Euro 2012 (2 Viewers)

Congratualtions to Italy, very exciting match. Should be a great final.

Guess Germany doesn't have to worry about playing Spain now, except in Brasil in 2014 :rolleyes2:

Great game by both teams!!!

Germany the only team to win all the way to the last three teams without PK Final!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The youngest team as well...I could go on about ALL the records this year but let us give Italy their due.....and besides...everyone knows already.

ITALY won without a PK ......loser deal!!!!!!!

THE BEST...Now GO ITALIA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>YES!!!!!!!!!!!! You have Germany behind you..

SPAIN AND ITALY....please no PK ............some one try and score a goal...please.......;){sm4}

Des is a richtiger Anschiss! Oh well, congrats to the Italians, they were overpowering.

You bet ya!!

They played well scored two goals and won legitimately without the PK luck shots that show nothing about how the teams really played.

Great year for Germany and good luck to Italy.

If Spain plays like they did against Portugal....Adios Amigo's.

nothing wrong with penalties at all. Joachim got his tactics wrong and team selection they were rubbish in the first half and, you cannot win a game by playing 45 mins. the players were there to beat Italy but, were not used to get at them from the start. they were the best team up until then by far but, got it all wrong

looks like the match fixing scandel is italy's saviour again. Expect another match fixing issue just prior to the world cup.

unless spain adopt a plan b for breaking down tough defences instead of just trying to play through them italy will win this tournament.

Italy was really awesome. The match was excellent, open fast attacking football from both teams. I liked that Italy always passed the ball around with a lot of control but also with an eye on goal. They should have finished the game off in the second half though, they just should not have missed those sitters. Germany didn't do very well, especially defensively (the goals were relatively soft, although spectacular: BALOTELLI fantastic!), but still gave us some wonderful spectacular attacking moments, they are a tremendous team regardless of last night. Italy is really Germany's bogey team, 8 losses out 8 at the World or Euro cup finals, and this since 1970 at least!{eek3}A pulsating match from both teams, worth watching.
Spain v. Italy was one of the best matches of the group fase, but somehow I feel that they won't play that open in the final...

SPAIN & ITALY

great game, I'm spanish, but my mother is italian surname of an ancestor

My guess is that we'll see Spain return to the striker-less scheme that we mostly saw until Portugal. I think Del Bosque let himself be talked into adding a striker but the one he added was out of sync with the rest of the team, which is why they were much better in the last part of the second half and extra time.

I would expect a match similar to what we saw between them a few weeks ago. However, Italy played a better match overall. I'm not sure how much either team change after five matches a piece.

Well that's just dandy isn't it, now I don't know who to support in final! I have very good friends who support Spain and Italy, but my grandfather on my mums side was Italian, and their national dish is my own personal national dish!! ^&grin Bloody football!!!^&grin:wink2:

I would have been happy had Germany, Italy or England gotten to the final match, but now that it is indeed Italy, all I can say is;

ITALIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am with you on this George!! Let the team that got there by actually scoring and winning during the game without PK slide by....take home the trophy!!

GO ITALY..

good luck Spain!!!

Here's an interesting article from the Times' Goal blog, Is Spain Boring? or Is It You?, http://goal.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/27/is-spain-boring-or-is-it-you/#more-67199

Brad,

Thank you for the link to this well written and balanced article on the Del Bosque way. Spain has made it to the final with this strategy, so it can't be all that wrong. I am still not sure if Del Bosque is an inspired genius thinking out of the box or a manager trapped in an ex-defender's mindset.

The NY Times soccer blog has some excellent write-ups. The Iniesta article was very good too. Unfortunately, I can't read the blog in depth as I get a flash message politely asking me to subscribe to the NY Times.

I shall try watch the final live 3.00am kick off my local time.

Raymond:)

BTW.....Le Tour starts today.

Two zip Spain 40 minutes in, totally dominating the match.

They'll play keep away now for 50 minutes and win the thing.

Nice run Italy..................

Congrats Spain...

George my friend!! I just got in and see that apparently Spain won 4-0. At least they won without a PK. Unfortunately they got there with PK. Now all you at Kromprinz do not take offense you are fast becoming my favorite toy soldier maker.

George where are my KP's?????????????????

Congrats to Spain....complete domination. Congrats to Italy for making the final....still surprised they beat Germany to advance, but Spain made a statement today....again. Just an incredible team.

Joe

Great game and match, obviously. Unprecedented three titles in a row. They will be the favorites -- and deservedly so -- for the 2014 World Cup. Sheer domination and beating one of the best keepers in the world -- Buffon. Of course the best is Iker :wink2:

With this third title, they are -- although I am prejudiced -- making a claim to one of the great teams of all time.

Congrats to Spain and Brad, enjoy your well deserved victory!{bravo}}
