N.f.l. 2010 season (2 Viewers)

Are you serious? I've never heard of anything like that before?

Oh gee, I missed that barn burner of a game last night, what was I thinking, two 5-9 teams slugging it out........

There have been some real stinkers on Sunday night football, Monday night football and Thrusday night football (and that is an idiotic idea by the way, enough already with Thursday night football).

The morons at the networks messed up bigtime this year.......
The good news for me is that now one of those teams is behind us in the draft thanks to that game. Pity they didn't tie.:):p:D

Chris, your Cowboys let me down mate.:D They are trying to get the better draft postions from my Skins by also sliding out of the season.;)
Hi Bill. Redskins screwed up the draft by beating Jacksonville. Go figure. With the patchwork team the Skins had to put on the field, this should have been no contast but the Jags looked like they didn't want the playoffs. How does a team look so bad at home with the playoffs on the line? Now all the Skins have to do is win the last game to finish a not totally embarrassing 7-9. Thought the defense played well for all the injuries they have. -- Al

Well yes, they showed some depth and heart and didn't help their draft hopes:mad: but unless the Giants end up not needing that win for any purpose I think a 7-9 finish would be nothing short of amazing.;)

but unless the Giants end up not needing that win for any purpose

Guess you can rule that out now..........;) The Jets lost too, but backed their way into the playoffs for the second year in a row under the guidance of Fatso as San Diego gagged vs the Bungles and the Jags lost to the Redskins, talk about pathetic, two losses in a row and they are just about out of the playoffs.

The reason the game was cancelled tonight has nothing to do with the wussification of the NFL, it has to do with public safety issues, ie, 60,000 folks trying to make their way to the stadium.

This happened up here several years ago the day AFTER a huge snowstorm, the roads leading up to the stadium were backed up for miles, some fans left their cars alongside the road and walked to the stadium.

Can't imagine tailgating would be too much fun up to your knees in snow either, it was a good move by the NFL.

Further proof that Thursday and Sunday night football is idiotic to begin with, specifically scheduling games in cold weather cities at night in December, that is boneheaded.............

I hear ya!! :D I have been a Dallas fan for 30 years now- this is bar none the most disappointing season in their history. I suffered through the 1-15 and 2-14's but this team showed no heart- even the 89 and 90 teams showed heart and fought with the talent they had. This team was just craptacular. I'm Jerry Jones, I am lining the entire team up outside the stadium, having them count of by 2's and firing the 1's.

Chris...there are only 4 teams with worse records than the Cowboys...and Dallas plays Philly (at Philly) in week 18...a game that has home field advantage implications for the Eagles...so I don't think they will rest starters and should beat the Cowboy easily...to have us finish at 5-11...

Carolina (2-13) already has the top pick for 2011 sewed up...Buffalo, Cincinnati and Denver all have tough road games and should finish with a 4-11record...so we should get a 1st round 5th pick...pretty high...I hope Jones takes some promising safeties and cornerbacks...we have given up 423 points in 15 games...that's over 28 points a game...our secondary is the worst...

we need a high draft slot and we need a secondary badly...

and he can fire the defensive coach while he's at it...especially the secondary coach...:p

All that we Skins fans have left is the knowledge that we can be spoilers and knock the Giants out. We will have to play a whole lot better than the first meeting. I am pessimistic about our chances but it would take some of the sting out of this disappointing season (with apologies to all you Giant fans). -- Al

Al,

No offense taken. After seeing their last two games, can you say they really belong in the playoffs? The only thing that can save them is the Packers losing to the Bears. I don't see that happening. It's amazing to think that they were eight minutes away from being a potential number 2 seed to out of the playoffs. The turnovers have finally caught up to them and I wouldn't be surprised if they had a new coach in 2011.

Tonight is the first Monday Night game played on a Tuesday since 1946 they said on ESPN...

NO, no Al; let's not be hasty. A close game would be nice but I am routing for a lost to improve our draft chances. That would make the sting much better to live with than beating the silly Giants. Let Green Bay do that in the WC game.:D Lord knows we need all the help next year and after that we can get.:D

LOL. Lost my head. Keep forgetting about that draft thing. Maybe we can get another Ray McDonald or Gary Beban or Heath Shuler. -- Al

Congrats to the 2 TD underdog Vikings for beating Philly, another team playoff bound with a late season dud on their record. The way some of these "playoff" teams are playing, we might as well just put the Falcons and Patriots in the SB. -- Al

I'm going with the Saints in the NFC, they impressed me the other night vs the Falcons. If the Packers get in (and they should), they will be very dangerous with a healthy Rodgers as well.

Patriots will have to beat the Ravens at some point and that is going to be a tall task.

Last nights game puts to bed the Brady/Vick debate re MVP, Vick looked awful last night, some of those throws were just terrible.............

I saw the Saints Falcons game and Brees was pretty impressive considering he was in a hostile environment, the Falcons are nearly perfect in Atlanta, and he was under tremendous pressure. It was a great game. He seems very mentally tough.

Couldn't believe Eagles lost but they do come up with some stinkers. Sometimes you don't know which Vick you're getting. However, they had already clinched the division so I suppose the only thing they had to play for was a number 2 versus a number 3 seeding. I would think avoiding an extra game would be incentive enough, however.

That was a debate????? Vick is as inconsistent as the wind; there is no contest. BTW, did Brady break Little Joe's conscecutive attempt without an interception record?

It was a debate for awhile, but not lately, last night ended it IMO.

Actually, Bernie Kosar had the record, 308 was the number, Brady passed that in the Bills game.

Six Patriots are on the way to the Pro Bowl, most of any AFC team.

And I still say they are a year ahead of schedule, 6 picks in the draft in the first three rounds still to come...........

I'm with you George and the Saints in the NFC, and I still believe even as good as the Pats have been playing, they will get a tough battle from the Steelers and Ravens who play similar ball, even though the Pats whipped the Steelers awhile back this year, come playoff time the 2 teams I'm afraid of for my Ravens... the Colts and Steelers, gonna be some great playoff games coming up for sure...Sammy

Sammy,
we need to beat Cleveland this weekend and get the bye. We are decimated right now by injuries. We lost most of our original O line, Pola is hurt, McFadden has been hurt all year. Timmons looks timid, supposedly he is still hurt from last year and Aaron Smith is still hurt. Keisel, the list goes on. Truthfully, I feel like this season has been sheer willpower by Big Ben and the rest of the crew to win as many games as we have. No excuses, I am just thankful that we are in a position to compete. The only game this year that burns me was the Jets game, that just stunk. We flat out lost to the Patriots and Saints in similar fashion, just were not good enough to win those days. The Ravens games were great football.

All of that said, we need to win this weekend IMO to have some magic happen in the playoffs.

On another note, my opinion is if Brady continues to play like he has (and no reason to suspect otherwise, the guy has ice in his veins), they are going to be awfully hard to beat. I actually think the Patriots are getting better each week , again IMO. I hate to say it, but the Steelers and the Ravens both seem to be holding on to wins each week, instead of outperforming the opponent. Yes, the Steelers spanked Carolina, were we not supposed to do that?

And the Ravens, with the offense they field, they should average 35pts a game, no brainer, but they are not. Why, I don't know, I think Cameron is part of the problem, the other issue may be Flacco, maybe he just isn't there yet, I dunno! Long story short, if the Ravens fall short this year, there will be a lot of what if scenarios going thru that organization. I also think the same of the Steelers.

Should be an interesting few weeks, afterall, its the NFL, any given ................

TD
