You forgot about the Giants, with whom the Redskins are now tied.
I didn't forget about them, I just wasn't going to say anything until the game ended, one way or the other. Glad I didn't jump the gun on that game. It was a remarkable come-back by the Giants. Quite a few impressive shoot-outs today. Defenses are taking a beating. -- Al

Ok, wow. The Steelers have now hit a new low. Seriously, we lack an Offensive line. Give me that and we are right there. Its going to be a long season in Steel Town. I almost want to fire the entire line and try to buy a new one on the market. We look like we may need to ask Flozelle out of retirement and hire Jenny Craig for Max Starks. WOW, this is getting ugly. If I were Ben, I would go on strike and refuse to take the field for fear of my own well being. Then we have the play when we feel the need defense. Again, its going to be a long season. We field a lot of talent and little execution. No offense to Houston fans, Houston got it done when they needed to do so.

I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I thought the Giants would be really lucky to go 8-8 this year, and if it hadn't been for an offensive lineman totally missing a cut block on a screen handing the Redskins a win in week one, they would be 4-0, as it is they are 3-1. But its early, and except for the Eagles, they haven't played any teams I thought were playoff caliber (I had the Redskins picked to finish dead last in the division at 6-10), so they will probably collapse by the halfway point.

I guess the glass is half empty for you.

Jets just returned a kick for 107 yards!!

Is that you playing center for the Jets tonight Brad; that guy is terrible.

The Ravens defense is playing out of their minds tonight, two touchdowns off of turnovers so far..........

The Jets entire offense so far tonight has lasted about 15 seconds on a kick off return and an INT returned for touchdowns.

Keep throwing the ball Flacco up by 20, he is dead from the neck up.

It's a rough night so far. Amazing they're only down by 10.

Ok, since I am watching this game (nothing else on, Boardwalk Empire is over and Hung just is hung.......:p:p). I agree, both of these QBS are awful. Ravens will win this b/c they have a stellar defense. I don't know if that will last the whole season, as the Steelers have learned, you are 1 injury (or 5 when it comes to O line) away from mediocrity.

If I wasnn't a fan of the Jets, I'd have turned this off a loooooooooooooooong time ago.

Not anymore...........

Memo to Flacco; STOP THROWING THE BALL.
Well, the Ravens finally stopped throwing and started running out the clock and as a result, they won. What an odd game. My dead cat could have done a better job throwing the football than either of these two stiffs in this game. Glad to see the Ravens win, especially when Flacco was so off. I guess the defense is going to have to carry the team, again. -- Al

I don't get to see too many Ravens games; that said, is it me or has this guy regressed since his rookie season, he made a few good throws tonight, but for the most part, he was God awful, lucky for him Sanchise was just as bad, that PIC six was brutal, right after a boneheaded turnover by Flacco put the Jets in a great position to be down minimum 7, perhaps 3, instead they were down 17, ballgame.

The Ravens, for the 245th year in a row, are going to have to rely on a great defense to get far in the playoffs, they played out of their minds last night.

As a Raven fan and a Redskin fan, I get to deal with 2 Qb's of a very, uh, inconsistent nature. If Flacco or Grossman ever play 2 good games in a row, the ER's in this region will be jammed with shock victims. -- Al

My impression last year after watching Flacco in the playoffs was that he had regressed or had just not advanced unlike a player like Matt Ryan of the Falcons for instance. Flacco actually started off well yesterday but then seemed to go into a funk.

I'm not going to defend Sanchez' performance last night because how can you but a big part of the problem was the O line. They are missing their center Nick Mangold who is probably the best center in the NFL, who stabilizes things and is the "center" of their line, and not just in title. To expect a rookie center to fend off a defense of the quality of the Ravens is asking a lot. LT just became a blocking back in order to save Sanchez. After a while he was shell shocked so you can't blame it all on Sanchez.

No, you really can't blame him as he was running for his life most of the night.

I also just don't get the NFL rules at all, not to hijack the thread; first off, on his second fumble that was returned for a TD; the ref said his arm was coming forward without the ball, so it's a fumble.

NO, his arm was coming forward WITH the ball until it got knocked out, so how is that not an imcomplete pass. Once it comes forward, it's an incomplete pass.

And in the Giants game, the reciever falls down, nobody touches him, he leaves the ball on the ground and starts to walk away, the Cardinals recover the ball, turnover.

Nope, the Giants keep the ball?

How is that possible; I remember when than clambrain Burress caught his first NFL pass he fell down, got up, spiked the ball and it was ruled a turnover, this guy leaves the ball on the ground and it's not a fumble, ***?

Gee, in addition to being a Yankees fan, maybe God is a Giants fan too.

After 4 games, it seems that the NFL power structure is still intact. Green Bay, New England, Baltimore, all seem real and as good as ever. My opinion still out on the other big winners at this time, though Detroit might be as good as they looks. Also waiting to see if Pittsburgh can pull it together. Eagles are a BIG surprise, so far. Still early though. -- Al

I beg to differ a bit on this; New England is a pretender, their defense is God awful, they've made Henne, Fitzpatrick and Campbell look like Elway, Montana and Marino, BB is no genius, he's trying to make chicken salad from chicken droppings, they look more like a 10-6 team than a real threat in the AFC.

Baltimore looks legit, that defense is incredible, either that or the Steelers and Jets have a terrible O Line.

In the NFC, it's Green Bay, New Orleans and the Lions, they look to be the real deal this year after years of being mediocre.

The NFC East stinks top to bottom, as does the West.

I'll disagree with the disagreer ^&grin

Yes, the Pats defense is not good but I think the offense can overcome the defense. It may get them to the AFC championship game but could hurt them in the SB.

Baltimore has a great defense but Flacco is terrible. Look at Sunday's game. They overpowered the Jets but despite all that when it was 27-17, the Jets were one play away from making it a game and perhaps winning it. If you put the the Ravens defense together with the Pats offense, you have a SB champion.

So who is going to win the AFC? No one stands out and bowls you over. I'm not in love with the Chargers, the Texans, Ravens or the co-leaders in the East.

NFC. I don't think the Lions bubble will last so that leaves the once and future champ, Packers, who will beat anybody from the AFC.

The most interesting race will be who has the worst record and wins the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.

Agreed Brad in that the Ravens D + the Patriots O = Super Bowl champion, but the fact of the matter is Flacco is terrible and so is the Patriots defense, so there you go.

Super Bowl winners usually have great defenses, like the 86 Bears, the Steeler teams of the 70's, the Raven in 2000, the Patriots in 2001 and the game I wish I could forget, the Giants in 2007.

Great defenses stop great offenses, just like in baseball great pitching beats great hitting.

We'll see how it shakes out, but the Patriots IMO are going nowhere fast...........
