My sons and I have fun trying to find the Whisky Advocate's top 20 picks of Bourbon, Irish Whisky and Scotch each yr. Just found this one today after searching 4 stores. The Blender's Select a little more difficult to find. Haven't tried it yet but it's number 4 on the current list. Most of the WA picks are very good but there are a few forgettables IMO. Cheers Chris

I did a little buying yesterday! Sazerac Rye, James Pepper 1776 Bourbon, Elijah Small Batch, Michters Black label and rounded it off with an Oceans Vodka(I liked the shape of the bottle). Of course, had to get cherries for the Old Fashioned (cherries are not cheap!). Anyhow, had a Sazerac Old Fashioned Last night, quite tasty.

TD[/QUOte Tom, I'm partial to an Old Forester 100 proof old fashion. Will have to try the Sazerac version. Chris

While at CostCo today I bought a bottle of Basil Hayden bourbon which I haven't purchased in a very long time. I'm enjoying a glass of it as I write this. I had forgotten how delightful this libation is.

Last night enjoyed Rebel Yell 10 year. I keep this and Buffalo in quantity when I can find it. It is probably the best 10 year on the market when you can find it at issue price and a lot of times, if you read the bottling, it is actually older than 10 years. I just can't say enough about it. New finds this weekend - added another bottle of Buffalo to the stash and bought Bardstown Fusion. I have not tried this one so looking forward to it.

This thread has encouraged me to branch out in my taste for bourbon beyond my go to choice of Woodford Reserve. Lately when I have the opportunity I have been purchasing bourbons that I either haven't had in a very long time, or bourbons that are totally new to me. Yesterday I purchased a bottle of Jefferson's Reserve small batch bourbon. This is a new one for me. I'm enjoying a pour of it right now and it is quite good. Very satisfied with this one and will be purchasing it again.

Just opened another new bourbon for me, Elijah Craig small batch 94 proof. I am very impressed with this one.

Bought a bottle of Angel's Envy at Costco this afternoon. Bourbon that's been aged in port wine casks. I believe I have discovered a new favorite bourbon. Very delightful. I now have a small bourbon collection from 7 distilleries. Cheers 🥃

How much was it for 750 ml bottle?

After 30 years in the US I have never tried Bourbon...Still sticking to my French roots with Armagnac and Cognac. This thread is telling me that I may be missing something!

Had a nice glass of James Pepper 100 proof last night. Great sidekick for the show Berlin Station on Epix. I had heard a lot about this one. $35 for probably the smoothest 100 I have had. I am a fan.

Hey Mike, I think you have several "favorite" bourbons. :salute::

One of my favorites, Wild Turkey Master's Keep, is being released next month. It's a limited release of 10-20 yr old bourbons selected from the center and upper floors of the rickhouses and 104 proof. I don't normally drink a blended bourbon but this is goooood. It's a little pricey but I try to get a bottle once a yr. Chris

Chris, you are lucky in where you live!!!! I am jealous, Maryland has a crappy distribution. I am currently in hot pursuit of Robinsons' Brewery, they are the English group that brews the Iron Maiden Trooper beers. Now, you may laugh, but honestly, best beer range I have had in some time. Trooper is the tradtional English Brown, excellent and Sun and Steel is the light crisp "saki" type lager. I am currently tracking down Fear of the Dark Stout and am in talks with local distributor and retailer to special order. In all seriousness it feels like I am in a serious negotiation!!!!!!! Buying beer should not be this hard. (Starting to remind me of MD gun laws.................:)

😂🤣 It's certainly starting to seem that way . . . Maybe it's a COVID thing. Going for another run today in search of Maker's Mark Private Select and 1792 Sweat Wheat. Cheers 🥃🥃

Hadn't heard of Trooper Tom and doubt I can find it here. I pretty much stick to German beers, usually Dunkel's, since living there for 6 yrs. The exception is Natty Boh. I pick up a case when I go east to have with crabs and oysters. :smile2: Friends here, also from Baltimore, and wife and I FEDEX some crabs every yr for a crab feast. Chris

Picked this one up yesterday, it's very good and superior to the normal Four Roses. About $56 a bottle and was the #3 pick in Whiskey Advocate a couple of yrs ago I think.

Thought I would post a couple of pics of some of my Bourbon collection. Collected these over the yrs and not sure when they'll be opened. Maybe they'll have a heck of a wake when I'm gone. ^&grin

Weller is a good Bourbon, but not great IMO. But it's normally hard to find, especially the 12 yr old. A couple of bottles were gifts from friends. I bought the Old Rip Van Winkles thru a local Bourbon club for $65 a bottle. Saw it online for $1,000 retail.

A few whiskey's in the mix.

And then there's the Scotch collection.... :smile2: Chris
