football season is here!!!!!!!!!! (2 Viewers)

and then there was only one...(as the giants laid a golden egg tonite against the browns) now can tenneessee win 11 more in a row??? sammy

Yeah,

That was an ugly game. The defense looked horrid, and Eli looked like the Eli from last year's Vikings game. But frankly, I am not worried. The Giants played flat, about as bad as a team can play, and if Eli doesn't throw the pick-6 in the Browns end zone, the Giants are within 6 with 8 minutes to play.

Now I know you are a half full kind of person.;):D It was Bradshaw's column, he said about the only thing as absurd as the Redskins losing to the Rams would be the Giants losing to Cleveland. I am happy that we didn't lose any more ground.

I was listening to Boomer on WFAN in New York today and he said that last week he saw this as a difficult game since many of the Browns players, having gotten off to a bad start, might be playing for their professional life.

Althought they played miserably, throwing the INT when they were driving to make it 27-21 definitely was a killer.

A glorious football weekend!!!!!!!! my ravens stomped the dolphins, my az. wildcats beat up on cal last nite, and my terps of maryland beat wake forrest, nothing like a triple win weekend to start a new week....sammy

So the Skins squeaked out another one (against those pesky Giant killers;)) as the Cowboys continue to self distruct. This is not a bad season so far.:D

oh my, another great weekend in football, ravens killed the raiders and the gators and terps both won!!!! where you at ron haven't heard from you in awhile:D:D:D...sammy

oh Ron, don't you start thinking past my terps just yet, or your seminoles might end up like some of those other acc teams Maryland has already beaten, I do think that it is going to be a very close game though, your team will come up just a little short this time around, FEAR THE TURTLE!!!!!!!!!!!....Sammy

The Giants won the first of four straight games against tough playoff caliber teams (the Steelers). If they can win three of these four games, they will be in fantastic shape. There next test is against the Cowboys next week, although, as beat up as the Cowboys are with injuries, it is not the rematch of the Divisional Playoff game I think football fans have been looking forward to since the schedule came out.

I was watching when it was 14-9 but then had to leave for awhile and came back when it was 14-14. Darn! Did see that nice TD pass to Kevin Boss however. When they were down 14-9, it didn't look good so you have to give them credit for coming back. They mentioned on the radio today that the Cowboys brass wasn't happy with Brad Johnson at QB and that they might go with Brooks Bollinger instead next week. Not exactly Roger Staubach there:eek:

I'll say one thing, though. The Giants play calling through the first three quarters was abysmal. Run, Run, throw on third and long. Kick field goal:confused:. You can not run on the Steelers defense. It was only in the fourth quarter when they went to the play action that the exposed the Steelers - their secondary and pass rush were non-existent. By the way, on the Boss touchdown pass, did you see the slobber-knocker block Brandon Jacobs laid on the blitzing linebacker? It was brutal!!

Another great week for the Skins. Still out scoring their opponents and winning in the 4th Quarter. Also they are winning their games by less than 7 points, controlling the ball on the ground but striking with some big plays in the air and on special teams. All these characteristics were shared by the great teams past in this franschise so who can say.

Still have to get past the BIG DAWGS !

Woof Woof !

Well Ron it didn't take long to get past those big dawgs this year!! Florida should have won by even more, and what happened to those Seminoles??not the rambling wreck of Georgia Tech??

but as far as the n.f.l. i need your washington redskins to beat the steelers monday so my ravens can move into first with a win over cleveland tommorow....Sammy

My BCS championship bowl prediction....Florida vs. Alabama, I'm sure Texas tech will fall somewhere but look at the difference in the strength of schedule Florida has over Texas Tech, and Alabama barely got by LSU tonite in ot, so when it's all said and done the gators will be national champs, and my wildcats of Arizona became bowl eligible tonite with a win over washington st. now if my ravens can win tommorow in Houston it will be a perfect weekend!!!!!!!!!....Sammy

I'm not sure it's possible for two teams from the same conference to play in the BCS championship. They would have to play in the SEC championship game first - so one of those teams ends the season with a loss. My prediction is Florida and Texas.

your right combat i forgot they both play in the sec conference, so i'll go with florida and texas, and of course the gators win easily:D:D:D..sammy

We have some good NFL games to watch today!! Giants vs. Eagles is always a great rivalry. Both teams play good old fashioned smash mouth football, both have great defenses, top notch running games and good quarterbacks, so tonight should be a fun game to watch. If the Giants can pull this one out, they will have a two game lead over their closest divisional rival (Redskins) plus the tiebreaker.
