I don't care too much if the scale is off a bit, but I also don't understand why it is so difficult to make it accurate or why the scale tends to vary from tank to tank. Just divide the actual size by 30 and make it that size.

Hay, somebody else (like me) deals in black and white issues too. Too bad the world is full of grey.:p:)

The Jagdpanther is shorter and lower overall but I have to admit the decks look close in most pics of the actual vehicles. Well, I'm ok with admitting when I'm wrong but as I have neither model I'd want to see pictures of them together (with a standard 1/30 size K & C figure) before I got to carried away ;)

Btw, I have seen the Summer Panther in the flesh and it did look a bit small imo. As for it's track decorations - don't go there :)

As promised this is the comparison photo between the K&C Summer panther and the HB jagdpanther, no noticeable difference in scale I think
I'll probably take a few goes to get this right :D:D as i haven't done the pic thing before

Thanks for posting those images.
Personally I think they both look wonderful and I would be happy to have them in my collection.

Those images suggest that the Honour Bound Jadgpanther is longer than the K & C Panther despite the JP being a shorter AFV in actual size.

Guys

I am not an armoured vehicle expert such as most of you are- but looking at those images of the two Kraut tanks and using my eyes to determine comparable scale may I ask a question............What the hell is all the fuss about "K&C Armour being the wrong scale" and the subsequent posts that have inundated this thread?

Not being at all facetious just curious!

The main scale issue is the fact that most of the World War Two K & C figures are in 1/30 scale making them over 65 mm tall, against the average 1/32 figure height of 54mm. However the majority of the tanks/vehicles that K & C make are usually in 1/32 scale and sometimes smaller. This makes their figures much larger than what they should be in respect to their vehicles.

To make matters worse, Honour Bound, which is a more recent company in the 1/30 range actually makes their tanks exactly at 1/30 scale which makes their tanks larger than the respective K & C version(s). This makes it more diffiuclt to include Honour Bound and K & C tanks with K & C figures.

However, King & Country are finally going to address this issue with the pending release of their Special Limited Edition Tunisian Tiger that will be in true 1/30 scale being significantly larger than their earlier tanks. The downside is that the new K & C Tiger will dwarf their previous Tigers and most other tanks they made in the past.

Thanks Oz for the clarification...I now understand the "fuss"

They are actually the same size! My angles from the side might make the HB tank look bigger in the second photo but clearly looking down in the first photo they are the exact same length. The impression that the HB tanks are bigger than K&C simply isn't so in this case.;)

I will take some more photos to better illustrate, I'm new to this photo thing:eek:

I know what you mean, but I did base my assessment on the pic with them close together, but I'll be happy to wait until you post some more pics.

Another good idea when comparing model sizes is to put the front of the vehicles exactly in line, then take an overhead shot with the small gap between them in the centre of the picture.

And don't forget that the Jagdpanther is slightly shorter (and lower) in real life.

Someone needs to put a K&C panther and HB panther side by side, with a Forces of Valor panther for good measure.

Well, I can stick an HB Panther next to the K&C Jag :

Length and width, there's naf all in it and the lower height on the Jag is to be expected.

Haven't got a FOV Panther, but here's the HB Panther with a 21stC Panther, where the difference is fairly clear:

And a Sherman comparison. I've got to admit, the difference on this seems to be a bit more noticable. I think it could be due to the shrinkage problem.

Here's a pic of a FOV JP, K & C JP and the HB (Barkmann) Panther. I agree that the K & C JP is indeed close to 1/30 scale which explains its presence in my collection :)

However I still haven't bought a K & C Tiger as they are clearly NOT 1/30 scale, and it is that tank which started off this thread. I would also like to see a pic of the K&C Summer Panther against an HB Panther, anyone have these two.

Btw, here's pic of three K & C ARV crew figures demonstrating their small size against a few standard 1/30 scale K & C figures. The Britains Rommel figure is at the far left pointing out the size differences, or is he telling the guy with the glasses he's looking the wrong way :) However imo the variation in figure size is less of an issue than the differences tank sizes because the later doesn't vary unlike human sizes.

Wraith, if you send your K&C Jagdpanther to Redhugh, and he sends you his K&C Panther, then we will have the right comparison photos to resolve this problem once and for all. ;):)

Would Redhugh be allowed to use Wraith's Jag as practice for destroying K & C models ;) :D

I'll be very gentle with it , would be returned in near mint condition:D
