Glossies painted by Beating Retreat (1 Viewer)

Congratulations, Louis.
Two wonderful figures coming your way.
Like others, I always appreciate the facial impressions that John is able to achieve with his painting.

I couldn't agree more Konrad. John's faces are alive. I only hope he decides he'd like to do some more WWI or WWII air war figures for me.

Those guys have great expressions, especially the mechanic. Gotta love the porcelain look the gloss varnish imparts- very appealing. Are these New Hope Design figures? The bases suggest so.

My thought, too, Mike.

Thanks, Louis and Brad for making these photos available to us, too!

Prost!

Hi Guys

Thanks for the great comments, really enjoyed painting this pair.
Mike, yes they are New Hope figures.
Louis, Yes no problem painting more figures for you.

Kindest Regards John

Hi Louis,

My gosh! Those figures are beautifully painted! Congratulations on a wonderful addition to your collection and my compliments to John for once again demonstrating his incredible talent!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

These figures arrived safely today, and they are even more impressive in person.^&cool^&cool I have them displayed with a Heco Tinplate Fokker DVII. Thanks again, John! Oh, and I would love some RAF or RFC ground crew, or USAAC Bomber Crew, if you can find the casting to paint, and the time to paint them for me.:wink2:

It was a pleasure Louis, glad you like them, I will try my best to find more figures for you. And thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Regards John

Hi John,

I heard a rumor about a Durbar Mounted Herald/Trumpeter do we get to see some photos?

Dave

Hi Dave,

I heard the same rumor, but I think the figure is in another person's possession. It is true that John painted it, but the rumor indicates only a single painted figure was commissioned and it is no longer in John's possession. The photos you request will have to come from a different source.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Hi Pat,

I know how busy you get so I didnt want to pester you with a lot of photo requests. Also I figured since he painted it he would have at least one photo of his work.

Dave

Hi Dave,

Look at frames 212 and 213 in "The British Empire" thread. You will find the photos for which you are looking in those frames. It is a spectacular piece. Unfortunately, no photos can really do justice to its real beauty or to the exquisite detailing. It is a phenomenal figure! Enjoy!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Hi Dave

Sorry I did not take a pic of this one, Konrad takes much better photos than I do. Perhaps you should request a pic from the new owner{sm4}{sm4}

Regards John

Here are my photos from the figure in question :smile2:

Well Done!!!

John

John,

Just a quick note to join the chorus of comments regarding your work---it is absolutley outstanding! Your Superior Gloss finish is second to none.
