A little eclectic this week as some joy flew into Tasmania. Cold Steel Miniatures are great value reasonable quality figures from Chester in the UK. They focus on the Napoleonic Peninsular campaign and it got me watching those old episodes from the Sharpe series. The prices excluding VAT are great and in less than a week I have 5 Empress Dragoons and 4 French infantry. Having not purchased from this manufacturer before I will certainly be back for more. Some of the British infantry look rather good and at prices that can't be beat.
I continue to chip away at the K&C Pike and Musket range with two more mounted Roundhead troopers while one of the stray JJD El Cid range figures made it in just in time for the weekend. It is a splendid mounted figure and well worth the wait.

Great additions Gary! I really like those Napoleonics. It's the first time that I recall seeing this company.

Thanks Rob. Its only an old Coolpics camera that I use. One day I will get my hands on something decent, I need to smile sweetly at my wife or stop buying so many toy soldiers! I try to take photos I can use in articles I write for Toy Soldier Collector Magazine (the latest issue has one on the Zulu War I submitted sometime ago). I have just drafted one on the Conquest of the Aztec Empire by the Conquistadors and am about to start one on the English Civil War. The publishers have around 30 articles from me on all periods of history at the moment and the editor chooses if and when to use any of my humble offerings.Hi Gary,

The Normans are the best. I wasn’t going to collect them but so glad I didMore from the parcels
A small parcel of Team Miniatures French Algerian Zouaves and a Yank Spanish/American War Gatling gun flew into Tassie on Friday. Really nice figures as I have come to expect from TM. They are fast becoming my new favourite figures, although John Jenkins is still remaining poll position but only just!
