Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (4 Viewers)

According to the poll, "How Do You Display Your Collection?" in General Toy Soldier Discussion section, the majority of respondents display their figures on shelves.

Actually I intended for the 'shelf option' to be without any sort of diorama arrangement, such as just a row of tanks or figures. However I soon realised the poll lost something in the translation :) Never mind, I like your set-up.

... Is that some frontline napoleonics that I can see sitting under them?:D
Sharp eyes. Yes, the next shelf down is all Frontline Napoleonics, though I have only displayed 10% of my sets.:)

Great stuff Steve,
you think Andy will ever revisit this line?
Ray
Both Frontline and Conte have an extensive range of matte Zulu War figures in 1/32 scale, so I personally doubt that K&C would put resources into this theme.:(

Great display Steven. One of my favorite moments of history.

It 1/30 scale from Formtech/K&C from a while back. There Normandy Village series.

I spun a few molds of my 54mm Napoleonic Russian Grenadiers the other day and tonite I painted one of the 12 poses I have.
Not a perfect paint job but it was kind of a rush job just to see what one looked like.
Heres the result.Fairly pleased with meeself actually making molds and spinning figures after all these years of buying them!

12 Grenadiers including command, 4 different interchangeable heads, another 4 interchangeable heads with Mitre caps, 4 with Musketeer Shako,
x 5 foot artillerymen and a 12 pounder coming pretty quick.

Just kits for now and I havent made the production molds for them .Tackling that starting tomorrow.

Barzo resin style of the same figures after I get the metals done.

It's a one man operation so it'll take a little time but I hope to bring some to OTSN.

Wanted an 1812 WAR AND PEACE collection and theres simply very few { hardly any } 1812 Russians out there so I took it upon myself.

Sculpted by Aaron Brown of Alpha miniatures.

I plan on adding greatcoats to all the poses as well. We'll see how well I can sculpt big bulky coats on these!

Heres another shot of a batch I assembled for my own collection.I just have parts molds for now, but I had to assemble a small unit. Now I just have to paint them.Ugh.

Nice Fubar. Could you show us a pic of the process sometime, including the molds and raw material etc. I think it would be of interest to us guys that haven't yet made our own.

Earlier I recall you said you may be getting a plastic injection machine or similar, did that go ahead, and how does the process compare to metal.

Fubar, those guys you made look really good. The paint job on the first two pictures is superior. It is very apparent to me that you really love this hobby and that it is a true passion for you. Good for you, good for us too cause we get to see the final results and don't have to do the hard development work.
I guess I am a little jealous because my talents at such things is limited compared to you. What fun you must have.

Wow! That is cool one of our own members is making his own soldiers. Great stuff Harold.

Those look great fubar!!!!!! can,t wait till you start making enough that you feel you can part with a few.:p It looks like you might need to make a bigger base for the flag bearer, does he tip over without the extra added piece to the base? I can,t wait till you have enough of these painted to do one of your great dioramas. Keep us posted on your progress and I too like ozzdigger would like to know more about how you go about doing this. It looks like it must be alot of work and without anyone willing to help you out it must be quite a learning experience. I know how my first atemps at molding lead soldiers went:p I got 2 molds to try it and it went very bad. If I did manage to get a whole figure it had so munch flashing that I just gave up. Now all I mould in lead is sinkers and jigs for my fishing trips.:D

If you ask me, that's a pretty good job Harold. Very impressed.

Harold: Nice job on your original figures. You must be really getting the hang of it. Impressed with painting and your casting. Now put the family to work on production line so you have a hundred sets for Chicago. John
