OUCH !

:D ;) :D ;)

Someone Had GATOR TAIL !

ouch is right!!!!! well i guess usc wasn't the only team looking past to the following week, but it's still a long season yet, and i believe we gators still have a fighting chance.......sammy

Tim Tyler was very upset. He wasn't sure which was worse: The Gators losing or the South losing the Civil War. I kid you not.

I don't want to make too much of this and jinx them but the Skins' takedown of number 1 rated Dallas on their home field was not too shabby.:D Maybe we have finally found the right Coach for this era.

When was the last time neither of these teams was ranked in the top 25 in the same season? Bowden has lost his fastball, he needs some skill players at the key offensive positions.

That said, always nice to see Miami lose.................

two terrible losses in a row for my baltimore ravens:(:eek: we give the steelers a gift wrapped fumble to win the game monday, then we can't find away to keep our lead in the second half against the titans:mad:, if we dont find away to score more then 1 touchdown a game it looks like a long season again for the raven defense :(:(:(:(...sammy

Whoa, another comeback win on the road against a so called superior opponent; dare I have hope for the burgundy and gold.:eek::D:D I do like this coach, the Skins of old won this way as well.;):D

As I indicated, I think the Division, from top to bottom are playoff caliber teams, and anyone in the Division can beat anyone, especially, as you say, if the opponent falls asleep.

I just don't think the Redskins are quite talented enough to go all the way.

Looks like I was wrong! It would seem that the Eagles are the team that is just not quite as good, and the Giants, Redskins and Cowboys are the playoff contenders . . . at least this week!:p

Guys,

As a Giants fan, he hasn't effected my team at all, but in my opinion, Referee Ed Hockulie needs to be fired immediately. He has missed an important penalty call or made a glaring bad call that has changed the outcome of the game in every game he ref'd this year!!:eek::eek:

In the San Diego - Denver game he (the closest individual to the quarterback) was literally the only human being in the stadium who didn't know that the Denver quarterback had fumbled with less than a minute left, costing San Diego the game. When the review clearly demonstrated it was a fumble, he claimed he couldn't change the bad call, because he admittedly incorrectly had blown the whistle (that is the rule on a bad call where the whistle is blown, but that doesn't make the horribly bad call any less egregious).

He admitted to blowing a key call last week as well.

Most recently, in the game I am presently watching, he missed an obvious 15 yard facemask that caused a fumble (a ten point turn around), then called a ball that hit the ground a completed pass (reversed on review) and then called a fumble that was returned the other way to the 20 yard line down by contact, and after every single commentator on replay agreed that the ball was clearly a fumble, upheld the play on replay, with the wierdest explanation I have ever heard, that while the ball was coming loose before the runners knee hit the ground, he still had control with his finger tips!!! That was a least a six point turn around. The man is either blind, incompetent, or totally bought and paid for by the bookies.

The officiating in football is disgraceful, and this incompetent needs to go.:mad:

I agree that there are some blind officials in the nfl right now, how in the hell did that ref call a blow to the head in the raven-titan game that basically kept the game alive for the titans when they should have been punting is beyond me:mad::mad: and the titans had even jumped offsides on the same play so the play should have been blown dead to start with, i sure hope we get a payback call next week because the refs costs my ravens a victory.......sammy

The Refs are having a terrible year. The one Ref Ed Hochuli (who made two

errors) is a real nice honest guy. He is an attorney and he answers each and

every message the fans send him, no matter what they say!

You have to respect a man like that, that takes the heat, and responds.

I sent him a note after the Quarterback infraction that called back a

touchdown. My note was terse, not abusive, though I did suggest he get his

eyes checked.

Here is his response:

"John – I'm going to be in the fishbowl all year, and every call that the pundits don't like will be scrutinized. I know that and can live with it. But FYI:

The roughing the passer call was the correct call. You can't always believe what you hear from the announcers or read in the papers – I'm sure you know that. The rule is clear that when the defender hits the QB in the helmet, or with his helmet, it's a foul, regardless of what part of the body makes initial contact. This was face mask to face mask which is clearly spelled out as a foul for roughing the passer. I know as a fan, you don't like to see it – and I sure didn't like taking a touchdown away on the 3rd play of the game, but if I don't call that, I get graded down for missing the call.

You know I admit my mistakes – the Charger's game is proof of that. The roughing the passer foul was not a mistake, though. The League has already graded it correctly. "

I have to Respect a man like that, everyone makes mistakes........wel almos

Yeah, Oklahoma, Mizzou and LSU all lost. That's some beating taken by the top 5, especially considering that Texas (#5) was playing Oklahoma (#1) and Alabama (#2) had a bye. I have always believed the polls are stupid, as is the BCS system. The "experts" consistently get it wrong week in and week out. The only reason they don't switch to a playoff system is the TV and Bowl money, pure and simple. The NCAA is the worst institution in the United States in my opinion (and that's saying siomething). The NCAA schools, officials and coaches make billions, the "student athletes" are all paid under the table by the boosters, but college football is allegedly an amateur sport. What a joke. Why don't they just drop the pretense that these are students, let colleges have minor league football teams to develop players for the NFL, and pay the players?

I'm with you, Louis, about NCAA football, the ranking system, and I'll go one step further-the bowl system. I agree, the NCAA should drop the remaining pretense of "scholar athletes", and put together a more objective system of ranking and seeding teams into a schedule, that leads to a clear championship. But it will never happen, you're right, because those schools who get the most money out of the current system, along with the sponsors, make too much money and would never consent to a change, that might change how much money they make.

Baseball is so much better....

My USC team is still hanging around. They played god awful yesterday, but still won 28-0. They will move up into the top 5 this week and hope for some more upsets.

It is indeed week by week. I always think that if they have a good day, almost any team in the NFL can beat any other team. Oh the shame of losing to the Rams:eek::D Well there is always next week.;)

That's why an undefeated season is such a unique occurrence. Only the '73 Dolphins have pulled if off in NFL History. Alot of incredibly good teams which probably would have whipped that Miami team are 15-1 (85 Bears, 88 Forty Niners) or 14-2 (86 Giants) thanks to fluky losses. You have to be a great team, land a relatively easy schedule, and have the ball bounce your way to go undefeated.

Its only week 6, and only two teams (Giants in the NFC, Titans in the AFC) remain undefeated.

Go Iggles! That was winning ugly, if ever I saw it! To lose the lead on a fluke play at the very end of the first half, and then, the defense really didn't show up until the 4th quarter. O'Sullivan had lots of time to run and pick his targets, but it was sweet to see the Birds finally getting through to him. Now at least they hit their bye week at .500, instead of 2-4.
