Congratulation to Texas. Impressive series win for the AL Pennant. Houston has playoff yips on their home field again, just like 2019, when they lost all 4 of the WS games on their home turf. Odd series with no home wins for either team. Texas can hit. -- Al

Congratulations to the Rangers, heading to their first World Series in 12 years. A lot of people celebrating Houston's elimination. I've got no beef with the Astros, so, meh. It would have been cool to have had a rematch of last year's Series, though.

Of course, the Phillies didn't show up last night, so they go to their first Game 7, ever. It remains to be seen who shows up tonight, the Pony Leaguers who were on the field last night, or the team that went 90-72 in the regular season. Or this might be another season in which the prior season's league champions can't quite make it back the next year.

Prost!

There was no reason the Phillies should have been that flat. Kelly pitched a good game but he's hittable.

Well my season is over. Funny how streaks go. Castellanos had 5 HR in 3 games but went 0-23 the after that. Harper, Turner cooled off. Bohm was never there. Phillies hit a lot of HR in playoffs but most were solo shots. Dbacks deserves credit for not giving up. They're a scrappy team.

I suppose I have to congratulate Arizona for taking a series the Phillies had in hand. They never gave up and they win the NL Pennant. Have to admit that they were never on my radar and I never expected them to win, even down to Game 7. No horse in the finals so Good Luck to both teams. Play a great series and hope someone watches it. -- Al

I could not be more pleased by the Snakes victory over the dreadful Fillies. I’ll nevertheless be cheering for the Rangers in the WS, as I know some of their front office staff. But a Dback victory will not bum me out. Congrats to the Snakes!!

Wow, never saw that one coming, down 3-2 heading back to Philadelphia having to win two games in that stadium with those lunatics screaming for nine innings, but they pulled it off.

What wins in the regular season; offense.........what wins in the playoffs; pitching and defense, that's as old as time. Harper, Turner and Schwarber were 1-20 in games 6 and 7, no home runs, one double.

You live by the home run, you die by it.

Both the Rangers and Diamondbacks are young and scrappy as Hell, a 90 win team and a 84 win team, both #6 seeds/two last teams to get in are now going to meet for all the marbles.

Should be entertaining, no dog in the fight, we'll see how it shakes out.

It's amazing how the team that beats the Dodgers every year goes to the WS and often wins. If forced to decide between watching the Rangers and AZ in the WS or having a colonoscopy, I would watch the WS but only after giving it a lot of thought. The ratings are going to be in the basement. I can't remember a WS that I've ever been less interested in watching.

I have to agree with Doug. This series holds little interest for me. I will watch but not much. As long as Minumum Scherzer doesn’t get to celebrate I’ll be content.

Media baseball "experts" are saying the ratings will be in the pits. Course, these "experts" also picked the "Dodgers, I mean the Orioles, I mean the Astros, I mean the Phillies" to be there. Sure sounds like there a lot of butt-hurt experts today.
I'll be watching my Rangers, which is all that matters to me. Should be a great series.

I have to agree.

Sorry to interrupt the World Series discussion but a quick tip of the cap to Dusty Baker who announced his retirement yesterday.

He did so much for the Giants organization, SF fans are forever grateful for everything he did for the team, the city and baseball.

TV ratings and viewership aside, last night’s game was the best 2023 playoff game.
I actually watched and enjoyed the game. Not having a rooting interest allows for stress free viewing and just enjoying the game for itself. Tough loss for Arizona as they had a won game, except for that pesky 27 outs thing. Maybe consider pitching around Garcia. Red hot is red hot and he is. -- Al

Even up, 1-1.

I want t move on and watch other things but a pivotal Game 3 might be a must watch.

I haven't watch an inning yet but it looks like the Dbacks are destined this year.

Good series so far. No rooting interest but the baseball has been good. Have watched all the games so far and have been entertained. The fans have been enthusiastic, so I am guessing MLB is happy with the show although i have no idea what TV ratings are like. -- Al
