"DEGUELLO!" The Fall of the Alamo (1 Viewer)

Absolutely outstanding Bob and absolutely the best installment so far. The artillery explosion is just amazing and as Randy said its worth the price of admission by itself! I am going to hate to see this story end, but alas . . end it must. You sir have certainly helped us to Remeber the Alamo!!

Mike

Oooooooh,

I think we can get 4 or 5 more chapters out of this.:D:D:D

Outstanding young man, outstanding!

Great narrative (as if you'd come up with anything less ). The explosion rocks! Biggest and baddest to date.

And excellent choice of well placement, exactly where I suggested, if I recall correctly. :p

Thanks Reb!

Simon

When sin claps his mighty wings and soars above the carnage,

OH, who hath caused this?

I hope that sums it up. Each picture as it comes up is viewed with trepidation that this one shall be the last one. Ant then, unfortunately it is:(

Jolly well met old son!:):)

I wish my history professors could teach history this well, I might actually know a little something about the subject!:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Magnifico mate. I have nearly run out of superlatives but these chapters keep upping the ante. La explosión era una obra de arte severa. A right fine bit of tinkering ole sod, right fine indeed.:cool::cool:

Bob, I have to say it was well worth the wait; this just has to be among one of the best photos on the forum of late.

Guys

Thanks again for all your kind comments much appreciated-it is indeed entering the last twenty minutes of the battle-So to both Mikes I'll try and squeeze a few more chapters out such as:-
Bowie's death
the ladies hiding in the baptistry
Galba Fuqua's message to Susannah Dickinson that he was unable to deliver
Robert Evans-the Alamo's Ordnance chief and his attempt to blow up the Alamo's magazine (he didn't manage it unlike Duke Wayne)
the flight of a few over the palisade wall
Crockett's death or execution?
but at 10 frames per chapter that might be pushing it a bit -
unless of course I construct a few alternative endings-All suggestions welcomed :D

UKReb oustanding your Alamo pics remind me of the McArdle painting's.
they have that same intensity.

Reb,

I always enjoy your diodramas - ACW, FIW, whatever.
I honestly think this is your best effort yet. Haven't had time for more than a quick skim through it all - but am looking forward to spending at least an entire week going through each and every photo, beginning around next Sunday morning.
It'll be far better than the stuff on Chinese TV or even ESPN Sport or even HBO.
In between times - I'll have a few new displays to sort out. :):)

Thanks
H

Bob

Simply Great - Always enjoyable to see and read - Thank you so Much !

I suppose it's too late for the 82nd airborne to come to the rescue.

ED did you ever read the Alamo paperback book which had a platoon of GI's going back intime to help out at the Alamo

Yes, I did, they originally suceeded, but someone convinced the Mexican's to attack again after the mercenaries left and the Mexican's won.

What a mess. What a mess my Alamo diorama looks compared to yours.:) Excellent work.

Thanks Alex-but do not forget you led the way and if I too had constructed a static Alamo dio to the measurements you worked to I really couldn't have improved on your shelf masterpiece;)
