It was Deon Sanders on the NFL network, whose tag line on Manning is "I BEEELIEVE IN ELI!"

Have always loved Deion, he is plain entertainment regardless of what he says.

George,

Don't let Tebow get you in a grip, BB will do what he always does, mechanically prepare and all they have to do is play a fundamental game. You guys are healthy, have a great staff and have the Brady Arm. Prediction - Pats 41, Broncos 20.

This line of thought makes me laugh, have to admit.

Brady was a 6th round draft pick, Tebow was a media darling and went 25th overall.

Brady broke his rear end to get were he is today, he was thin as a rail coming out of college, there was no hype for him like there was for Tebow coming out of Florida.

Brady has made a ton of money playing football, not to mention his wife is a supermodel who's made tons of money too.

Well just as I feared, the Tebow talk is full tilt today on Boston sports talk radio to the point where I shut it off, one guy up here in particular has been a Tebow ballwasher since day one, he went REAL quiet after that pounding in Denver, now he's back "You want to put 8 men in a box and stop the run, he'll beat you with his arm".............yeah ok.........my friends wife is from Denver and he told me yesterday the Denver sports writers have been calling for Brady Quinn all week long and if Tebow started out slow, to yank him, now last night and today in the papers they're all ballwashing Tebow again.

What frauds.

With the Patriots current offensive coordinator leaving after the season to move on to Penn St (WOW buddy, good luck with that one), BB has brought back the former coordinator Josh McDaniels to run the offense next year.

He reported for duty today actually; this is the same guy who drafted Tebow and knows him like a book..............if BB isn't the smartest coach out there, I don't know who is.

And all of this Tebow talk is sticking in Brady's craw too by the way................is it Saturday yet?

Supermodels work for their money? I hope she doesn't over exert herself. I picture her sitting on a throne in the new Brady Bunch palace and ringing a bell for some underling. LOL. Tom seems like a nice guy who is deserving. But these supermodel wifes are trouble. Particularly when they are spending $22 million of your money on a house in LA. I guess she doesn't like Beantown.

Completely agree with you on all points. I think Brady and the Pats are going to destroy Denver this weekend.

I am not going to make excuses for the Steelers, but if they played that game again 100 times, I would be shocked if Denver one even one more time. The Steelers not only didn't show up, they obviously didn't do their homework. Tebow, when he completes a pass (about 41% of the time :rolleyes2:), tends to throw the ball deep to wide open receivers. He rarely throws underneath, and when he does, he usually misses the receiver high or wide. So why were the Steelers safeties, including Polumalu, one of the best in the business, jumping underneath routes to the tight end and leaving the deep patterns one on one? Tebow only completed 10 passes, but 6-7 of them, including the 80 yarder in OT were down the field over the drawn in safeties. I can understand this on obvious running downs, like the OT throw, but the other times, it was just the safeties not having done their homework, and not understanding the only throw Tebow can make is down the field, where he doesn't need accuracy, just distance, to let his receiver run under it.

The Patriots understand this, and their quarterback, receivers and running back are all healthy, so should give Denver the beat down it should have received yesterday.

Ravens should beat out Houston at home around 24-17, and will go to Foxboro as I predicted.

To those people thinking the weather in San Francisco will not be a factor in the game against the Saints, all I can say is they must not be familiar with Candlestick Park. As Strahan said on the Fox NFL postgame show, for some reason (read this sarcastically) the field at Candlestick is also soggy and muddy, with poor traction. For those of you who don't remember the 1984 AFC Championship game when the Jets visited the Dolphins, Shula directed the staff at the Orangebowl not to cover the field for the week prior to the game, and it got soggy and muddy. The faster Jets receivers (Al Toon) and running back (Freeman McNeil) could not use their speed, and the Dolphins, who were familiar with the soggy field from practicing on it all week, beat them handily on their way to play - wait for it - San Francisco in the Super Bowl. If the 49ers don't make sure that field is muddy, with beat up loose and sloppy turf, then Harbaugh is not the competitor he appears to be. It will be the 49ers, who play stout defense and run the ball with power, relying on winning the war in the trenches more than on skill players, not the Saints, whose game is premised almost completely on speed, that will have a nearly insurmountable home field advantage in this game. The 49ers win 27-21.

Now we get to the one that already has me amped up, Giants visiting the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. This game is subject to a lot of "ifs": if the Giants play defense and run the ball like they have done for the past three weeks, they have a chance; if the weather is really bad (which should effect the Packers almost exclusively passing offense more than it does the Giants) the Giants have a chance; if the Giants learn from the Packers play in week 14 what they learned from the Patriots play in week 17 of the 2007 season, the Giants have a chance; if the Giants get consistent pressure on Aaron Rogers, while jamming his receivers at the line and throwing off the timing of the Packers offense, the Giants have a chance; if the Giants are down less than 7 points and have the ball with 1:30 seconds remaining, the Giants have a chance. If most if not all of these things don't happen, the Giants have no chance. My heart says the Giants will win 31-24. My head says the Packers should win 31-28. This week, I am going with my heart, not my head.

Deon Sanders; one of the best cover corners in the history of the NFL, he never met a tackle he wanted to make...................

He certainly hated tackling, but was responsible for deciding whether the Cowboys or 49ers were going to win the Superbowl back in the early to mid 1990's.

That being said, you better hope he isn't a hack commentator, he is picking your team to put an end to "Tebow time" . . . :wink2:

Now George, listen to what Louis says, all true. Deion never had to make a tackle because no one would throw to his side of the field!! He truly was "Prime Time". My other favorite corner is of course Mel Blount, now Mel was probably the total package, could cover like a blanket and could put you to sleep with a hit too!

Both excellent choices, but I have only three words to add: Night Train Lane.

I'd venture to guess a good chunk of that dough is her money.

And she wanted the house in LA because she is a huge fan of Kobe and the Lakers.

Have to love Kobe, what a family man he is.

105 women? Who does he think he is, Wilt Chamberlain?

Not to mention that Deion also played MLB, not bad.

CBS and the NFL must be lovin' Tebow. Yesterday's game was the highest rated game in eight years.

Imagine the ad rates CBS is commanding this week.

Doug,
one minor point, this was a home game for Tebow, not Pittsburgh. That is my one complaint on the NFL Playoff seedings, understand Denver won the division, but they don't deserve a home game at 8 and 8. Again, water under the bridge, we didn't deserve to win tonight after our performance in the 2nd qtr. In the end, it proved to be too insurmountable and Tebow delivered the only pass he needed to throw in OT.

Tom, I got to give it to your boys (Steelers) as much as I dislike them, to have all the injuries throughout the year and still have a 12-4 season that's pretty darn good, they will be back next year as always.

As far as my Ravens we battled to a 12-4 record to get to this position of playing at least 1 game at home and hoping we can use it to our advantage, I'm not looking past anyone, the Texans will be a great game and the place should be rock"n!!!!! let's go Ravens, let's take care of business at home...Sammy

No kidding; wow, one championship in the last 51 years between the two of them, no wonder you're a Yankees fan.

No kidding: wow, 2 World Series in the last 80 years, no wonder you are a Patriots fan..^&grin Michael

I wouldn't be crowing if I were you. The Red Sox have won more WS in the last ten years than your team has.

Thnx Sammy! Still should have won yesterday , but oh well, all in all fun year. As for the Ravens, you will be happy to know I actually own 1 Bmore Jersey======Black #37 = Deion Sanders and I plan on wearing it to the office this Friday!

Rooting for Ravens and Patriots, hopefully we get to see the 2 best the AFC has to offer this year in the title game. I think it would be a fitting game, Super Offense vs Super Defense. And hopefully Brady and Co can put an end to the Second Coming this weekend! Did I mention I really can't stand Tebow........ Your boys will be fine it they play fundamental Defense and if Flacco keeps his head. I think Ray Rice can get a hundo on the Texans too.

Weekend pick time fellows!! I was 3 out of 4 last week as most of us had Pitt winning but we know how that ended (sorry Tom)...so here's my picks

Ravens 27 Texans 13
Pats 31 Broncos 24

Packers 34 Giants 31
Saints 27 49'ers 20

Ravens 31 Texans 10

Pats 50 Broncos 13

Packers 34 Giants 3

49ers 30 Saints 27

The early line is Saints - 3.5, Packers - 8.5, Ravens 7.5 and Pats 13.5.

Updated line: only change is Giants game. Line is now Packers -7.5, probably reflecting money placed on Giants.

Picks:

Saturday

49ers +3.5. In 8 road games, Saints scored an average of 27 points. If you subtract the dome games, that's 25.8. 49ers averaged 27.6 points at home. 49ers will win by a FG.

Pats -13.5 (won't be that close).

Sunday

Ravens -7.5

Giants -7.5. I think they have an excellent shot to win. Although the Packers O line is healthier, the Giants front line is healthy and will make life difficult for Rodgers (who for some reason people are calling A-rod; there is only one A-rod and he's here in NY). On the other side of the ball, the Pack defense only finished 19th, rather pedestrian for a team that is 15-1, whereas Giants finished 9th in offense. Giants to win.

I'm hoping we get at least one good snow game this year. Between the domes and global warming, I can't remember the last good wintry game. NE and Green Bay have home games so maybe there is hope. The high temps in GB this weekend will be 20!

We got hammered today with a big storm, rain and strong winds most of the day, if it had been about 15 degrees cooler, we'd have about a foot of snow on the ground right now.

The temperature for Saturday at gametime is predicted to be about 19 degrees, dipping down to 5 by the end of the game.

We'll see how Tebow likes that forecast..........................
