Creating The Battle of Rorke's Drift (1 Viewer)

The fighting continues with the hand to hand fighting slowly but surely starting to take it's toll.

Once again The 24th is defending the hospital as the Zulu press on...The Lt.

What a really great thread this is.
keep 'em coming LT.

I've got some Zulu stuff myself. Last year I bought the Britains Rorke's drift set and hospital add on. I enjoy adding new stuff to it from Britains, Tropy and Little Legion now and again but It's nowhere in the same league as your excellent collection.

Thanks Easy for your comments. I've also acquired the following sets which now have been discontinued Sets 1 & 2 of Holding The Line, 2 of the 6 Piece Zulu Set , their Zulu Firing Set, Gatling Gun and Figure Set along with The British Character Set and Durnfords Last Stand. It's pretty much what they had to offer along with their Set of Rorke's Drift which I've decided to pass on. The Drift shows two burnt out buildings which include the Hospital and Storehouse and only one wagon with half figures placed in certin surroundings which can't be used any place other than in the set. Overall they are fine in the scale they were produced in. Found the Zulu Shield two small along with the figures although pleased with the poses. Found the 24th like wise in size and not meeting the standard in the sizes of either Trophy or Little Legion. Through the forum I understand they are coming out with a Zulu War Series line with a matte finish and hopefully the scale will be similar to their other matte lines. It's about mid afternoon in your neck of the woods and hope your days going well. The Brit figures will be appearing along with others in future photos........The Lt.

To The Lt.

I just want let you know how much I enjoy viewing your pictures of Creating The Battle of Rorke's Drift. :)
Thank you for the fine pictures.

Looks real good. Are any of those figures conversions? There are so many with different positions.

Nick

99.9% Are regular figures none being converted. I"ve found that taking figures from various sets and posing and showing them in different battle scenes give the impression they are many more than what's on hand.

It sure does work well. Makes the scene very interesting.

Thanks Nick and Chuck I enjoying creating the various battle scenes and photos and it keeps me from getting into trouble. EAZY talked about his Britians Set of Rorke's Drift and I fed back some info on some of the sets I've acquired and yes a few from TreeFrog so thought I'd send along a photo of my favorite set "Durnfords Last Stand" I added the boxes and barrels in the wagon for a little touch.

Thought I'd give the Heros of The Drift a lull in the battle and send along their photos while they rested.

Your wonderful photos make me yearn for K&C level of quality glossy Victorian figures. I wish Andy would make some of his series in glossy like he used to back in the 1990's. Some of the last glossy sets K&C made in 1996, like the final action pose Seaforths, the late issue glossy bands, the Palio Standard Bearers and the 'Les Miserables' figures were really great.

Continuing with the "Hero's of The Drift"

In all a total of 11 Victoria Cross were awarded at Rorke's Drift
