Ya there's a whole line of them, most not my style but considered Iggy Pop and for sure would get Charlton Heston if they had one, but guys like Tom Selleck, brad Pitt and leonardo dicaprio dont do it for me.

I guess you can make just about anybody look good in gold braid and medals...

I thought it may have because it's closer to Australia :)

You can always pop over the Tasman when you need to go toy soldier shopping too !!!

John

I've only ever transitted through Oz - on the way to NZ - via Sydney Airport, John. Last time I went through, I left my walking stick unattended for a moment, whilst I popped into the loo. When I returned - someone had nicked it!Ho-hum!:redface

This time, we went via San Francisco - with a stopover there - which made the jet-lag far easier - as the journey is then just two X 12 hour hops, with a break in the middle. Much better than the other way which involves four stages - so I think the San-Francisco route is the way to go for us in the future John.

Heathrow London - San-Francisco - Auckland.

Glad to hear you are sorting out a new place too Ray. Keep the "Book Studio" though - as I've got quite used to it now jb

Well the move is complete, only have to unpack all these boxes laying around.
So while I was moving my Russian artist had to sit on his latest work until we were in the new address, they arrived today. I'm not set up enough to take my own pics, these are the pics he sent for my approval.
A real mixed bag here, Polish Horse Artillery, Polish King John III Sobieski 1683, a very nice Prussian Vignette, and Babylonian statuary, a hint of things to come!

2nd parcel arrived today, Nafrotiti's Barge, as always 30mm scale, overall about 8" in Length.
Ray

Added these to my collection of artist signed prints, particularly like the Custer print.
Ray

Very nice! I can't quite make out the signature, but are these by Eugene Leliepvre?

Prost!
Brad

Yes Brad, he is the artist, quickly becoming my favorite, I only wish he had a site that would list his complete portfolio, seems endless. Since he was around 100 when he died and still an active painter his body of work is huge.
I have yet to find a single source for his work.
Ray

So I've mounted Nefertiti's barge in a glass top 7x"9" box, printed out a Nile scene for background, think it turned out pretty well
Ray

Another group go into display, French Marshall with escort Chasseurs take a break as an Aide De Camp catches him on the road.
Ray

Another package from Russia with Love....
Peasants hovel and gabions in various states, a group of Babylonian warriors to add to my recent stone stautuery, finally a great group of mounted Saracens
Ray

Im working on some more scenic pics and incorporating these into a display or two

Cossacks overrun French Artillery position

This one I call After the Battle

Still adjusting to the new digs, just avoid Texas in August, anyhow it looks like my photoshop will be deligated to the Garage area and there is NO WAY I'm spending any time volunteer out there!
but I couldn't resist showing this group of Saracens I recently recieved from Russia
How bout "Entering the Gates of Heaven"

Probably didn't help that I recorded and watched Kingdom of Heaven on BBC America this weekend :p
