Last 3 pics for now. Look for another new one in the next 1-2 weeks. :)

Very nice Dave, you are churning these out at quite the rate. That snow looks really good to and adds to the scene.

Thanks Scott. Timing is a bit deceiving as this guy was nearly complete when I posted the last one, but I have indeed had plenty of time to paint in recent weeks.

Yes, I am really liking this Hudson & Allen Snow. It is very easy to work with and looks great once in place. You can tell it is still a bit wet in these photos actually and it dries to a very nice and realistic looking appearance.

I was going to say "another one already!" ^&grin You are putting me to shame Dave, I really need to get my paint thread back on track. :p

Looking forward to this weeks figure.

Oh it's alright Jeff. Your cumulative work puts mine to serious shame after all.

We'll just see about this week.....it could happen as the tricky bits are pretty well done on him already and I've got loads of new kits arriving all the time that I want to start on so.....:smile2:

Nice figure painting and the snowy base adds to the atmosphere of the time. I hope someone makes some nice old west castings. I am getting interested again on old west figures. Thanks for re-kindling interest in castings. John

Glad to be an inspiration John. Have you looked at many of the Andrea 54 mm Golden West kits? Lots of choices there. I have a bunch and will likely thin the herd a little one of these days if you are looking for a good discount. :rolleyes2:

Thanks Dave: I have to practice on the castings I have. I still have castings and a few are western figures. I have a 77mm figure of a man with no name (Clint Eastwood) Series77 miniatures that I have not started in 20 years.s.:rolleyes2:

I like Andrea figures but they are pretty expensive to practice on. John

Hey MD ,
Just checking in to see what you have been working on :salute:: Looking forward to seeing your latest finished project .. Regards Gebhard

Hi Gebhard, funny you should ask as I've just returned from the garage with a can of Testor's Dullcote spray in my hand. Will need to do a bit of additional landscaping later tonight but it looks like I will have some photos on line tomorrow. Stay tuned......:smile2:

Re: MD's painted kits thread-NAPS!!!

At long last I've wrapped these up and have some photos to post. A bit of a departure from Western U.S. this time and will be sort of all over the map in the next 6 months or so with various subjects.

These are both 54 mm kits from Andrea and were so nicely sculpted it seemed like they painted themselves at times.

Might as well introduce the next project in line as long as I am in photo posting mode this morning. Finally getting to these really nice looking Lewis and Clark figures from La Meridiana and have something special in mind for displaying these eventually. I will try to post occasional progress shots of these.

Yes I have to agree with you Mark. Those recent figure certainly have a chilly look to them...Brrrr.

Looking forward to seeing the L&C figures brought to life.

Good work! They really do look cold. :)

So are you going to bring the finished works to the (other) Chicago Show in October? There's usually a good contingent of MN guys there to hitch a ride with. :smile2:

Good sculpting and good casting make painting so much more fun.

Thanks all for the kind words and if these guys look cold enough to you then I guess I achieved my objective in this case.

I am not sure about Chicago this Fall Wendy. It sounds like there is a modeler and painters show in addition to OTSN though. I'd appreciate more info on this event when you have a chance.

Thanks again guys. :smile2:
