JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION---DOMINION begins where The Prologue, which is not in the movie, ends. Colin Trevorrow said The Prologue hints at the franchise's future, "The arc was in the second film, their home was destroyed. And then they're left wandering, they're left nomadic and by the end of the third film, they are able to, I don't want to say that the ending is, but, we're forced to have to learn how to coexist with them in a way that we coexist with other animals on the planet. It doesn't mean that they're like going to Starbucks or anything or on the streets in the city. There are lions and if you go out and get too close to a lion, it's going to eat you up, but it's not a threat to you in your daily life. And I feel like there's a much more grounded way to integrate dinosaurs into our world that it really does feel like it's what would actually happen."

MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE---Keanu Reeves commented on appearing in a future Marvel project, “Will I ever join the Marvel universe? Isn’t it already bigger than a universe? A multiverse, a Marvel-verse … It would be an honor, there are really magnificent directors and visionaries, they are doing something that no one else has ever really done. THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS---co-writer David Mitchell commented on RESURRECTIONS, “I saw the film in Berlin in September. It’s really good. I cannot tell you what this film is about, but I could explain what it is not. It’s certainly not yet one more sequel, but something autonomous that contains however the three MATRIX [movies] that preceded [it] in a really ingenious way. It’s a very beautiful and weird creation. It also achieves a couple of things that we do not see in action films, meaning it subverts the rules of blockbusters.”

SPIDER-MAN---producer Amy Pascal said Tom Holland will return and a new trilogy is planned, “This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie. We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel, it just isn’t part of… we’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”

LAST TANGO IN PARIS---CBS Studios is developing a tv miniseries about the making of the controversial X-rated LAST TANGO IN PARIS which starred Marlon Brando and Maria Schneider. Co-director Jose Padilha said, “Tango tells the story of two men abusing a young and inexperienced woman, not for sex, but for the sake of art. They did it on camera, and the resulting scene made it into a major feature film, acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. The director and the actors basked in success, while Maria’s pain was neglected. I’m thrilled to explore a story about the ethics of art, an important but often neglected subject matter, in partnership with director Lisa Brühlmann.”

RED NOTICE---director Rawson Marshall Thurber said he is talks with Netflix for a sequel, “I’m not working on the script for a sequel…I’ve certainly been noodling with what I would do for a follow-up and not to telltale out of school but yeah Netflix…we’ve been having those conversations.”

HOUSE OF GUCCI---Gucci fashion empire heirs said they are unhappy with the Ridley Scott movie and may sue, “the production of the film did not bother to consult the heirs” and the movie portayed the Gucci family as “thugs, ignorant and insensitive to the world around them...The Gucci family reserve the right to take every initiative (necessary) to protect their name and image and those of their loved ones.”
Scott had earlier replied to the family's criticism, “I don’t engage with that. You have to remember that one Gucci was murdered and another went to jail for tax evasion so you can’t be talking to me about making a profit. As soon as you do that you become part of the public domain.”

ROCKY---Dolph Lundgren commented on a deleted scene in CREED II which had Rocky Balboa and Ivan Drago fighting and hinted a Drago spinoff movie may be underway, "I thought it was a good moment. It was also a fan moment. It was a quick little fight, and I thought it worked... But the director and MGM felt that it was extraneous and that it didn’t add anything. By the way, I think there’s some talk about doing a whole spinoff on Drago with MGM. So you may get more of that.”

MALIGNANT---Annabelle Wallis confirmed reports that a sequel is being discussed, “We have. There’s plenty of ideas swirling around. We were very, very flattered by the reception and I think taken aback by the reception. So yeah, there’s lots of conversations happening.”

CHUCKY---SyFy/USA Network renewed the series for Season 2.

TRIVIA---the dinosaur Tianchiasaurus nedegoapeferima was an ankylosaurus whose fossil remains were found in China. The genus name Tianchiasaurus refers to Tianchi Lake where the fossil remains were found. The species name nedegoapeferima was suggested by Steven Spielberg and based on the first or second letters of the family name of the cast of JURASSIC PARK: Sam NEil, Laura DErn, Jeff GOldblum, Richard Attenborough, Bob PEck, Martin FErrero, Ariana RIchards and Joseph MAzello.

AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS---Guillermo del Toro said he still wants to make his movie based on the HP Lovecraft short story, "The thing with Mountains is, the screenplay I co-wrote fifteen years ago is not the screenplay I would do now, so I need to do a rewrite. Not only to scale it down somehow, but because back then I was trying to bridge the scale of it with elements that would make it go through the studio machinery. I don’t think I need to reconcile that anymore. I can go to a far more esoteric, weirder, smaller version of it. You know, where I can go back to some of the scenes that were left out.
Some of the big set pieces I designed, for example, I have no appetite for. Like, I’ve already done this or that giant set piece. I feel like going into a weirder direction. I know a few things will stay. I know the ending we have is one the most intriguing, weird, unsettling endings, for me. There’s about four horror set pieces that I love in the original script. So, you know, it would be my hope. I certainly get a phone call every six months from Don Murphy going 'Are we doing this or what? Are you doing this next or what?' and I say 'I have to take the time to rewrite it.'"

STAN LEE---Timur Bekmambetov is developing a new cinematic universe based on unfilmed Stan Lee projects. The first of the two movies is SAWBONES in which a young boy reads a mysterious comic book and is transported into the comic book's universe centering on a haunted Juvenile Detention Center. CARNIVAL OF KILLERS is about a psychic girl and her mother who discover the traveling carnival they are with is a base for an alien invasion.

THE CHRISTIE AFFAIR---Miramax tv miniseries underway based on the upcoming novel about Agatha Christie's mysterious 11-day disappearance after her husband's affair was made public in 1926. Christie and her husband's mistress team up to solve a murder.

ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING---Steve Martin posted a photo of the cast returning for Season 2. Also, Cara Delevigne will play Alice, an art world insider, in Season 2.

ANNE RICE'S MAYFAIR WITCHES---AMC+ tv series underway based on the Anne Rice novel trilogy.

THE PENGUIN---Danny DeVito wrote the story for a new DC comic book, "Bird Cat Love", about the romance between The Penguin and Catwoman. The comic book is part of the DC Comics GOTHAM CITY VILLAINS anthology book. DeVito commented about returning as The Penguin, "I feel like it's not out of the question that The Penguin will return someday, but this is all up to Tim [Burton], whether or not Tim wants to do this. I would say that could be in the cards because we ain't dead yet. We could do a continuation of what we had in the past because that was truly a brilliant movie. They afforded me that opportunity and I feel very grateful and would I like to revisit it? Why not!"

SECRET INVASION---Cobie Smulders will return as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill for the Disney+ tv series.

DEATHSTROKE---Joe Manganiello commented on if he might return as Deathstroke in a future project, “No, I let that go a while ago.”

GAME OF THRONES---WarnerMedia head Bob Greenblatt commented on canceling the $30 million prequel pilot BLOODMOON that would have starred Naomi Watts, “When I saw a cut of it in a few months after I arrived, I said to [HBO chief content officer] Casey [Bloys], ‘This just doesn’t work and I don’t think it delivers on the premise of the original series.’ And he didn’t disagree, which actually was a relief. So we, unfortunately, decided to pull the plug on it. There was enormous pressure to get it right and I don’t think it would have worked.”
Greenblatt and Bloys then decided to proceed with HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, “I’m the one who encouraged Casey to green-light it to series. I said, ‘let’s not risk $30 million on a pilot.’ You can’t spend $30 million on a pilot and then not pick it up. So I said, ‘Let’s not make a pilot. Let’s get a great series that we feel good about, and just make it. Or not.’
They made the first pilot because they were protecting their own downside and protecting that brand, which I understand, but it was critical that we somehow continue that franchise and move quickly, which meant getting the series into production ASAP. That’s always a nail-biter, but I think the new show that is coming will be incredible.”

HELLO STRANGER---Jordana Brewster, Sam Worthington and Luke Grimes star in this sci fi movie about an android copy of a woman's deceased husband who is being pursued by a government agent.

TRIVIA---the GILLIGAN'S ISLAND opening credits theme song says the SS Minnow carried seven people, "...with Gilligan, the Skipper too, the millionaire and his wife, the movie star, the Professor and Mary Ann..." DAREDEVIL---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige commented on Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil, "If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen."

FEAR THE WALKING DEAD---Kim Dickens will return as a member of the regular cast in the second half of Season 8.

YOUNG SINNER---the BASIC INSTINCT and ROBOCOP team of director Paul Verhoeven and writer Ed Neumeier will reunite for this movie about a female staffer for a powerful Senator who is, “drawn into a web of international intrigue and danger, and of course there is also a little sex”

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
Shirley Bassey sang the theme song for three James Bond movies: GOLDFINGER, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER and MOONRAKER. Supposedly, her song, "No Good About Goodbye", was rejected as the theme song for QUANTUM OF SOLACE. However, composer David Arnold denied it was written for QUANTUM OF SOLACE even though it has musical similarities to the 007 themes and "solace" is in the lyrics by Don Black, who wrote the lyrics for several other James Bond theme songs. Arnold said QUANTUM OF SOLACE had already been released before he finished composing "No Good About Goodbye".

JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION---Colin Trevorrow commented on DOMINION, "This is a rare film where it is so different from anything that I’ve ever seen before, I didn’t know what to watch as inspiration. Honestly, we watched a lot of nature documentaries. I watched a lot of Planet Earth. The movie does rely on the animals acting and reacting in ways that feel natural."

TRIVIA---December 7, 2021 is the 80th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor which brought the US into World War II. In the Pearl Harbor movie TORA! TORA! TORA!, the B-17 Flying Fortress used in the movie developed a landing gear problem when its right landing gear would not lower. After the pilot notified the film crew, the film crew told him to delay landing so a camera crew could set up and film it. The crash landing was then used in the movie.
The B-17 pilot, Maj. Truman Landon, was played by character actor Norman Alden, who served in the Army during World War II. Alden may be best remembered for playing Lou Caruthers, owner of Lou's Cafe, in BACK TO THE FUTURE.

The world of adaptation can be heavy or light. When I like a product, I prefer the adaptation to be less changed from the source, so it all depends. I think its found a home, hasn’t it? THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS--Jessica Henwick said Tom Hardy might have a very brief appearance in the sequel, “We were filming in San Francisco at the same time as VENOM 2, and I met Tom Hardy. And so, Tom Hardy and I are running in the background of one of the scenes. And I’m so curious to see whether it made the cut.”

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
John Barry composed the scores for most of the classic James Bond movies including GOLDFINGER, THUNDERBALL, YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE and DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER. However, Barry disliked THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, a score he had only three weeks to write, "It's the one I hate most. Interesting as I've been watching the early Gunsmoke episodes several times a day. The 30 minute episodes are highly entertaining with a very sharp edge to them. Dillon doesn't take any crap and regularly administers beatings to the bad guys, when he isn't outright shooting them full of holes. In general, the B/W episodes are far superior to the later color shows. -- Al

Always loved the "Halo" series. I'll pass on this one.

What I'm going to say is going to be consider more than "NONE PC" in today enlighten world.

Yet, some might think it takes courage to say this, and others would attack me as racist, misogynistic, and even others would find a way to call me homophonic.

In the YouTube "Halo" preview video, count how many white men are featured? Okay, rewind the video and count again...still trying find some?

Apparently the future of the world will be saved and ruled by women and other minorities....hmm, what's the message here?

Hope you're sons aren't white...Let me correct myself, I hope they aren't white males whatever that means in this gender confused world today.

Now, I'm all for contributions from all races, men and women to save humanity. Yet, aren't white men/ boys included here? Doesn't it seem that there is more than a little "social engineering" to balance things out; maybe a little revenge too!

I've only watched the tv series Ted Laso on the list. First Season was good, haven't watched the second which just started. Saw Dune and thought it well done. Had not heard of most/any of the other titles on the list except West Side Story. :rolleyes2: Chris
