Wekkends playoff pick time guys.

Steelers over Broncos...20-10

Houston over Cincinnati...17-13

New Orleans over Lions...38-24

Giants over Atlanta 24-20

Man, I hope you are exactly right! If so, I win my office pool by getting all four games right and nailing the tie-breaker (points scored in the Steelers-Broncos game) exactly.

Not so fast my friend (LOL). Here are my picks:

Steelers over Broncos...35-10

Houston over Cincinnati...27-21

New Orleans over Lions...41-37

Atlanta over NY 38-24

I'll tell you what. Next week get me your picks early (by Tuesday), and I'll put a 2nd sheet in with your picks on my dime, and we'll split it if your sheet wins.:wink2:

I'm all in on that deal!!! as of the moment Lou & Sam are 1-0 on picks, go Saints!!

Watching a Saints home game is like playing a dammn game of Madden 12! It's not real football.

New rule time. No more than 35 passes per game, per team. Use them any time, but 35 is the max. That will stop all this silly stuff and force teams back to an occasional rush atempt. It would be nice to see a more balanced game return and the defenses actually matter again. -- Al

Looks pretty real to me Im enjoying every minute so far.........................^&grin
4 and inches great play by Brees.

Playing in a dome ain't real my friend. Of course, I don't really expect you to understand that, any more than I would understand cricket.

Why wouldn't i understand we have domes over here, and there is a huge difference in teams who play in perfect condition and teams that play in the rain, wind, snow etc etc,but it is what it is mate.
You can only play whats put in front of you week to week and if the Saints have to venture outside it will be a different kettle of fish, but hey worry about that when it happens im just enjoying the moment.
I understand NFL because i enjoy it as a game i made the effort to understand it,and i enjoy reading this thread as you blokes in the states make it even more enjoyable for me,with the comments and other info i can't get off TV and the net.

Ok, first two games are in the books and WOW, what excitement, playoff football baby, NFL!, NFL!, NFL!.....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.................

The Bengals; when was the last time they won a playoff game, 20 years ago?

Watching the Saints at home is like watching Arena football, what a farce.

If the Lions DB's didn't have stone hands, they'd have had what, 3 INTS?

Not to mention they got screwed on that quick whistle, that was a fumble and should have been a touchdown for the
Lions.

Whatever, good luck next week vs the 49ers..............

Not the Saints fault on the whistle................^&confuse
im looking forward to next week.

I just hope that it rains all week in San Francisco, and that next weekend its in the 30's and windy. I am, frankly, sick to death of watching arena football, and I would love to see how the Saints are going to look in real football weather. This is a team designed to play in that dome, where it is dead silent while Breeze is calling the snap count, and trying to pull the defense off sides, but so loud you can't hear yourself think when the visiting team is trying to call its snap count. Playing on a perfectly smooth carpet, which speeds up the game, in a dome without wind or weather, permitting the Saints team, built for speed and passing down the field to score pretty much at will. Nobody is beating that team in that dome, period. On the other hand, I'm fairly certain that the Saints aren't winning a game in Lambeau in late January, and are probably not winning a game in Candlestick if the weather is bad there, either.

It is a farce. Fortunately, there are no more dome games, except in the SB (unless the Saints win and the Packers lose). I don't what the score will be next week against the 49ers or who will win but I'll bet the Saints don't score more than 30, which would be commensurate with their away from Dome numbers this year.

Time will tell im just enjoying this win and looking forward very very much to watching the ALL conquering SAINTS play next week bring it on.........................:wink2:

Not saying it is their fault, but Detroit got royally screwed, that would have been a touchdown the other way for sure.............whatever.

For sure!! It would of changed the whole complexion of the game was a huge mistake by the REF,blew his whistle way way to early.
Isn't the superbowl played in a stadium with a retractable roof (Indianapolis ??)

With out a doubt Detroit got screwed on the fumble. It would have been 21-7 going into the half. Im not saying the Lions would have won but it would have made for a different game. Also Detroit should have challenged the spot in the 2nd qt when it was obvious ivory didn't make the mark on 3rd and 2 from the saints 15. By no means are the saints responsible its purely the refs as it always is in Detroits case. Oh yeah for all the nay sayers thinking the Saints can't or won't do good in outdoor venues think back to the beginning of the year. The Saints nearly pulled off a win in Greenbay and I believe they scored over 30. Brees is the man, the weather is not gonna do anything to his game. I watched this guy play at Purdue. Sun, rain or snow he was always on top of his game.

Saints scored 34 in their loss but in their seven games I believe they were under 30 on average whereas in the dome they're 40 plus. That seems like a big difference but seems I haven't compared home and away for all other 31 teams or at least the winning ones, I don't know if that's a statistically significant difference.

I think the overall problem is the prolific offenses compared with the restrictions on the defense. It's resulted in what the NY Times on their writeup of the game called "video game football." This is what the writer said:

"This was not old school football, not three yards and a cloud of dust. This was a flag football played in shoulder pads, or video game football brought to life."

This is not the kind of football I want to see. I can always watch my son play Madden 12 for that.

The Steelers strike me as a team trending downward heading into the playoffs. Injuries, suspensions. They are tough at home and get a win today but that's it for them. On the road they are very beatable by the top teams in the AFC. Just curious how close the Broncos keep it today. I'm taking Atlanta in the other game. The Giants haven't impressed this year. This is a game they may very well lose. And it seems like at least one road team will get a win and this one seems the most likely.
