to be hell bent on the destruction of all others. It is really not a hard concept to grasp, ye there is too much worry of offending that group.

Of course it is not all Muslims, but end of day, the terror is coming from that direction (and continues to do so).

To me, and I believe most Australians see this as an attack on Australians first, the everyday Australian doesn't think in terms of 'Jewish', 'Muslim', my god has better toys than your god or any such rot! As long as I can remember it has been a never-ending pointless drama in the Mid east and will never end. Frankly I couldn't care less about Israel or Palestine, but unfortunately it grows like a virus. Both sides are wrong and I condemn both.
