TRIVIA---in the 1958 sci fi movie SPACE MASTER X-7 (BLOOD RUST), a space probe returned to Earth from Mars covered with a fungus. When the fungus was accidentally combined with human blood, it grew and threatened to kill mankind. Moe Howard of The Three Stooges, had a cameo as cab driver Retlinger, who gave a ride to a woman who is infected with the "Blood Rust". Howard's cameo was the result of Columbia Pictures closing its Shorts department without notice and put Howard in the unemployment line after more than 25 years with the studio. SPACE MASTER X-7 director Edward Bernds was a good friend of Howard, having directed a number of The Three Stooges shorts, and offered him the cameo role.

THE BATMAN-PART II---co-writer Mattson Tomlin commented on the status of the sequel, "It's shooting next year. We're gearing up, and I will say that the bar just couldn't be higher. It's the sequel to the first one. But also, Matt [Reeves] is like no other. In the five years now that I've been working with him as closely as I have, I've tried to absorb as much as humanly possible from him, and I'm so grateful for the time that I get to spend with him, because he is a true artist who is operating in a world where sometimes art doesn't get to flourish, and he's trying to make something that really matters. So to be able to just be on the ride and be part of that process, it's pretty unbelievable, pretty tremendous. I'm psyched for the movie."

INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM---the hat worn by Harrison Ford in the 1984 sequel recently sold for $630,000 at an auction.

INDIANA-JONES-2-FOTOR.jpg

ALIEN---James Cameron commented on if he might return to the ALIEN franchise, “It’s kind of trampled ground at this point. I wouldn’t rule anything out but I’ve got 23 other projects in the queue before that hypothetical one so I’m going to guess, with me turning 70, that ain’t gonna happen. You’ve got to pick your battles at some point. You know what I mean?”

HAPPY GILMORE 2---Adam Sandler said football star Travis Kelce will have a cameo in the sequel to the 1996 comedy movie, "We have a nice something for Travis. He’s gonna come by. He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”
Also, Kelce is in talks to star in the comedy action movie LOOSE CANNONS produced by Chad Stahelski. No plot details were released.

HOW TO KILL YOUR FAMILY---Anya Taylor-Joy will star in the Netflix eight-part miniseries based on the novel. The synopsis says, “The series follows Grace, who has a complicated family. Her dad is Simon Artemis, a billionaire and ruthless social climber. Grace is the product of an affair Simon claims not to remember, which left Grace and her mom to fend for themselves. When her mother dies and Grace is rejected by the people who should love her, she transforms her anger into something useful — killing off her estranged extended family via morbidly creative means. Soon, Grace is clawing her way toward revenge and a hefty inheritance. But her mission pulls her away from what she really needs.”

THE WATERFRONT---Holt McCallany and Maria Bello will star in the Netflix crime series whose synopsis says, "Inspired by true events, THE WATERFRONT dives into the flawed Buckley family as their attempts to retain control of their crumbling North Carolina fishing empire drive them to increasingly dangerous means to keep themselves afloat."

Martin and Powers later starred in two 1960s James Bond spoof tv series.
Martin played Secret Service agent Artemis Gordon in THE WILD WILD WEST. Powers played U.N.C.L.E. agent April Dancer in THE GIRL FROM U.N.C.L.E., a spinoff of the hit series THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

SPIDER-MAN---Sony Pictures has reportedly not renewed its Spider-Verse five-year contract with Phil Lord and Chris Miller because of a "a heated fight" over the budget of the SPIDER-MAN NOIR tv series starring Nicolas Cage. Earlier, numerous complaints from crew members of SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE said working under Lord and Miller was “uniquely arduous, involving a relentless kind of revisionism” and “death by a thousand paper cuts.” Crew members claimed Lord and Miller forced them to work 11 hours a day, seven days a week for revisions ordered by Lord and Miller.
Lucasfilm fired Lord and Miller from SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY for "creative differences".

MEGALOPOLIS---Lionsgate pulled the trailer for the Francis Ford Coppola movie after it was found to contain fabricated negative reviews of Coppola's earlier movies by film critics Roger Ebert, Pauline Kael, Andrew Sarris, Rex Reed and others. A Roger Ebert comment about Coppola's BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA was actually taken from his review of Tim Burton's BATMAN.
Lionsgate issued an apology for the flawed trailer, “Lionsgate is immediately recalling our trailer for MEGALOPOLIS. We offer our sincere apologies to the critics involved and to Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope for this inexcusable error in our vetting process. We screwed up. We are sorry."

STREAM---Tim Curry, who suffered a stroke in 2012, returns in this horror movie with Jeffrey Combs, Dee Wallace, Tony Todd and Danielle Harris in which four killers stalk the guests of a remote hotel.

THE LONG WALK---Mark Hamill and Judy Greer will co-star in the Lionsgate movie based on the Stephen King movie.

THE ASSASSIN---Amazon Prime six-part assassin miniseries whose synopsis says, “Secluded on a remote Greek island, retired assassin Julie (Keeley Hawes) has a somewhat thorny reunion with her estranged son, Edward (Freddie Highmore), visiting from England. Armed with questions around new information on his paternity, Edward battles to find the right time to speak to his frustratingly distant mother. But, when the moment finally presents itself, things take a deadly turn as Julie’s dangerous past catches up with her and they are forced to flee the island and go on the run together.”

Also, Denzel Washington commented on why he agreed to co-star in the sequel, “There are very few films left for me to make that I’m interested in, and I have to be inspired by the filmmaker, and I was tremendously inspired by Ridley. We had a great go-round the first go-round [on AMERICAN GANGSTER], and here we are. He’s engaged. He’s excited about life and his next film. He’s an inspiration. We should all want to feel like that at 86.”

CHAD POWERS---photo released of Glen Powell starring in the Hulu comedy football series whose synopsis says, “When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.”

CHAD-POWERS-FOTOR.jpg

THE CROW---the remake movie scored a dismal Rotten Tomatoes 21% score based on 42 movie critics.

BATMAN---Tim Burton commented on if he will direct another superhero movie, "At the moment, I would say no. I come at things from different points of view, so I would never say never to anything. But, at the moment, it’s not something I’d be interested in.”

CRIMSON PEAK---Guillermo del Toro blamed the movie's disappointing earnings of only $75 million on poor marketing, "The thing that will always, pun intended, haunt that movie is that it was sold as a horror movie. But I remember distinctly, when we had the meetings [about promotion], they were all targeted toward getting the horror audience for the opening weekend. And I knew we were doomed!
I was saying, ‘You should promote the romance, and you should promote the mystery. The last thing you want to do is promote it as horror.’ We were opening in October, and October is the month of Halloween, so I understand why it happened.”

THE LIBRARIANS: THE NEXT CHAPTER---TNT picked up the spinoff series after it was recently pulled by CW.

WEEKEND WARRIORS---Mark Wahlberg will star in the US remake of the German movie WEEKEND REBELS in which a father takes his autistic son to as many NBA games as possible so he pick his favorite team.

STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE---movie insider Jeff Sneider claims that Keanu Reeves was supposed to play Master Sol, but he was unable to join the series because of schedule conflicts. He was replaced by Lee Jung-jae. A fan quipped, “'Scheduling conflicts' after he read the scripts lol".
However, creator Leslye Headland said earlier that Lee was her choice from the beginning, “I think with the cast, honestly they were just all the people that I wanted. I saw SQUID GAME, and I had written this character, and I had no idea who to cast, and I had no idea who was going to be able to play all of these different levels and then I thought [about] SQUID GAME and I was like, “that’s the guy, that’s him...."
Sneider said Lucasfilm still wants Reeves for a future STAR WARS project.

SPACEBALLS-FOTOR.jpg

THE CROW---director Rupert Sanders commented on the negative reviews and box office the remake movie has received, “I think a lot of people are very active online and not so active in life. Get out and do something and have less time throwing stones.
I think it would be great just for people to know that this is a reimagining and wildly different from the original and that the original’s still there. I haven’t recorded over anyone’s VHS.
You can still go and see that movie, and I hope this movie resonates with people who loved that movie when they were in their teens. This is my version of that text. It was my adaptation of James’s graphic novel, which I loved.”

MCU---Harrison Ford commented on why he entered the MCU as President Thunderbolt Ross, “I had watched other actors, brilliant actors have a wonderful time. I’m not a brilliant actor, but I thought I might have a good time. I’m delighted by what we’ve done. The movie’s gonna… kick ass.”

HEAT 2---Michael Mann commented on the prequel to his 1995 movie, “I’m working on the script like seven days a week and… it’s large. It’s as large as the original, which was 2 hours 45 minutes. Some of what the characters do is… beyond the novel itself, particularly the Chris Shiherlis character in the fourth part of it, the last act of it.
We shoot in Paraguay in Ciudad del Este where we shot for a number of days on this picture [MIAMI VICE], it’s a very wild place. Also in Mexicali, Chicago, LA and then in south-east Asia – probably Bhutan.”

A MAN ON THE INSIDE---Ted Danson stars in the Netflix comedy series whose synopsis says, “[a retiree] gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a PI and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.”

TRIVIA---Rod Taylor starred in Alfred Hitchcock's classic THE BIRDS, and he had co-starred in the SciFi Channel movie KAW, a tribute to THE BIRDS.

STAR TREK---Quentin Tarantino commented on the status of his R-rated STAR TREK movie, “Well, it is never going to happen, but there has been so much misinformation about what it was going to be, nothing but misinformation. Because I’m not on Instagram and…social media.
Consequently, if you’re Joe Schlomoko and you’re a transient reporter of some kind, if you hear Quentin is going to do a STAR TREK film or THE MOVIE CRITIC or anything, it’s a lot like that guy who wrote that Howard Hughes biography that ended up being a hoax.
They can say anything. ‘Quentin is going to cast Tom Cruise, it’s for sure’. The thing that was kind of funny about THE MOVIE CRITIC that I was going to cast Paul Walter Hauser… they just think he looks like a critic, so that’s why they picked him [laughs].
They write it in Showbiz Daily or whatever, and that gets picked up in 140 pieces. Because I’m not shutting it down, because I’m not all connected [on social media], that is reported as true, and it’s ‘true’ for a couple of weeks because no one knows anything better, and I am not filling them in.”

STAR-TREK-2-FOTOR.jpg

LA BAMBA---Sony Pictures remake underway of the 1987 Ritchie Valens biomovie that starred Lou Diamond Phillips.

VISION---James Spader is returning as Ultron in the Marvel/Disney+ tv series.

WITCH MOUNTAIN---Bryce Dallas Howard said her Disney+ tv series based on the Disney 1975 movie has been cancelled, "It’s not happening, which is disappointing. It was a really great groove, and we really all enjoyed shooting it here in Toronto. Some things make it, and some things don’t, and that’s the unfortunate truth of this industry.”

PONIES---Emilia Clarke will star in the Peacock spy tv series whose synopsis says, “Moscow, 1977. Two “PONIES” (“persons of no interest” in intelligence speak) work anonymously as secretaries in the American Embassy. That is until their husbands are killed under mysterious circumstances in the USSR, and the pair become CIA operatives. Bea (Clarke) is an over-educated, Russian-speaking child of Soviet immigrants. Her cohort, Twila, is a small-town girl who is as abrasive as she is fearless. Together, they work to uncover a vast Cold War conspiracy and solve the mystery that made them widows in the first place.”

THE SPOT---Hulu miniseries starring Kate Winslet whose synopsis says, “When a successful surgeon (Winslet) and her schoolteacher husband begin to suspect that she may be responsible for a child’s hit-and-run death, their quest for truth spirals into a web of mounting suspicion and dark secrets, testing their resolve and their relationship as they confront the possibility of hidden guilt and betrayal.”

TED LASSO---Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift are returning for Season 4, but Phil Dunster is not returning as a regular cast member due to schedule problems.

TRIVIA---THE TWILIGHT ZONE episode "To Serve Man" was ranked by TV GUIDE as Number 11 on its "100 Greatest Episodes of All Time" and Number One as its "Greatest Twist of All Time". Two actors from "To Serve Man" also appeared on the original STAR TREK.

She will not let anything get in her way, not even her twin sister...Must be comfortable training for heavy action/combat, must also be comfortable wearing prosthetics/heavy makeup, and MUST be 5’8” or shorter.”
Earlier, Elle Fanning was reportedly in talks to star in BADLANDS.

IT ENDS WITH US---a source claims a sequel movie based on the sequel novel IT STARTS WITH US is unlikely because of the feud between Blake Lively and co-star/director Justin Baldoni, “This is uncharted territory, and nobody has any idea of what a sequel could look like. There’s probably no world where these two will work together again.” A rumor claims the feud started when Lively and Baldoni clashed over different versions of the movie with Lively's version being released. Another rumor claims the feud began when Baldoni was not photographed with other cast members at the New York premiere.

JAMES BOND---a British tabloid claims the lead director candidate for the next 007 movie is Edward Berger (ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT). Other candidates are Bart Layton (AMERICAN ANIMALS), Yann Demange (WHITE BOY RICK), David Michod (ANIMAL KINGDOM) and Kelly Marcel (VENOM: LAST DANCE).

Greg McLean (WOLF CREEK) is the director. The movie is not connected to the classic THE EXORCIST.

STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE---Amandla Stenberg blamed THE ACOLYTE's cancellation on fan bigotry, “I’m going to be transparent and say it’s not a huge shock for me. There has been a rampage of vitriol that we have faced since the show was even announced, when it was still just a concept and no one had even seen it. That’s when we started experiencing a rampage of, I would say, hyper-conservative bigotry and vitriol, prejudice, hatred and hateful language towards us.”

THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU---Sigourney Weaver confirmed she will co-star with Pedro Pascal in the Lucasfilm movie based on the Disney+ tv series, “I’m playing a role in THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU. I got to meet Grogu for the first time the other day."
Weaver also commented on if she will return as Ripley in a future ALIEN movie, "I feel like she’s never far away from me, but on the other hand I have yet to read a script that said “you have got to do this." So for me, she is in this other dimension, safe from the Alien for the time being. I don’t really think about it, but you know, it’s not completely impossible, and certainly a lot of good filmmakers are inspired by the material. How much does the public really need or want another Ripley movie? I don’t really sit around and think about it, but if it came up, I would consider it. It has come up a bunch of times, but I’m also busy doing other things. Ripley has earned her rest."

She will not let anything get in her way, not even her twin sister...Must be comfortable training for heavy action/combat, must also be comfortable wearing prosthetics/heavy makeup, and MUST be 5’8” or shorter.”

ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING---Steve Martin said he wants Cate Blanchett and Ryan Reynolds to have cameos in Season 4.

Greg McLean (WOLF CREEK) is the director. The movie is not connected to the classic THE EXORCIST.

JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH---a reportedly new synopsis was released for the sequel starring Scarlett Johansson, “The film will be set five years following the events of JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION, when the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.
Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.
Covert operations expert Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) attempts to secure the genetic material from the dinosaurs but ends up stranded with a civilian family on an island that holds a secret being kept from humanity for decades.”
A source revealed the sequel's three main dinosaurs, "The primary Dinosaurs in JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH are Mosasaurus Titanisaurus and Quetzacoatlus"

JURASSIC-WORLD-FOTOR.jpg

SPIDER-MAN 4---Jon Watts explained why he is not returning to direct the next sequel, “That was such a specific moment in time, and the reaction to that movie was just so unbelievable. It’s never going to be like this, ever again.
Sometimes you do an action movie, and all the fun action stuff is given to the second-unit director. On the Marvel movies, you split up the work because there’s so much to be done. Rarely do you get the Christopher Nolan opportunity to do all of it. On this one [Wolfs], I was like, ‘I want to shoot every single shot.’
I was just getting started and Marvel came along – and I take full creative ownership over all those films – but ‘Spider-Man’ is always going to be Stan Lee and Steve Ditko‘s creation. This was the chance for me to go back to my voice and my vision and my style. Wolfs is mine, and that’s a really good feeling.”

AEGON'S CONQUEST---co-writer/showrunner Mattson Tomlin commented on George RR Martin's hint that he is not entirely happy with the new GAME OF THRONES spinoffs including AEGON"S CONQUEST which is a prequel to HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, “It’s really taking that text and treating it like it’s real history. That’s one of the things that my approach to it was to [that] fire and blood is written like a real history and these things happened. We know the history of Alexander the Great; we know the history of Napoleon. We know what the battles were. We know a lot of the people who died. We know in some cases what was said or what might have been said, but we don’t know everything.
For me, it’s about making sure that I respect George and I respect the text. And then also, it still has to be a dramatic story. Those characters have to go on a journey; they have to change; they have to go from a beginning to a middle to an end. Figuring out how to do all of that with the clues that that textbook has left for me and go, okay, I’m going to interpret this very real history and try to make it a really vivid show that hopefully people love and don’t hate, doing the best I can.”

THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM---Ian McKellen, 85, commented on if he might return for the new sequel, “I’ve just been told there are going to be more films and Gandalf will be involved and they hope that I’ll be playing him. When? I don’t know. What the script is? It’s not written yet. So they better be quick!”

A BREED APART---Hayden Panettiere will star in the sequel to the 2006 Wes Craven horror movie THE BREED. The sequel has a group of young people on a remote island where they are attacked by escaped genetically-engineered dogs.

WOLFS---George Clooney denied a NEW YORK TIMES article which claimed he and Brad Pitt were paid $35 million each to star in the Apple TV+ movie about rival fixers, “Whatever her source was for our salary, it is millions and millions and millions of dollars less than what was reported. And I am only saying that because I think it’s bad for our industry if that’s what people think is the standard bearer for salaries. I think that’s terrible, it’ll make it impossible to make films.”

DOCTOR WHO---showrunner Russell T. Davies commented on if the series will be renewed for Season 3, “It’s an industry decision, it’s like any business – these things take time. I think the decision will come after the transmission of Season two. That’s what we’re expecting, that’s what we’ve always been heading towards.”

ONE TREE HILL---Netflix is developing a sequel to the CW series.

TRIVIA---in the COLUMBO episode "It's All in the Game", character actor John Finnegan played Barney, owner of Barney's Burgers, who said to Columbo, "You're not exactly Robert Redford."

ROCKY---Sylvester Stallone commented on the ROCKY prequel tv series set in the 1960s, "The ROCKY prequel is very near and dear to my heart. I wrote a few pages of it, and it just seems to write itself. Seeing Adrienne at 15, Rocky at 17, and Paulie moving into a new neighborhood, Rocky's your bad boy. It's almost like Lady and the Tramp, but with real people. It's going to be wonderful."

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA---director Greta Gerwig has chosen Louis Partridge (ENOLA HOLMES) for a starring role in the Netflix movie series based on the fantasy books. Partridge's role is rumored to be Digory Kirke.

GLADIATOR 2---Ridley Scott commented on why he did not consult with Russell Crowe about the sequel, “I think he’s still one of the best actors in the world, and I think we have a good relationship. I hope we do. As long as he doesn’t start *****ing about how he wasn’t consulted. Why would I? He’s dead!”

KAOS---creator Charlie Cowell was asked if the Netflix Greek mythology series starring Jeff Goldblum will be renewed for Season 2, "Not yet, but they've been very supportive of it...There's definitely more. I also didn't want to do an ending that was a total cliffhanger. I hope that it feels satisfying as a season one in its own right, and there's always hope for the more. Because I really would love to do more and work with those actors and that team. It was a bit of a dream come true."

TRIVIA---Clint Eastwood's UNFORGIVEN won four Academy Awards including Best Picture. STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE---a fan counter-petition asking Disney to keep THE ACOLYTE cancelled has more signatures on its first day than the original petition, which asked Disney to renew the series, on its first day. The counter-petition has over 16,000 signatures and the original petition has over 65,000 signatures.
The counter-petition says, “Like so many fans of Star Wars, I found the show ‘The Acolyte’ absolutely frustrating. For some it might’ve been the abysmal writing, the ever-changing character motivations, or the awkward cinematography and strange jump cuts.
The show was completely misdirected. For others could be the multiple ways the show breaks canon, jangles keys of established characters damaging them in the future or the way the show makes the prophecy of the chosen one completely insignificant.”
Help me show Disney that we want to reset the prequel era back to George’s original vision that I know so many of us love."

TRIGGER WARNINGS---HOUSE OF THE DRAGON star Matt Smith said he is opposed to trigger warnings which warn fans about distressing content, “We should be telling morally difficult stories, nowadays in particular,” Smith said. “It’s OK to feel uncomfortable or provoked while looking at a painting or watching a play, but I worry everything’s being dialed and dumbed down. We’re telling audiences they’re going to be scared before they’ve watched something.“
Smith added, “Isn’t being shocked, surprised, stirred the point? Too much policing of stories and being afraid to bring them out because a climate is a certain way is a shame. I’m not sure I’m on board with trigger warnings. I used to go to a local video shop and get SLITHER, BASIC INSTINCT, DISCLOSURE — all these erotic thrillers. I was way too young to be watching them. I watched FRIDAY THE 13TH when I was nine. Actually, that scarred me. Absolutely ruined me.“

TRIVIA---character actress Irene Winston's biggest role was playing murder victim Emma Thorwald in Alfred Hitchcock's REAR WINDOW. However, Winston was also a writer who wrote two episodes of DR. HOUSE OF THE DRAGON---George RR Martin posted complaints (now deleted) about Season 2 including the omission of Maelor Targaryen in the Blood and Cheese sequence, “He is a small child, does not have a line of dialogue, does nothing of consequence but die… but where and when and how, that does matter. Losing Maelor weakened the end of the Blood and Cheese sequence, but it also cost us the Bitterbridge scene with all its horror and heroism, it undercut the motivation for Helaena’s suicide, and that in turn sent thousands into the streets and alleys, screaming for justice for their ‘murdered’ queen. None of that is essential, I suppose… but all of it does serve a purpose, it all helps to tie the storylines together, so one thing follows another in a logical and convincing manner.”
Martin added, “There are larger and more toxic butterflies to come, if House of the Dragon goes ahead with some of the changes being contemplated for seasons 3 and 4.”
HBO replied to Martin's complaints, “There are few greater fans of George R.R. Martin and his book ‘Fire & Blood’ than the creative team on House of the Dragon, both in production and at HBO. Commonly, when adapting a book for the screen, with its own format and limitations, the showrunner ultimately is required to make difficult choices about the characters and stories the audience will follow. We believe that Ryan Condal and his team have done an extraordinary job and the millions of fans the series has amassed over the first two seasons will continue to enjoy it.”

HOUSE-OF-DRAGON-FOTOR.jpg

BLOOD ON SNOW---Tom Hardy and Aaron Taylor-Johnson will star in the movie based on the Jo Nesbo crime novel. The synopsis says, “Hoffman’s trusted hitman, Olav (Johnson), is a cold, efficient killer, perfect for the job. But beneath his ruthless exterior lies an unexpected intelligence and an unwavering moral code shaped by a complicated childhood…When Hoffman orders his own wife to be murdered, Olav’s principles clash with his loyalties. Instead of pulling the trigger, he hatches a scheme that makes him Hoffman’s next target and with nowhere safe to turn, Olav forms an uneasy alliance that places him at the heart of Oslo’s deadly gang war. Once a violent enforcer, Olav’s choice makes him an unlikely hero in a world where no good deed goes unpunished.”
Nesbo is the co-writer and Cary Fukunaga is the director.

THE BOROUGHS---Netflix/Duffer Brothers supernatural tv series will star Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard and Bill Pullman. BOROUGHS-2-A-FOTOR.jpg

MUTINY---Jason Statham and Annabelle Wallis will star in the movie about a man who is framed for the murder of his billionaire boss by an international conspiracy.

BATMAN PART II---director Matt Reeves commented on the sequel, “It’s going to dig into the epic story about deeper corruption and it goes into places he couldn’t even anticipate in the first one. What was important to me was to find a way to take these pop icons, these mythic characters that everybody knows, and translate it so that Gotham feels like a place in our world … It’s meant to feel quite grounded."
He added that the villains will “never go full fantastical”.

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE---Alison Brie will play Evil-Lyn, Skeletor's second-in-command.

REACHER---Amazon Prime untitled spinoff series underway featuring Frances Neagley played by Maria Stern.

THE TALAMASCA---the AMC/Anne Rice horror tv series will star Nicholas Denton as Guy Anatole, who is about to graduate from law school and is recruited by a secret agency, Talamasca, that protects mankind from the supernatural world.

At the heart of the series, it is the story of Patsy and John Ramsey, exploring the unbreakable partnership of these two complex people — as husband and wife, as mother and father — who had committed themselves and their children to building the narrative of a perfect, privileged life only to have it destroyed one Christmas night in 1996.”

I must’ve gone, ‘I don’t know, let me think of something here.’ And I went, ‘Oh, that sounds reasonable. THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM---Orlando Bloom commented on if he is interested in returning for the new movies, “Oh, man, those things are amazing. Yeah. I don’t know how they’d do it. I guess with AI you can do anything these days. But, if Pete [Peter Jackson] says jump, I say, ‘how high?’ I mean, he started my whole career.
I really don’t know what [they are planning]. I did speak to Andy [Serkis] and he did say they were thinking about how to do things. I was like, ‘How would that even work?’ And he was like, ‘Well, AI!’ and I was like, ‘Oh, OK!’ It was a pretty magical time in my life, and it’s one of those things where there’s not a downside to it.”

BOSCH: LEGACY---Amazon Prime announced that upcoming Season 3 will be the last season.

TRIVIA---THE TWILIGHT ZONE episode "King Nine Will Not Return" was about Captain James Embry waking up next to the wreckage of his World War II bomber in the desert, but the rest of the crew is missing. The episode was based on the true World War II story of the B-24 Liberator bomber "Lady Be Good" which disappeared on its first mission over Italy in 1943. In 1958, an oil exploration mission discovered the "Lady Be Good" in the Libyan desert without its nine-man crew which had bailed out. Most of the crew's remains were recovered in 1960 after they died in the desert.
Rod Serling had assured star Bob Cummings, who was a USAAF flight instructor in World War II, that he would nominate "King Nine Will Not Return" for an Emmy Award, but he later sent a letter of apology to Cummings and his wife which said, "Unfortunately and regrettably, I was unable to to include 'King Nine' in the Emmy nominations for that time period. Another of our shows called 'Eye Of The Beholder' seemed to have to have been better written. It could not boast the brilliant tour de force performance Bob gave in 'King Nine', but as an overall production, found more audience favor."
Serling paid $15 of his own money to Desilu Studios' de Forest Research, which charged $2/hour, to make sure his script's military/technical dialogue were accurate.

JANIS JOPLIN---Shailene Woodley will star in the untitled Janis Joplin biomovie.

100 NIGHTS OF HERO---Nicholas Galitzine (CINDERELLA) will star in the movie based on the lesbian graphic novel whose synopsis says, "In the Empire of Migdal Bavel, Cherry is married to Jerome, a wicked man who makes a diabolical wager with his friend Manfred: if Manfred can seduce Cherry in one hundred nights, he can have his castle — and Cherry. But what Jerome doesn’t know is that Cherry is in love with her maid Hero. The two women hatch a plan: Hero, a member of the League of Secret Story Tellers, will distract Manfred by regaling him with a mesmerizing tale each night for 100 nights, keeping him at bay. Those tales are beautifully depicted here, touching on themes of love and betrayal and loyalty and madness.”

TRIVIA---while filming THE DIRTY DOZEN in England, Lee Marvin was at a London cocktail party. Marvin, well-known for his excessive drinking habits, was drunk again and made an obscene proposition to an old woman. His speech was very slurred, so the woman asked him to repeat it, and he did. The woman was Sean Connery's aunt. Connery, who saw the incident, headed towards Marvin. Connery once single-handedly disarmed pistol-carrying mob enforcer Johnny Stompanato and single-handedly beat up six members of Edinburgh's feared Valdor gang, and he intended to do the same with Marvin.
THE DIRTY DOZEN producer Kenneth Hyman pleaded to Connery, "Don't hit him in the face. He's got close-ups tomorrow." Connery broke out laughing and replied, "You f-----g producers!" and left.

DUNE: MESSIAH---Denis Villeneuve commented on the third movie, “The thing is, first, it’s really important that people understand for me, it was really a diptych, it was two movies, a pair of movies that will be the adaptation of the first book.
That’s done, that’s finished. So, if I do a third one, which is in the writing process, I will say that, for me, it’s a different object. It’s not like a trilogy almost, it’s strange to say, but I really want to – if I go back there – to do something that feels different and has its own identity.
Let’s say for me, DUNE, in a way, is finished and DUNE: MESSIAH will be something new that I will approach with its own different cinematic philosophy.”

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM---Ian McKellen commented on if he is returning as Gandalf, "There’ll be a script arriving sometime in the new year, and I’ll judge whether I want to go back [laughs]. I would. I would love to go back to New Zealand, number one. And also, I don’t like the idea of anyone else playing Gandalf. I’m told it’s two films. I probably shouldn’t be saying that [laughs]. But I haven’t read the script. So, I don’t know if it is.”

HIS & HERS---Jon Bernthal, Pablo Schreiber and Tessa Thompson will star in the Netflix six-part miniseries based on the novel. But when she overhears about a murder in Dahlonega – the sleepy town where she grew up – Anna is snapped back to life, pouncing on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation. There are two sides to every story: HIS & HERS, which means someone is always lying.”

WAR MACHINE---Dennis Quaid and Jai Courtney have joined the cast of the Netflix sci fi movie whose synopsis says, “In the final 24 hours of the world’s toughest selection process, a team of Army Rangers encounter a threat beyond their imagination.“
