East coast storm (2 Viewers)

I think we have about 7-10 inches on the ground right now - its hard to tell, with the wind I have a 2-3 foot drift on one side of my driveway, and a completely clear path on the other side!^&confuse

Ended up with 3-4" and now it is clear as a bell and very sunny along with being very cold. Wind chill has air temp at 0 here at 8am. Think I'll be staying in today.:wink2: -- Al

I don't think we got more than 4 inches. Not snowing here anymore but everything is closed. However, today will be bitterly cold, mostly due to the wind chill I think.

Worried about pipes freezing.

Brad

To day is Jan. 3rd. Here in Florida it is 30 degrees, but sunny. Our family in the New England States is getting hard hit. Good luck to all in this massive snow storm.

Brad, make sure any exposed pipes are wrapped, even if you have a towel anything will help, and keep a small stream
of warm water flowing in all faucets throughout the day and night to keep the water flowing, always worked for me when I lived back East...Sammy

Been there before Sammy. There's only three pipes really worried about. Two are for the washer and kitchen sink. Ran the washer last night and had the sink going.

It's about 14 here in Chester but the wind chill brings it down. Can you imagine playing ball in this weather. Saints are definitely screwed as probably are the 49ers.

My hometown Rockport, Mass The harbor breakwater before and during the storm.

Halifax is getting hammered right now.Snow started last night and it`s still snowing. They just have taken the buses off the road now, with the wind chill it`s -28.Snow they are saying plus 30cm.Love the winter.
Cheers
Staying warm.
Dave

Come on, suck it up! The windchill for Eyota is predicted to be -52 on Sunday night (with an air temp of -25). Now THAT'S cold!!

We'd take some of your snow, though. Barely enough for the snowmobilers up here!

Exactly, Padre! It's winter in North America. It's supposed to be cold and snow. We've gotten spoiled by a couple of mild winters.

Oh, and we got about 6 inches, from last night's snowfall. It's a very dry, light snow, blowing and drifting now.

Prost!
Brad

The weather here in the East is rather strange today. When I woke up, it was in the 50s but is now plummeting and by this evening is expected to be back in the teens, with a low of 5 in the wee hours.

Here in the South Western suburbs of Chicago it is - 43 w/ the wind chill...blowing snow also...fun stuff...Everybody stay warm...! I should be getting my TGM Winter Hetzer delivered soon , seems fitting for the weather !

Joe

Hard for us easterners to complain with weather like that Joe. With all the crazy weather most of the US is having, I keep thinking back to the movie The Day After Tomorrow {eek3}

You have to supply your own drum role for this Johnny Carson joke:

"Last night, it was so cold, the flashers in New York were only describing themselves."

Sounds like my home town of Tappahannock Va is going to get a big snow whilst I have the ac on :(...Sammy

Yeah, we're getting buried with that white crud and frigid air. One would think it's winter or something.:rolleyes2: Got a few inches already and it's supposed to keep snowing for another 8/9 hours. Now, when is Opening Day?:wink2: -- Al

Here in Arlington, VA we have several inches as well. If we weren't expecting -10 wind chill I would say I need to create a winter diorama in the snow. Not sure if I am that die-hard!

We've got six inches on the ground already, expecting 12. Better now than Super Bowl Sunday.:wink2:
