And here's a shot of the Heco Tinplate Models Hawker Hurricane and some additional castings:

Thanks Al. John informed me that the diorama will be on a 4 ft x 18 inch base made up in 4 sections, and, in addition to the figures and the Heco Hawker Hurricane, there will be a Yoemanry Models Mobile Canteen, 1/32 scale Mountford models bofors gun, and a figure of my Uncle Joe (who died flying a B17 from Snetterton Heath airfield). I am so excited to see the finished product!:smile2:

John and I are working on a WW I era project that is in its planning stages.

Louis,

Your new project looks great. Can't was to see it.

Brad

Louis,
that project sounds like it will become a real treat {bravo}}
Thanks for posting the previews and revealing the subject idea.

Thank you Konrad! I would never have even thought to ask John to make the diorama if it had not have been for you!:smile2:

If it wasn't for Konrad, I probably wouldn't have asked John about doing something :smile2:

John was kind enough to send me some additional progress photos of the RAF Airfield Diorama he is making for me. First, a couple of shots of the figure he made of my Uncle, Tech Sergeant Joseph Amana, who was killed in action on May 5, 1944 as a member of the crew of the B17 Rikki Tikki Tavi, in the course of a raid to bomb Berlin (tragically he had completed more than 20 missions and was very close to the end of his tour):

Some shots of the RAF Ground Crew, an RAF Pilot feeding his dog a cookie, and a mobile canteen John painted for the diorama:

Another photo. The RAF Policeman with the German Shepherd is a figure of John Firth himself, who was an RAF Policeman for 22 years, with his favorite Police Dog, Thor. The USAAC Bomber Crewman walking alongside the building towards the figure of John is a portrait figure John did from photographs I sent him of my Uncle Joe:
