Bourbon Lovers (3 Viewers)

I had an interesting tasting weekend. Friday - Rare JW Pepper bottle (not the one you can find, some type of Reserve). It was very "heat" oriented. Not bad, glad I am not the one who bought it!

Last night enjoyed an old favorite, cracked a new bottle of Knob Creek 9 100 proof. Really a good Bourbon for the money.

Both sons visited for Mother's Day and we went to Jim Beam Distillery later in the week. And as Tom said Knob Creek 9 is a very good bourbon for the money. We got our bottles personalized (our thumb prints on the wax stoppers).

Chris, I envy your close proximity to so many fine distilleries and the ability to acquire bourbons that just don't make it up here in Wisconsin. Oh well, we have breweries, wineries and cheese makers here. Have you ever tried a merlot old fashioned with a beer chaser? . . . Me neither 😂🤣

Oddly enough, Weller is hard to find here in Kentucky although distilled about 30 minutes from my home. My youngest son gave me a bottle of the 12 yr old which is even more difficult to find.

Finally completed the weller 6 pack this past year due to "declining" speculative pricing! Now, I just have to have the courage to open the Single Barrell and the CYOP. (I have had both previously out) but have never owned the bottles. BTW, I like the 12year the best out of them all.

Tom, you have the Weller Antique (another hard to find here)? I have one but not opened it yet although I've tasted it a couple of times. Agreed the 12 yr is very good.

Yup on Antique too. Of all the ones I had had previously, I found the Create Weller the best. That was at a work retreat, we were having cigars and my colleague wanted bourbon, we looked on the shelf at the bar and had to do a double take. It was their only and last bottle, we ended up finishing it!
