College Football - 2014 (2 Viewers)

In the same spirit of Arizona's upset of Oregon, I predict UMd Terps will beat Ohio State in College Park tomorrow. Why yes, I am crazy. Why do you ask?:rolleyes2: -- Al
Alse, my prediction falls far short as the "Not ready for prime time" Terps got crushed. Perhaps we'll do better next week. -- Al

If they scored 4 or 5 more touchdowns, they could have pulled it out....................

They should've made ND and Stanford wear leather helmets for this game. Brutal. The Stanford QB has thrown 24 passes for 80 yards.

Little known fact: Wisconsin has not won in Evanston in this century! The 'Cats play strong and beat the Badgers 20-14. We overcame our slow start with wins over Penn State and Wisconsin...the Gophers are up next (and I'll get to be there to make sure they win).

If Wisconsin had a quarterback they would be amazing. Yikes! Four interceptions?? As it is, you can give up yards on the ground but they will never be consistent.

What a brutal weekend for LA teams. The Bruins and Trojans get upset at home in the final seconds. The Dodgers and Angels drop three of four playoff games. At least hockey season is starting soon.

Great weekend, Miss State, wife's school, is for real and thumped A&M and Kentucky, now 4-1 (after two 2-10 seasons) whips SC. MD tanks as expected, told someone I wouldn't watch the Terps in a blow out. Now, if Miss State can beat Auburn next week...:smile2: Chris

Even though the game has been over for close to 24 hours now, I am pretty sure that as I am typing this Brett Hundley just got sacked again by Utah.

Some huge matchups of top ranked teams this weekend. The picks:

Auburn 33 Miss. St. 30 - tough road game for Auburn. Could go either way.

Ole Miss 30 Texas A&M 20 - coming off a huge win against Bama might mean a let down. And Ole Miss is on the road. Double trouble.

Oregon 44 UCLA 38 - both teams had crushing losses last week. I can't see the Ducks dropping two in a row.

Baylor 48 TCU 41 - this might be a wild game that decides the dark horse team for the final four playoff.

USC 31 Arizona 17 - the Trojans coming off a crushing hail mary loss. Zona coming off a major upset of the Ducks. I see SC coming out fired up and the Cats get upset.

Miss State beats Auburn by 15. They beat the #2, 6, and 8 teams. I may be the only Miss State fan on the Forum but I think they deserve #1. Go Bulldogs! Chris

Waiting for the U. of Arizona Wildcats to take on USC tonite in Tucson, if the Cats can pull this one off then they are legit top 10, Bear down Cats!!!...Sammy

That turned into a great game. SC managed to hold on with a little help from the AZ kicker. Looks like Utah is the big dog now.

ANd Miss State is #1 in the latest AP Poll. Bulldog fans everywhere should enjoy the ride while it lasts! :smile2: Chris

Disclaimer - I am a Nole Fan first and foremost.

BUT, I disagree with the rankings. In the words of the greatest showman of all time, Ric Flair, "To be the Man, you gotta Beat the Man". Miss St. is one of the top teams in the country, no doubt, but they beat the revolving #2 team, how does that justify #1? I am a believer that you are #1 until you are knocked off, regardless being beat by #2 or #122.

We are finally coming to a playoff which will eliminate the rankings issues in the end.

Another infamous saying , this time Al Davis, doesn't matter how you win or who you beat, the bottom line is "Just Win Baby" and whoever does that will end up the National Champ this year.

Absolutely, the playoffs will finally resolve all the doubt from past seasons (Penn State undefeated and not end of season champs, etc). Miss State still has a long road ahead thru Alabama, Ol Miss, a resurgent Kentucky, etc. I'm just glad a small school like Miss State can have a moment of glory. Also think the pollsters were tired of the FSU drama and liked an underdog to vote for #1. A lot of SEC votes went into that as well. Finally, Miss State beat #2, 6 and 8. Don't know how many ranked teams FSU have beaten so far.
At this point, a FSU-MSU championship game would be fun to watch. Maybe............ :smile2: Chris

I agree with you 100%.

Let’s see if it is a two-way street? If the ‘Noles beat Notre Dame this week they should move back to #1 since Mississippi State has a bye.

Both of you guys make good points. The off field drama with FSU is irritating and I even as a fan am sick of "Famous". He is more of a distraction, finally had a reasonable game against Syracuse, but not the superstar of past and a lot of that obvoiusly has to do with missing a very good number of other superstars. All of that said, I unfortunately am lacking confidence this week against Notre Dame, they are not only very very lucky, but FSU has never had great games against them no matter what the talent ratio. If I was a bettor, I would pick the Irish this weekend. As a fan, have to go with the Noles!

FSU is going to curb stomp the Irish. ND's success has come from playing the majority of games at home against teams that are struggling. Add in the phantom calls they get at home when the game is on the line (roughing the snapper last weekend - a call I've never seen before). None of that is going to happen this week. They should get rolled by three or more TDs. They will then blame the loss on a dirty FSU program which is not unfounded.

Notre Dame also relies on outdated rivalry games against has-beens to boost their strength of schedule. Exhibit A would be Michigan.
