Mike Tarantino's Toy Soldier Collection (5 Viewers)

As part of my effort to collect countries involved in the 1912 Balkan War, I have Hiriart Set 1348 GREEK NAVY, BALKAN WAR, 1912 on order this year. I have also commissioned two other sets from Hiriart this year based on Osprey Men-At-Arms colour plates: GREEK INFANTRY, 1912 and BULGARIAN INFANTRY, 1912.

The Greek naval set is very sharp looking. And 45 French sets by Hiriart is a lot of Frenchmen.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

Thanks, Al. It is a lot, but you can never have too many. I believe I have more than 30 of them so far.

In keeping with the Balkan War theme, next year I have ordered this Hiriart non-catalog set of TURKISH INFANTRY IN ACTION, 1912. I have also commisssioned a set of Montenegrin Infantry, 1912, on that order.

I recently picked up this Palmetto set of WORLD WAR II HUNGARIAN ELITE GUARDS, 1941 on eBay. You don't see many WWII Hungarian toy soldier sets made.

This is another Frontline set I picked up at the West Coaster. It is one of their early glossy sets from the Parade Dress line: P.D.S.6 RUSSIAN PREOBRASHENSKI REGIMENT STANDARD PARTY. Sorry about the first photo being slightly out of focus.

Here is a box with my Trophy American Civil War sets in it. I may have others since I can't find my Maryland Guard Zouaves among these sets. In any case, I'll start photograping what I have found.

Here they come Martyn. The first is ACW1 THE FIRING SET, 54TH NEW YORK REGIMENT. I am really fond of their unusual black uniforms. I wonder if this is part of the Schwartz Korps made up of German immigrants?

This is Trophy's ACW1 THE FIRING SET, 4TH KENTUCKY REGIMENT, CSA. One of the "problems" with living in Southern California is that we get a lot of sun even when others are suffering through winter-like conditions. In any case, the photos can have too much light and appear washed out.

This is Trophy's ACW3 THE CHARGING SET, 4TH KENTUCKY, CSA. I tried taking these photos this morning before the marine layer burned off and the sunshine appeared.
