Hello all, I noticed a comment about Ken Jackson closing his shop in Scarborough, I just thought I'd let you know that it's because he has opened his purpose built showroom. As far as I'm aware i'ts the only one in the U.K. He had out grown the shop and this new place is much bigger.
Also because everything is together it may be possible to start sorting out the Trophy range.

Does he have a website?

I think it would be great if Ken could re-ignite some of the Trophy figures.
Looking at the prices on e bay for some of these sets, I would think re-releasing some AZW sets ( firing lines and charging Zulus etc) would be profitable.
Maybe he could even consider redoing the Storehouse set.

Hello Martin,

A very warm welcome to the forum.

Thanks very much for your very first post on the forum with news about Maison Militaire.

So perhaps we may see "yesterday once more".....but in matte I fear.

Best Wishes, Raymond.

I know he has had problems because he is relying on other people setting up his new web but now the showroom is ready(which has taken a year to sort out) I don't think it will be long now.

I know he is happy to supply gloss figures if asked.

Thanks for the up date Martin and welcome aboard. It'll be interesting to see what he has in mind for the Trophy line and which series he'll start with.

trophy in gloss is the only way to go. i think maybe they should sell kits if people want matte figures. i have a lot of the american revolution figures which were some of trophies last and they were remarkable. they even had six different poses in some of the six man sets. kc has a lock on most of the matte. trophy was the best for gloss realism

I thought most of the molds were trashed and not good. But if they are, gloss is the way to go!

If he starts off with a few basic lines, like kneeling firing 24 th foot or standing firing 24 th foot etc that would be perfect.
The more exotic and complicated moulds he can leave for later.

Where did you hear that ?

Martin,
great news if the Trophy comes back in gloss. As for moulds, I believe there were many inquiries to Maison when it was first heard about the Trophy purchase and the response was not good regarding some of the moulds that were asked about. I know I specifically asked about the Hansom Cab set.

What I think would be great is to see the Sudan series reignited along with the Raj. Both of those have not been seen in some time and they are surely good sellers.

............and a few Camel Corps and Yorks and Lancs would not go amiss;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

Come on Ken you know you want to do it.

Now that the show room is ready give him a ring and tell him what you want. There's a lot of moulds to go through and I'm sure that if he thought it was a seller it would be made first.

Some guy named Ken:eek:
Mike

I know he had to sort through hundreds of moulds he even had to build somewhere to store them. Some of the realy old moulds were shot, but the masters are still there so everything can be remoulded. It's just a matter of deciding wether it's worth the trouble so contact Ken and tell him what you want.

Martin,
Thank you for your info on the latest with MM, at least he does have the masters, which is great news.
