I have never seen a Dick Lebeau defense just flat out not show up for a game. Tebow looked like a good quarterback. They got no pressure on him, and they left receivers wide open down the field. I know they had injuries, but this was one of the all time disgracefull performances by a #1 ranked defense. Well, there goes the pool . . .

Louis,
I could make a 1000 excuses, but sometimes its just not your day or year for that matter. Look, even if we pull that out, I am not sure we can field a full team at the Patriots, now we don't have to worry about it.

End of the day, doesn't matter, we got outplayed in the 2nd qtr and that was the difference in the game, take everything out of the mix and the 2nd qtr remains.

I am now in the process of ordering a Tom Brady Jersey, that is how much I hate Tim Tebow. GO PATS!

TD

Other than the fact that he beat your team (something I can relate to), why would you hate him?

He's come a long way as a QB since the beginning of the season. Now he was only 10 for 21 today and if those were Ben's, Brady's or Eli's stats, we'd be all over him but the throws he made today were great throws. God, I would love to have Sanchez make some of those throws. He mostly stayed in the pocket and he is developing as a QB. It ends next week for him but he's had a hell of a year.

So again, why do you dislike him?

Brad,

You must have a short memory. I may have ended up at U of MD, but I grew up and still am a NOLE. As in Florida State Seminoles. Tebow is a Gator. Enuff said. Unless you have that in your blood, it is hard to explain, but after 4 years of the Tebow show.................get it? I also think he will not be long for the league as a QB. I stand by that. I think the Pats will prove that next week. Not to make excuses, but I think 99 out of another 100 times, the Steelers do that, that is just my viewpoint.

Actually tonight, I give him credit, he made plays in the 2nd qtr and that beat us. The rest of the game, so so. If he truly was a good QB, we probably couldnt have come back. But, doesn't matter, I still dislike him, not a fan, never will be. Again, GO PATS!

Assuming both the Pats and Ravens win, I probably will have to go with the home team and fellow AFC North team, the Ravens. I will have to dust off my old Deion Sanders #37 Jersey, only one I own b/c loved Sanders. I do secretly admit to being a Brady admirer, when the guy is firing on all cylinders, he is a dream to watch play as a fan.

It's funny, losing tonight is almost a relief, I can watch the rest of the playoffs as a fan.

Well, I think we can lay Tebow time to rest. They backed into the playoffs with an 8-8 record, but will face the Steelers next weekend and go down in flames.

Cincinnati also backed in, and should lose to Houston. The Falcons and the Lions flip-flopped, so it is the Lions who will be sacrificial lambs to the Saints in New Orleans, and the Falcons who will play the winner of the Giants/Cowboys, a matchup which the Giants might win as the Falcons are not used to playing outside in bad weather.

I have my fingers crossed for tonight. I had very low expectations for the Giants this year, between the injuries, the unreplaced losses to free agency and the Eagles off-season acquisitions. I picked them to finish third in the NFC East at 7-9. If they can win tonight they will have dramatically exceeded my expectations, and anything they do in the playoffs would be gravy. On the other hand, if the lose to the Cowboys they basically had the season I expected with one more win. I guess I will jist have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

TEBOW.TEBOW.TEBOW. We need a religious smilie for Bronco talk....Since my Jets and Eagles are out, I am only routing for underdogs, just to stay interested..Michael

Well I'm glad you have accepted them as belonging in the playoffs...last week there was a lot of criticism about some division leaders teams records being undeserving of the playoffs...

I guess the sarcasm meter wasn't working then as I do not accept them as belonging.......or Denver for that matter.

Tom,

I now understand the Nole thing but you're a Terp so why didn't you stay a Nole? At any rate, I believe he got your goat a few times.

I think he's shown he can be a QB. He brought his team back five times this year. Not too shabby. He's not a good QB yet but he's learning.

Tebow is 4-0 in OT games this year. He may not be "good" but the guy has the heart of a champion at every level he has played. Does that mean the Broncos win the Super Bowl? No way. Football is a team sport and one guy can only do so much. But watch out in a close game. He finds a way to win and you can't ask much more than that. There are probably many guys with his physical talent. But none of them make it to this level or beat the Steelers at home in the playoffs. After seeing Tom Brady's new $20 million home in LA for his supermodel wife, a palace that would make Louis XIV blush, I sort of have to pull for the Broncos anyway.

Brad,

Ok, will address both points so I stay on topic!

1. I know I am a Terp, but kind of wierd, when you grow up one way, it never really leaves you and I have found myself continually going back to the beginning on a lot of things, but on college, the plan was undergrad of U of M (due to a family tragedy, my Dad died when I was 18 so I was happy to be close to home, I know too much info, but it explains!) and then onto Law School at Tallahassee. Well, I passed the grueling CPA and decided I had enough of tests, school and papers and alas, an unfulfilled dream of being a lawyer! If I ever hit the lottery, off to law schol I go. Anyhow, on topic, I found my heart reverting to the Noles. that is my true love! Similar to my reverting to the Steelers after the Ravens came to Bmore. I bought season tix, still own the PSL , but now my cousin owns the tix, I found myself sitting Sunday's in the stands watching the scoreboard for the Steelers score instead of the Ravens.

2. Tebow is athletic, no doubt and yes he has got my goat now more times than I care to count. I still will continue to think he could be one heck of a tight end instead of a qb. He has good hands, is big (could get bigger) and is tough. Imagine him ala Heath Miller, Todd Heap receiving tight end! But I still can't stand him, he is like the wound that never heals to me.......!

Ok, a lot of information there, but hope that better explains.

Doug,
one minor point, this was a home game for Tebow, not Pittsburgh. That is my one complaint on the NFL Playoff seedings, understand Denver won the division, but they don't deserve a home game at 8 and 8. Again, water under the bridge, we didn't deserve to win tonight after our performance in the 2nd qtr. In the end, it proved to be too insurmountable and Tebow delivered the only pass he needed to throw in OT.

Will find out about Tebow
He's got to face Brady and the boys and that's
my team to go all the way

Way to go TEBOW, always great to see good triumph over evil. {bravo}}

B.

The early line is Saints - 3.5, Packers - 8.5, Ravens 7.5 and Pats 13.5.

The first two strike me as absurd. How the Saints are favored I have no idea and although the Packers should be favored, six to seven is more appropriate.

The point spreads look a little off to me in a couple of the games. I think Houston is better than a 7.5 point underdog although the Raven defense will be tough for the Houston Qb. Because of Flacco's elavator tendencies, it looks more like a field goal to me. Don't see a problem with the Saints spread. With that offense, they will win big or lose small. Bad weather or not, Brees is too good. A trip to SF is not a trip to Green Bay. I see 8.5 points as too much the way the Giants have played as of late. Another case, though, of the Packers having too much offensively. They win big or lose small. Giants could take this. The Pats spread is probably good. I didn't think Denver had a chance with Pitt and I think they have much less a chance at the Pats. That said, there is a genuine Tebow factor but the Brady factor is even bigger. Patriots big. Patriots will get to the AFC championship game without having beaten a single team that had a winning regular season. -- Al

I'm so out of it that I thought the game actually was in Pittsburgh even though I watched some of it. LOL. I agree the team with the best record should get the home field. I also hate the NFL OT rules. At the very least, give each team the ball one time. Then go to a sudden death situation. But this wasn't Pittsburgh's year. The injuries were killers. Even if they go to the next round they are not winning.

After seeing Tom Brady's new $20 million home in LA for his supermodel wife, a palace that would make Louis XIV blush, I sort of have to pull for the Broncos anyway.

This line of thought makes me laugh, have to admit.

Brady was a 6th round draft pick, Tebow was a media darling and went 25th overall.

Brady broke his rear end to get were he is today, he was thin as a rail coming out of college, there was no hype for him like there was for Tebow coming out of Florida.

Brady has made a ton of money playing football, not to mention his wife is a supermodel who's made tons of money too.

Well just as I feared, the Tebow talk is full tilt today on Boston sports talk radio to the point where I shut it off, one guy up here in particular has been a Tebow ballwasher since day one, he went REAL quiet after that pounding in Denver, now he's back "You want to put 8 men in a box and stop the run, he'll beat you with his arm".............yeah ok.........my friends wife is from Denver and he told me yesterday the Denver sports writers have been calling for Brady Quinn all week long and if Tebow started out slow, to yank him, now last night and today in the papers they're all ballwashing Tebow again.

What frauds.

With the Patriots current offensive coordinator leaving after the season to move on to Penn St (WOW buddy, good luck with that one), BB has brought back the former coordinator Josh McDaniels to run the offense next year.

He reported for duty today actually; this is the same guy who drafted Tebow and knows him like a book..............if BB isn't the smartest coach out there, I don't know who is.

And all of this Tebow talk is sticking in Brady's craw too by the way................is it Saturday yet?
