My JJD WWII BH (Bunker Hill) Carrier Collection (2 Viewers)

Great idea Mike, seen many pics of what you have portrayed. Very nice. Chris

Thanks Chris . . . . The existence of WWII photo evidence shows that this type of group scene was very popular and taken quite often . . . .

Mike,
You clicked on all the elements of a great picture.

The photography is wonderful,
The John's figures fit the scene perfectly,
The backdrop seems natural and even some of the guys appear to be watching the picture being taken below.
And it is telling a good story.

Larry, thank you very much for the kind words. The photography was more dumb luck than skill, John's figures always make for a good scene, Moe gave me the backdrop, and the story was inspired by existing WWII photographs . . . . . You could say it was a group effort . . . .

Very creative Mike!! This whole thread of yours is a delight to see.

I think this scene for the group photo is my favorite so far.

JJ's deck figures are tremendous and you've made great use of them throughout this thread.

Mark

Thank you so much Mark . . . All of John's ranges have such great looking figures . . . they are truly an enjoyment to have . . . I am sure you are really looking forward to delving into his new Drums Along the Mohawk range. I might get into that one too but on a limited, select scale . . . the IWA and BH carrier operations, and WWI figures, will certainly be my main priority followed by the Wars of the Roses figures which I am woefully falling behind on.

Glad I could see some of these before ordering, they look great. Nice collection. Can't wait to get my first jj figures. I ordered the set of 6 walking guys first. They seem to be the hardest to find at the mo, not sure how long they have been released so got those first.

Thank you very much . . . . Glad my photos were helpful for you in making a decision to collect the figures . . .

JJD WWII BH-02 (183), "Vought F4U-1D Corsair, VMF-221, White 183, February 1945, 1st Lt. Dean Caswell" landed on my USS Bunker Hill flight deck this morning. Here are a series of pictures from numerous angles of this beautiful bird . . .

Mike, beautiful pics of a beautiful bird. John has done it again. What fantastic detail in all areas. I was going to pass on the F4U, waiting on coming aircraft, but your pics have me pondering that decision. Might just have to get one...At any rate, congratulations on your latest addition. -- Al

Thanks Al . . . The detail on this Corsair is fantastic. I just could resist this one or the the Navy version VF-84 #167, which should be arriving soon . . .

Mike ...just WOW {sm3} ... what a beauty! Your pictures go along way to show the details of this lovely lady.
Now I can't wait to get mine.
I think I'll go out this afternoon and see if I can't find some bottles and cans along the side of the roads ..:redface2:
Okay maybe that won't work ...

Are you planning another setup like the IWA scene you did for SARA and the F4B-4's?

Wonder addition to your really impressive collection, Mike.

Mike ... QUESTION ... did the JJD kit come with the 8 HVAR Rockets for under the wing?
If not, is this a possible add-on in the future ... :rolleyes2:

Thanks Larry . . . glad you enjoyed the photos. Why collect bottles and cans . . . . just don't eat and/or pay your utility bills for a couple of weeks. I am sure your wife would understand :rolleyes2:.
Yes, I will be making another setup similar to the scene I created for the SARA and the F4B-4's. Just waiting on the Navy VF-84 #167 Corsiar to get here before I start. I am hoping that the JJD June releases include the new deck crew figures (pilots and I believe emergency crew figures).

The Corsair came without the HVAR Rockets. It appears that they could be added if some were reeled . . . .

I gotta' believe that John's has plans for future releases in this BH range ... but with just the HVAR addition I can envision 5 or 6 new figures and sets.

For example, crewmen pulling/pushing a cart loaded with HVAR rockets. OR ... two crewmen lifting them off and handing them to another sailor(s) who are installing them under the wings. Maybe a sailor bending down examining the rockets .... and more. Very specific deck action that would lend itself to a taunt, action scene of getting the Corsairs ready for a strike on Japanese shipping. <Be still my pounding heart>
