N.f.l. 2010 season (1 Viewer)

Over at the New Meadowlands Stadium today for Jets and Bills. Parking here is a total joke. If you don't have a permit you're screwed. Other than that it's a nice place. Great weather also. Must be around 50.

It's crazy how trashed that parking lot gets after the games. I was driving by after they lost to the Eagles and the place was just trashed. I assume it's like that anywhere though.

Coolest thing- my barber is a Raiders fan he said "Chris, everytime you walk out of here high and tight, you look like a spitting image of Howie Long."

Yeah baby!! :D My head still hasn't deflated. :D:p

We parked at a hotel for 30. To get here we had to walk along a sevice road, cross it, climb up an embankment, then walk about ten minutes along an overpass, scurry down an embankment and then walk a few hundred yards. Nothing to it ;)

Ha!! Sounds like quite the obstacle course!! :D:D

Just got home. Fun game: Jets won 38-7, Buffalo pass returned for a TD, third string QB scored a TD and Jets threw for a few TDs.

Parking situation is worse than the old stadium and that wasn't that great either. On a cold day, I wouldn't want to make that trek across the overpass.

Whew, the Skins played respectably against the Giants and came close to dropping them from the playoffs. Thankfully, they came up a little short and should have inproved their draft pospects.;) Finally this rather sad but hopefully promising season is now in the books.

The Skins season is now complete, with another loss th the Giants. A game the Skins should have won but lost because of turnovers. Well, now we will see who gets canned. I think the kicker is in a wee bit of trouble. Don't know about Rex at QB. At times he looks ok, at other times he looks like he forgets that there is a pass rush coming in. May have earned a legit shot at next training camp, though. Lots of problems to address. When does training camp start?;) -- Al

Skins can't claim credit for the Giants missing the playoffs, although they tried. The Giants did that to themselves with that epic collapse against the Eagles. They never recovered. Bring on the draft, the Skins need everything.:p -- Al

Well what does a 12-4 record get you in the AFC?? nothin but a 5th seed:mad::mad::mad:, but my Ravens are off to play KC next week:):):), feeling pretty good about that game, didn't have much to play for today after the Steelers went out in front early, but still got a win over the Bengals who always give us fits...See ya in KC!!!!...Sammy

Will be pulling for the Ravens, too. Hope they get over their habit of late game problems, as in giving up long drives. It is nerve wracking and could prove fatal. -- Al

That's just the way it works out Sammy. Think of the Saints who get to go on the road to play a team (still undecided at this point) that only has a .500 record. Competition in the AFC is pretty strong. I'm not too keen on the Jets going to Indy to play the Colts but that's the way it is. If they win, then they get the Pats for a third time. Oh, joy. Brady hasn't thrown an INT in 11 games. According to the NFL, that's a record.

Sammy,

Ravens game didn't mean anything true, but you better hope they don't play like that next week, they escaped 2 late drives (blunders by Bengals) and Suggs got away with a uncalled personal foul. Chiefs are not great, so still may be able to play not perfect and win, but if the Offense doesn't figure out a way to sustain 2nd half drives, they are going to fall short.

Speaking of Steelers, that is the best we looked all year, firing on all cylinders, hopefully the bye heals the rest of the squad. I feel like we have a legitimate shot as long as Pola and Big Ben play.

The Giants shot themselves in the foot in the last 7 minutes of the Eagles game, and it cost them their season. Unfortunately, they hung on and won today, so Coughlin will be back to ensure another late season collapse next year.

The pathetic thing is that 4 NFC teams finished at 10-6, but two of them are out of the playoffs (Giants and Bucs) while if Seatle wins tonight, it hosts a playoff game at 7-9. There is something seriously wrong with the Divisional concept in football. The teams in the tough Divisions beat themselves up and some end up missing the playoffs, while teams in the weak divisions play half their games against the other cupcakes in their division, and by "winning" the division with a losing record end up as the 4th ceed in the playoffs, hosting a game against a team with an 11-5 record.

Tom, don't worry about my Ravens, your boys lost this year to ...jets/ravens/pats/saints,(all playoff teams) my boys beat 2 of the 3, and it took the mighty pats to pull out a 4th ot to beat us at pats place, so yea pitt looked like real world beaters against the browns, esp. the trick play being up by 28 or so points, hope we get that shot at the tie breaker in a few weeks against you all, beat you there once this year, it was so fun, let's do it again:)...Sammy

Bring it on, say what you will, Big Ben can close the show, not sure Flacco can. And when the playoffs come around, don't bet against us. We seem to hold that edge on the Ravens and we will be more than happy to have either the Ravens or the Jets again at home. I don't see the Ravens winning 2 in the Burgh in one season and I think Pittsburgh is a different team when fully armed and healthy. We have 2 weeks and I think we will be healthy.

Forgot to ask, guess the Ravens snoozed through last week's Browns game, they didn't look like world beaters against them?!

Better get by the Chiefs first, if Ravens play like they did today, you heard it here first, it will be an early exit from the playoffs.

And I dont think I would be so gung ho to see the Pats. They are a way different and scary team from when the Ravens lost to them. You might even say, the Ravens "prevent" offense that was employed in that game sparked the Pats for the rest of the season. If Brady is on, they win, end of story. And I say that for my Steelers also, the Pats are a very dangerous and poised team. Brady is a winner, pure and simple.

PS. I feel even more confident now should we meet in 2 weeks. I believe you posted a "look forward" to Dec 5th post, it seemed to bring us good luck...............hopefully your post here does the trick again! :):)

This is too fun, man, you should live in Bmore, you get just as riled up as the locals when the black and gold is mentioned. TOO EASY! I hope you know it is fun ribbing you, its just football, but it makes it interesting this time of year!

The Rams-Seahawks game tonight may be the worst officiated game that I have seen in 30+ years of NFL watching. Just awful calls and missed calls all night long. Hopefully the NFL fires this crew.

That first down call was terrible. Maybe it's the same crew that officiated the Pinstripe Bowl or the UNC Tennessee games, all of which I understand came from the Big 10.

Oh yeah, wow, the UNC TN game was awful. I didn't care who won, but that was a complete joke. When the offense commits a penalty on the last play of the game no matter if they snap or not, it is the end of the game. Time still runs!!!!!!!!! (Only Defensive penalty allows for one more play). BUT, TN still missed an extra point that would have made all of that moot.......

But agree, officials are getting worse.

WOW what an exciting game tonight as the 7-9 Seachickens, losers of 7 of their last 10 games, surge into the playoffs behind Pete "pumped and jacked" Carroll, what a clown that guy is, running up and down the sidelines like a pop warner coach, Pete the poodle should have stayed in college ball where the rah rah stuff flies.

Beyond pathetic that not only does a 7-9 team make the playoffs, but they "win" their division AND host a playoff game in the process.

And the officiating in the NFL this year was the worst I've ever seen by a country mile, they can't get anything right and miss call after call after call.

No doubt one or more playoff games will be decided by a blown call this year, no doubt at all.

I'll take the Saints, Packers, Jets and Ravens next weekend......................
