N.F.L. 21-22 Season (1 Viewer)

Kind of surprised that Deshaun Watson only got a 6 game suspension...
Goodell can still appeal...
but I actually thought Watson was going to get a full year suspension...
kind of doubt the NFL will pursue anything stronger...

Like with MLB's treatment of Trevor Bauer (basically ending his career based on an allegation), the NFL's suspension of Watson is outrageous. Law enforcement investigated the allegations and decided not to bring charges but the NFL, solely out of fear of woke pressure, is now going to suspend him? What authority do they have to do this? What investigation did they conduct that wasn't done by the justice system. Imagine if an employer has the power to suspend or fire employees based on allegations - and they pick and choose which type of allegation is worthy of punishment based on which direction the political winds are blowing that day. Every grifter in America will now start making up allegations given the enormous pressure this puts on folks to settle even baseless claims.

The Dolphins got docked a 1st and 4th round pick for violation of the integrity of the game.

Seems their owner was paying the coach to tank games for a better draft position, PLUS Miami was in talks with Brady WHILE HE WAS STILL UNDER CONTRACT with New England in 2019 to go there in 2020.

Ok; so that explains why Brady signed a 1 year extention with a 2nd year opt out; because he was working behind the scenes to go to the Dolphins in the 2020 season.

Not sure who's a bigger scumbag; Ross the Dolphins owner or Brady.

They don't call him Shady Brady for nothing.

The NFL found that Stephen Ross violated the rules regarding tampering per it’s agreed upon policies.

The NFL found that DeShaun Watson engaged in sexual assault per it’s agreed upon policies.

Steven Ross was fined $1.5 mil and suspended for six games.

DeShaun Watson was fined $345k and suspended for six games.

Wait, what?

I hate to sound like I am old but I still do not understand the draw of fantasy football?

You “play” in a league where you pick position players and gain points based on how those players perform?

It seems pretty easy to pick the best QB’s, receivers and running backs.

And for those who say that there is a draft, essentially it is a guessing game picking mediocre players.

Sorry, that isn’t skill or insight, that is luck.

It’s actually a lot of fun and quite challenging. Moreover, given the woke nature of today’s NFL I find myself rooting more for my fantasy team than my hometown team.

While there is some luck involved, as with everything else, it’s a lot more than a “guessing game.” People who follow the league and players closely over the course of the season will usually be rewarded.

Bryce Perkins is a freakish athlete for the Rams. Not even clear that he will make the team, but his size and athlete ability are off the charts. Reminds me a bit of Randall Cunningham with the Eagles many years ago.

No one is biting on Jimmy G. and his $24 million price tag. Not even the lowly Browns. The Niners will likely have to cut him or maybe, if they are lucky, get some low draft pick. I can't see him doing much elsewhere. SF was the perfect team for him. He basically just didn't need to screw up there to win games. If he plays somewhere where he has to carry the load, it won't be pretty.

On the other side, I am not 100% sold on Trey Lance.

He did excel against the Packers in one pre-season game, but even 49ers brass admitted that was against a Green Bay defense that was playing 2nd and 3rd string players.

While I do think that he has potential, at this point I am not ready to pencil the Niners into the NFC Championship game, let alone the Super Bowl this year.

I think there were more Rams fans at the preseason game last night than the NFL championship game. And a fairly loud crowd consider the meaningless nature of the game. They must have given tickets away to actual fans instead of selling them for astronomical prices to people who want to come for a social event. Why are there no good new uniforms being designed anymore? The Texans' uniforms look like rejects from the old USFL. The Rams at least wore the blue and yellow throwbacks and not their new spacesuits.

Rams should have honored their LA roots and gone with blue jerseys, white pants and a blue and white helmet, not that goofy Anaheim Rams get up.

Five best NFL uniforms;

Packers
Chargers powder blue tops/gold pants
Raiders black and gold, love their white road jersey with the silver numbers
Steelers
49ers red jersey, gold pants

Five Worst;
Jaguars
Titans
Texans
Ravens
Bucs

The Patriots blue on blue home uniform is God awful too BTW..................

Yes, I loved those Rams' white and blue uniforms of yesteryear. Deacon Jones and Roman Gabriel. The blue and gold throwbacks to the 70s and 80s are not so bad. I'm still adjusting to the updated spacesuits. The Texans those! Yikes. Awful uniforms.

The 49ers are a solid team. They just need a QB who won't turn the ball over and can make a play here and there. They have really given the Rams fits with their physical play. In all likelihood, they win the SB last year if they hang onto that one INT that bounced right off the defender's chest in the NFC championship game. It was all over if he makes that play and they would have beat Cincy easily.

With that being said, those Niner/Rams games were all “edge of your seat” watching.

I am looking forward to Trey Lance rolling out with Aaron Donald in pursuit…..

So now they are saying Jimmy G. is staying with the Niners. Wow. What a weird situation. They practically announced he was done in the locker room after the NFC championship game. Still can't believe he will be there. Puts a ton of pressure on Lance.

The Patriots made their final cuts today to get to 53.

Not a single "Wow/can't believe he's gone/why on earth did they cut him" name.

In years gone past, teams would swoop down on anyone they cut and scoop them up.

They are a thoroughly mediocre team, the top 100 NFL players list was announced; not a single Patriot on the list.

Piss poor drafts from 2017-2021 will do that to you.

They have whiffed badly, awfully really on some players, taking tomato cans right before a stud was taken time and time again.

Belichick the coach I'm ok with; Belichick the guy who shops for the groceries, not so much.

They've become what other teams used to be; a tomato can.

Used to be a time where I could look at the schedule and go "14-2, 13-3, first round bye, AFCCG for sure"..............now; 5-12, 7-10 best case scenario.

The ****ing food had better be good at our Sunday get togethers because what we will be watching sure as **** won't be.

Here we go!!! Kick off tomorrow night!! Rams got the Superbowl last year but thinking the Bills win tomorrow in a close one.

Best part of this game for me is Ozzy Osbourne is playing the halftime show! Now that is cool!

Are they going to raise the thermostat inside the stadium to 78, asking for a friend.

Better bring your Fleece Jackets if the AC is going to be that cold🤣🤣 As far as Ozzy goes the media and news reports had him on death's bed a few weeks ago after his surgery, must be a quick healer.
