in these days of the multi million dollar contracts for QB's in the NFL...
it's embarrassing how uninclined the QB's are to get involved in anything physical...
it seems the day of the tough QB are gone...
I understand this mandate to avoid contact is probably passed down from the top...
but it's a sad case that's hard to watch...

Tom Brady threw an INT down the middle yesterday...
some 30-40 yards downfield...
as it was intercepted and the Washington CB raced down the sideline...
Tom Brady just bent over with his hands on his knees...looking at the ground...
and made no attempt to pursue or tackle him...
you could almost hear him say...
"Ooooh no...Not my job"...

Teddy Bridgewater with Denver was no better...
actually worse...
on a fumble return by Philly...
Bridgewater actually stepped out of his way to avoid contact...
as the Washington player raced right past him in route to an 83 yard TD on that fumble...
almost comical...

I understand...
no teams want to lose their franchise player...
but this is sad...
where have all the tough guys gone?
Mike, I think we'll have to get into the wayback machine and set it to the Golden Years of the NFL, 1950's - 1970's, in order to see a QB who has mud and blood on his jersey. -- Al

What an epic beatdown the Rams took last night. That was embarrassing to watch. The 49ers ran them over. All those big name stars on the Rams D contributed El Zippo. In every Rams game that I've watched, the commentator says that Aaron Donald is the greatest of all time at his position. Then he hardly makes a play in the entire game. Sometimes because he is double and triple teamed but no one else steps up. The 49ers just ran the same running play over and over and the Rams couldn't stop it. Von Miller made no plays either. He was sucking oxygen on the sidelines. A guy who played his career in Denver! On the few occasions when SF had to throw, no one covered Kittle. The Rams DC should have been fired on the field at halftime. Stafford has also suddenly become the ghost of Jared Goff. Throwing INTs, sailing balls over the heads of open receivers, making dumb decision after dumb decision, having that deer in the headlights look in his eyes. You can tell when McVay has lost confidence in a QB when he starts calling those short passes on third and long that have no hope of picking up the first down. A total disaster. It reminded me a lot of the mess that I've watched with USC this season.

They're going through a bit of a rough patch right now, Stafford is a bit lost, but they're too good of a team, they'll be fine, it's a long season...................

I give McVay credit for tricking the league into thinking Goff was a decent NFL QB; my God does he suck, but hey, his team tied the Steelers minus their brain dead QB who contracted COVID somehow.

It was a great game if you’re a 49er fan, like my son is. He was happier than a pig in you know what. However, the 49ers seem to have the Rams numbers; that’s five in a row. From a 49er perspective it’s hard to tell if they’re turning their season around. If they do terribly against the Jags, then you know Monday’s game was a fluke.

Yes, the 49ers have been awful this season but they suddenly look like the 1980s Joe Montana 49ers when they play the Rams. Their physical style of play gives the Rams fits. That was embarrassing. I'm not a football coach but if the opposing team is simply running the ball play after play and gashing my defense, then maybe I put some extra guys in the box to stop that. And cover Kittle. Every fan and the hot dog vendor knows that they are looking for Kittle on every pass play and he was running uncovered most of the night. The Rams DC is awful. He should be fired with all the talent he has on D to get embarrassed like that.

Whoever this Magary bozo is, I want to sign up for his newsletter....................{sm4}

"If the Buffalo Bills lose to angel of death Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, the Patriots will reassume their longstanding place atop the AFC East, perhaps for another 20 years running.

And it makes me wanna f—king puke. By law, we should’ve been granted a break from the Patriots — from all of New England in general — for 50 years. Minimum. That is the debt that was owed. But nooooooooo. No, we have to endure yet another round of Boston fans getting drunk on their own erections, and it’s all because of [Mac Jones].

...

I hate this. I want to die. I want every other rookie QB to suddenly be good to blot out the Mac Jones Effect, but I already know that’s not happening. I cannot stop this process by conventional means. Already, our most tiresome professional Boston fanboys are back on their bulls—t. Bill Simmons is bragging about his new quarterback to anyone walking by with loose change. It’s all happening again. Already."

My son watched five minutes of the game and his comment to me about Jones: “Jimmy G 2.0.”

The Rams went through a stretch of cupcake games like the Pats have done recently and looked like world beaters. Then they played some of the better teams and took a beatdown. Too early to tell if the Pats are back. I think KC is showing signs of getting back in playoff form. TN has some quality wins. The AFC seems to be getting better while many of the top NFC teams are starting to struggle (Bucs, Rams, Saints, Cowboys).

Cowboys have a ton of their blue chip 1st team starters out this week...
most will miss 2 games due to Thanksgiving Day schedule...

Tyron Smith...ankle bone spurs...
Randy Gregory...calf...
Amari Cooper...Covid...definitely will miss 2 games (Thanksgiving Day)...
DeMarcus Lawrence...foot...
Blake Jarwin...hip...
Jabril Cox...out for season...
Neville Gillmore...elbow...

they do get La'el Collins back this week...
so that's good...lol...

We'll see...............time will tell what he ends up being.

The beauty is you've got him on a four year rookie deal for short money, so you can build a team around him vs signing/trading for some washed up vet who's making big dough.

Last year they found a way to lose such games, now they are finding out ways to win them.

And the defense is lights out right now, regardless of opponent, they are on another level, Judon has been a tremendous signing, Godchaux has been very good in the middle, Mills has been a good CB, #1 draft pick from a few years ago Dugger has been great at safety, Barnmore, whom they stole in the second round this year, has been a beast on the defensive line.

We'll see what they are really made of the next month, Titans at home, Bills on the road, Colts on the road, Bills at home.

Come out of that gauntlet at 3-1 and they'll be in business; 2-2 might do it too, we'll see.

Today is just another example of why I do not gamble.

The Titans lost at home to the 1-8 Texans?

The Bills lost at home to the Colts?

Dallas looked just pathetic vs the Chefs, they are banged up, but still, 9 points vs that defense?

That pain in the balls Spagnola, who cooked up the game plan of his life vs the undefeated Patriots in the 2007 Super Bowl annoys the **** out of me.

Looks like the Chefs are rolling again and will go back to the Super Bowl vs a soft AFC; oh wait, let's not count out the horseshoe up their ***** Ravens, Jackson is out, some tomato can I wouldn't know if I fell over leads them to a rock fight 16-13 win, a back up stiff thrown into the game the day of has zero business winning in the NFL.

And the Saints have crashed back to earth, they stink, as does Seattle.

And Cam is looking like the Cam of old, too bad he sucked when he was here, all it took for him to get his magic back was to return to the Panthers, TWO TD passes today, one run, I think that matched his season long total here last year.

So the Steelers dig themselves in a big hole. Down at start of 4th Q 27-10. Big Ben looked like Ben of old - put them ahead 37-34 with 3 to go................and they lost. Defense playing with a lot of back ups could not stop Herbert. Lose 41-37, frustrating. No TJ Watt, No Minka Fitzpatrick, No Joe Haden, No Stephon Tuitt, No Tyson A., etc etc. Hard to win when you can't stop the opposing team. I have always found it odd how much better First Team NFLers are than their back ups as you figure they are all pro caliber players, but jeez, sure you have some superstars (And the QB position is another conversation) but my word, the difference between first and second team seems to be a world of difference!

Not to take anything away from the Chargers - they played and executed offensively.

TD

Tom...
I feel your pain...
injuries...the great equalizer...
I watched that game...
the 4th quarter was a slug fest...
tremendous rally by the Steelers only to fall short...

Cowboys yesterday were playing with so many starter injuries...
then losing CeeDee Lamb last night for the 2nd half for concussion protocol...
he will probably miss Thanksgiving Day's game...
Lamb contributes 47% of their passing offense...
with Amari Cooper already out for Covid...their passing offense is gonna be severely depleted..
with 3 games in 12 days...this is gonna be UGLY!!!

The interview with the Raven's QB after the game was hilarious. He sounded like a fan who suddenly found himself playing in an NFL game. When they asked him to assess his performance he said "it could have been way better." A win is a win, though.

Jerry is pissed off and making it known...
throwing a public rant about Cooper...

unvaccinated Amari Cooper (paid 21 million annually)...
is sitting on the bench for 2 games due to Covid positive test...

CeeDee also is out on concussion protocol...

replacing their spots...
Cedrick Wilson (paid 2 million annually) and Noah Brown (paid 1 million annually) are taking their spots for the game Thursday...

Maybe the time has come for the NFL to consider scheduling some team other than the Lions to play on Thanksgiving. It's punishing to watch that hot mess. At least the Jets are not playing the Cowboys.
