Britain's Zulu War (3 Viewers)

Beautiful pictures, Martyn,
and with your "soon to be" you might be right. Seems that the Britains matte AZW series is a great seller.

Scott, Martyn,

Kudos to both of you,

Great poses, great set ups, really nice shots.

Very professional photography skills, I wish I could take such good shots.

Got to agree Michael and it's always fun to see what both Martyn and Scott come up with.....The Lt.

Another snapshot of life in camp. Cook must be out of range, probably hacking at some great big side of beef. :D or maybe he is pouring soup on the other boilers :D

Great pictures Scott

I don't collect items representing this era but these figures are really well detailed and the hand to hand fighting poses appeal more to me than the figures firing at more distant Zulus - doesn't seem sporting you know.

Not having any new goodies I thought I mix a little Conte and Frontline with my Brit figures and share them in a different light....The Lt.

I'm going to have to agree with this comment.

The hand to hand shots are the most interesting by far.

The variety of poses give so much leverage to different shots.

Much of this battle was close quarters fighting and the poses offered give a lot of leighway for shots.

Very nice pictures Joe. I really enjoy all the pics that have been shown that were done with a sepia tone to them. I also like the visual comparison these pics provide between WB, Conte, and Frontline. It appears that all three manufacturer's product lines go nicely together. Certainly something that I will consider in the future once I have caught up with all the WB AZW sets.

Waiting on the other 2 sets to arrive. The one I do have is very well done and am not surprised at all that these have all sold out from WB.

I think Conte fits in better with the new WB Mike, some of the frontline are a bit smaller and more toy like (IMO).

Excellent shots Lt! I really have to get around to takeing more photos myself.

Waiting for new arrivals here also LT

I can not remember a time that I have been so impatient and excited for new figure arrivals. I am also waiting on a DVD copy of Zulu Dawn that I just ordered from Amazon.Com along with the book "Rorke's Drift 1879: Pinned Like Rats in a Hole". In the meantime I keep rearranging my two h2h sets in front of the hospital and watching the DVD Zulu. :D

Gotta agree with all the others Joe, excellent pictures. Almost feel sorry for the Zulu at the end of the bayonet, almost:D

Cheers

Thanks Mike, in view of recent over the top reactions from some members I was reluctant to post my viewpoint as a non collector of the range in case it was seen by some as being deliberately provocative. I know there are a few members that argue that if you don't collect a range you shouldn't discuss it, well I don't own any sports cars but I sure like to talk about them :)

I wonder if more attention to the close in hand to hand combat featured in this and similar battles would attract more collectors to the range. I feel they add more drama to displays and I guess you wouldn't need to buy as many figures for the scene to look realistic if the action was more confined which may encourage newbies to dabble in the range. And when we dabble once - we tend to dabble a lot.

The point you make is one of the main reasons that attracted me recently to WB Zulu and also the WB Defense of Hougoumont ranges. The action of both are more confined and coupled with the attention to detail that the new WB figures have it equals a definate "must have" for me.

Was just browsing the ModelZone website last night and I accidently bought the Cold Steel set. Ooooooooooooooops :D:D:D
