ESPN, MLB Network etc. have all decided that the current weekend series of the Braves vs. Rays is a World Series preview.

The Braves win in that scenario every time.

live been a Braves fan since the 70s. They were lousy for much of that time, although they did have some good runs now and again. This current team, though, is by far their best ever. I think most would agree. Anything can happen, injuries, bad luck, crazy, unpredictable stuff. But right now they are really fun to watch.

Better than this uniform? Nope.

Sorry, that uniform is......................odd.

To each their own, those colors don't work for me, might as well go back to those McDonald's uniforms they wore in the 1970's.

This post really sums up the Braves perfectly.

As a kid I always marveled at their pitching (Greg Maddux is one of the top three pitchers ever), those early 90’s teams were simply fantastic.

But this years team is even more spectacular.

As a baseball fan it is especially great to see a winning team that was developed via a deep farm system.

Yes they seem to be the best team in the NL.

I am really looking forward to the second half of the season.

There are so many great storylines, on an individual level and a team level.

I am also looking forward to the second half of this bizarro baseball season. So many great story lines. So many teams that were thought of only as 'also-rans' are still winning and in the playoff hunt, while so many pre-season favorites have been disasters. Been a great ride and we still have 70 or so games left to see how it all shakes out. Go O's! -- Al

Angels just had to put 3B Anthony "Ouch, I'm hurt...again" Rendon on the IL for the third time this season. Rendon hasn't played more than 58 games in a season since joining the Angels in 2020. Angels should demand their money back... -- Al

A good series win over the Marlins for the Orioles but this week will be a tough one, 3 games against the Dodgers at Camden Yards then this weekend a 4 game set against 1st place Rays.

Just bought my tickets to the O's/ Dodgers tomorrow night. O's fans gotta be thrilled- their team is 4 games ahead of the Dodgers in JULY!!! {sm4}

O's missed a chance tonight but Hades has never-the-less officially frozen over as the NYY's have taken sole possesion of last place in the AL East. {eek3} -- Al

It sure has been a lot of fun watching the O's rebuild and improve over the last couple of years. In 2021, the O's were 31-62 at the 93 game mark, long DOA in the AL East race. In 2022, they had improved to 46-47 at the 93 game mark, a 15 game improvement over 2021. Still way out of the race, but in position for a red hot finish to the year that just missed the playoffs. Now, 2023, after 93 games the O's are 57-36, another 11 games improvement over 2022, and are 1 game out of First place. Don't know how things will end up but the steady improvement of the O's sure has made baseball fun again for a fan that still remembers when the O's swept the Dodgers for the 1966 WS title. Go O's! -- Al

My Phillies are doing better too. They were 7 games under 500 now are 9 above. I think injuries will play a big part in this last half. Most teams have quite a few guys out with injuries.

Pretty incredible, Huh? According to ESPN, it's the first time since 1894 that there have been 12 teams score in double figures. Three games ended 11-10 and if SD had scored one more run, the all-time record for double figure scores would have been tied with 13, set on July 4, 1894. Unfortunately, neither the Nats or O's were able to partake in this scoring bonanza as they both scored only 3 runs in being massacred in their respective games. As Scarlett O'Hara said, "Tomorrow is another day." -- Al

O's better get things straitened out asap as a 4 series looms in Tampa next, a golden opportunity to take a lead in the AL East .

Tampa has been stumbling. O's have looked bad against LA so far. O's could have grabbed 1st place already had they played better. --Al

Great day in B-more. After chasing the Rays all season, the O's finally caught them. After defeating LA in the last game of the series, and with Tampa losing again, the O's have a virtual tie for first in the AL East, actually a few percentage points ahead of Tampa. Now the O's go into Tampa for a huge 4 game series. Biggest series for the O's in years. How long will the O's hold first place? We shall see. Go O's!. -- Al

The last 5 years of baseball have been the worst of my life following the O's, so for one night I'm going to gloat, brag whatever....not sure what the rest of the season holds but tonight Baltimore has the 2nd best record in Baseball and in first in THE AL East, I took a screen shot of a article back in February after some words exchanged with the Author and told him I'll remind him later this year
