This is my first post.........I ordered and received 5 of these Flak 41 88mm
(BBG035). Opened the first box and found the front plate broken off from the gun unit! Has anyone found this with their BBG035?

Opened the second and found the same thing AND the gunner was broken off from the unit.

Wants going on here?? It appears the unit was not protected for shipment from HK.

I suggest you contact your dealer and/or K & C. They have excellent customer service and I'm sure can rectify things to your satisfaction.

My Order from my dealer has not been filled yet, Because of the same problems. They are just waiting for K&C To send them the replacements. I have read from someone in this forum, the reason might be is because K&C added protection, And because of it. Some pieces are breaking off ( maybe the packing material, Is making it too tight).

I received my Flak 41 88mm just after Christmas, broken:

- right part of the gun broken off
- gunner broken off from the gun
- gun base broken off in three parts

I get contact with K&C (very kind) and they answer me that the factory is producing extra sets BBG035 for replacements but it will not available until Feb.
The coming replacements will not have the original color box, thus K&C request to keep the box of your damaged set if you would like to have a complete package for the item.

It seems that they are a lot of sets broken.

Sincerely

Lasalle

I put up a thread about how superb this gun was but, that the packing in three layers, may have been to well packed (a remarkable irony) I think to protect this large piece K&C went over what was really needed and the packing seems to have been the issue. Most of the bits I have heard off are not as serious as yours but, K&C are redoing them so, thats better than sending them back and getting your money back.

I have never gotten mine, And the box is really cool!! ( saw it someplace in the forum), It costing two hundred dollars, and it not having the color box is a real dissapointment. And not up to what I expect From K&C.

Templer...

If you have not recieved one as your was broken at the dealer then when the dealer sends the stuff back etc then he should by the sound of it keep the picture box for when K&C send out the remade versions. When you do get one this will still be in the original box unbroken ones were. As I read the post

I have to agree, If it comes with a different colored box. that is okay. but on a generic Blank white box. That will be a total dissapointment. the original plan was, that this was a Christmas gift to myself. And that failed. Not Up to K&C standards at all. And have K&C to be in a new light, for me and others.

Not sure where this information is coming from; any broken 88's will be replaced by K & C, so no worries there.

Their plan is to send the replacements in generic white boxes, so dealers are asked to put the replacements in the nice colored boxes is all.

So, the nice boxes will be used to put the undamaged 88's in.

No worries collectors, you will get the original boxes, hope this clears things up.................

Mine came with the gunner broken off as well and one of the gear boxes.....my great dealer offered to replace it in a heartbeat (our dealers are great are they not?) however I found it to be a very very easy fix. The gunner was broken off clean and some superglue on the pegs and he was back in place without any problem. Gear box went on and required a smidge of touch up paint and everything looks great. Sure did beat the heck out of shipping it back....waiting for a replacement for something that was an easy "do it yourself" repair.

This will be an interesting piece on the resale market in a few years!;)

Not sure of that. At 199,00$, it is extremely expensive. How to hope for a profit? Look at WS103, it was a total fiasco (still available after more than two years) and it was a 88 gun, mounted + five figures, for only 239,00$. The failiure of that item on the market is a real mystery for me as it was one of the greatest set ever released by K&C, IMO.

I'm Glad I decided to pass on this one....Not impressed with it's appearance in the first place and with the price at $372 with figures I would not bet on much profit margins for resale on secondary markets....Hopefully that strategy is not in the game plan for most purchasers.....However,Sorry some of you guys have had problems with breakage issues..Usually this is not a big problem for K/C products...I'm sure they will be resolved to satisfaction

Hey Frank, must agree there, I never purchase for resale value, I buy it purely because I like the look of it. For me thats the joy of the hobby, buying items that you would just like to have in your collection and on display. The only resale will be when I'm gone and the wife is selling it, hopefully I'll be looking down and saying in a ghostly voice 'Sell the Winter Tiger, sell the Winter Tiger' !!:D;)

Hey Rob, maybe when you go to the beyond and look down at your collection that you worked so hard to complete, there is another man there enjoying it. Oh wait a minute if that happens you may be looking UP at your collection!:)
