football season is here!!!!!!!!!! (2 Viewers)

John,

That is beyond cool!! You have a Yankees World Series Ring and a Giants Superbowl Ring as well?!!:cool::cool::cool::cool:

I would love to, but frankly, Toy Soldier collecting is expensive enough!!:p:D

Louis I wish!

I do keep an eye on the sports memoribilia auctions, and shops and perk up

whenever rings become available. They are usually ones given to support

staff or issued by the office. Thurman Munson's wife did auction off quite a

bit of his items a little while ago including several World Series Rings.

As long as the money goes to the family, or charity I suppose its OK.

My son in law is a Packer Fan so I have supplied him with several Brett Favre

items that he keeps in his office.

The bat pictured in my last post sold for $348 on auction it was a store

model not game used. Its vintage was unknown but it was thought to be from

his time period.

You can pick up original 1940's Era "Endorsed" Lou Gehrig Bats for $595.

An autographed game used bat is big bucks. A Lou Gehrig 1923 sidewritten

rookie bat brought $125,000 in a private sale in 2001.

Mayor Rudy paid $16,000 for his 4 rings from championship years 1996-2000.

Rings are all over the place depending on who owned them

$15K - $150K:eek:

Here are examples of a 1936, 1958, and 1978.

... The Giants, Cowboys and Eagles are all talented enough to win it all.
"...The Redskins potentially have the ability to be the Norton of the division. You fall asleep against these guys or Norton, and he's going to break your jaw....":cool::D:D

As I indicated, I think the Division, from top to bottom are playoff caliber teams, and anyone in the Division can beat anyone, especially, as you say, if the opponent falls asleep.

I just don't think the Redskins are quite talented enough to go all the way.

I assume you don't mean Ed Norton :D
Gee I don't know, maybe you should ask Ken that:eek::rolleyes: By the way, when you say you are a Giants fan, it this your team?

Unlike baseball where I only root for the Mets and am passionate about them, in football I root for both the Giants and Jets. I'm not as crazed about football as baseball. I noticed you root for the Skins. I went to George Washington University in the late 60s/early 70s and used to follow them closely in the days of Sonny Jurgenson and Billy Kilmer.

The Skins were my second team until they moved up after the unseemly and nefarious "midnight" desertion of the Colts to that "other state". In retrospect, it was a good time from that to happen. I really enjoyed the Gibbs era, with the Squirmin German, the Diesel, the Quiet Man, the Fun Bunch and the Hogs. We have had some high points since then but nothing to match the character of those earlier rosters. Coming from behind the hard way used to be a Redskin hallmark, which they have done twice now in three games; so we shall see.;)

I am just thankfull I grew up a Giants fan! If I were a Jets fan I would have to take up heavy drinking. Have you ever seen a worse performance than tonights debacle against the Bolts?!!

Just End The Suffering is right!

Well Sammy - after last Saturdays FSU game against Wake - I am going to watch sidelines more often !

This is a GO NOLES PHOTO ! :D

I just wonder how many more losses before Brett retires again?

I remember him saying he was no longer enjoying the pressure of having to

figure out how to win every week when he was still with GB.
