N.F.L. 21-22 Season (2 Viewers)

Sammy...
you're right...
and Aaron Rodgers did not look good at all...
he may still be unhappy in GB...
15-28 with 2 INT's...
a QB rating of 36.8...
probably his worst in his lifetime...

The body language of the coaches and players for the Rams is completely different this year after getting rid of Goff. He was a dead weight over the last couple of seasons. It was all smiles and high fives last night with Stafford. Night and day change to have a real competitor at QB. Goff was a nice guy but not a leader.

Fortunately or (unfortunately) I watched way too much NFL Football this weekend,.

Forget quarterback, the most difficult position is cornerback. You can’t even look at a receiver the wrong way without getting a flag while trying to do your job.

I fear that the increased emphasis on scoring has all but led to the end of defense.

Agree. From a defensive POV, the current game is unwatchable, and has been for quite a while. The first commandment is now "Thou shalt not touch the QB, under any and all circumstances." What a joke. They should just put a red jersey on him and a flag belt and be done with it. Minimal running attacks, no realistic defense allowed...this sure ain't the NFL I grew up loving.:rolleyes2: -- Al

The hypocrisy of the NFL owners is astounding. They are forced to take some actions in response to concerns about player safety. So they implement a lot of woke rules to the game. But then they extend the schedule to 17 games! The worst possible action imaginable if player safety was a real concern. They should have gone back to the old 14 game schedule. Seventeen NFL games is a recipe for disaster for players. Bottom line: the money is all that matter to owners and players. The rest is just PR.

What with fantasy league crap and the hyped aspect of gambling now running the NFL, I'm surprised that they even still play live games. It will all be computerized eventually, with crowds going to the stadiums just to watch huge screens, (pretty close to that now, I gather). Who needs live action? -- Al

Going to be a long season if the Ravens can't improve on that so called performance last night...in short terms...the team played awful fromm offense to defense to coaching....oh and the Chefs this Sunday 🙄🙄🙄

starting off really bad...
lost to NE...
4 starters won't be available to play this week...

giant blow to defense...
Demarcus Lawrence...their best pass rusher out 6-8 weeks with broken foot...that's huge...
Randy Gregory...second best pass rusher placed on Covid exempt after testing positive (asymptomatic)...
so no pass rush this week...or last week either as they recorded no sacks on Brady...

on offense...
Michael Gallup...wide receiver out with calf strain...that's significant...they use him a lot...843 yards last year...
La'el Collins...right tackle out for 5 games for failing to go to susbstance abuse testing...

that's 4 starters off the roster this week...
uuugh...Cowboys...
I know it's only week 2...but it feels like the season is falling apart already...
let the nightmare begin...^&grin

Sorry to harp on ESPN and NFL Network pundits but I couldn’t help but laugh when one on each network pointed out that many teams in the league started off at 0-1.

They each further went on to say there were so many teams who were 0-1 that they couldn’t keep count.

Ok, I am going to guess it is half the league or more precisely, 16 teams.

The Rams managed to pull a game out against the Colts despite one of the biggest bonehead special teams plays in recent memory. They are punting from their own end zone but a guy lines up behind the long snapper. The snap hits him and deflects into the EZ where the Colts recover. The guy who was hit by the snap continued downfield like some type of glitching robot apparently not able to comprehend that if the snap hits you and bounces away into the end zone that it is unlikely there will be any punt return to cover. Stafford is a stud though. He brought the Rams back like a champ. If Goff were in that position, he would have choked. If Stafford can stay healthy, the Rams are going to be good.

The Patriots won today, but their offensive line is terrible, they are going to get Jones killed, their defensive line is bad as well, the Jets torched them for well over 100 yards rushing.

I am dialing down my expectations for the this year, 9-8 and 3rd place in the division.

Meanwhile Brady threw 5 TD passes today 2 to that oaf Gronk, the same guy who retired because he didn't want to end up in a wheelchair.

Tampa's defense if they do not pressure the QB is not very good, but Brady will score a million points this year, so what does it matter.

Next weekend in LA could be a preview of the NFCCG, should be interesting to see what happens.............

Might be a little early to write them off but I don't think the Baltimore defense is going to worry anyone this year, based on what I've seen in these first two games. -- Al

"well alright...alright...alright...Cowboys won't get shut out this year..."
Mathew McConaughey...

I'll take a win against the Chiefs all day but the Ravens have some serious problems on defense, long season but.....Brady and the Bucs continue to look great, Raiders 2--0 😳

I watched that game...
didn't think the Ravens D looked that bad...
Mahomes gotta be one of the top 2-3 QBs in the NFL...
actually KC's defense gave up more yards than the Ravens did...
Ravens got 250 on the ground...240 in the air...almost 500 yards of offense...
Jackson can't throw for sheeeet...
but he is difficult to defend...
like a faster...craftier Michael Vick...almost impossible to solo tackle in the middle of the field...got those "juke moves" down...
drives defenses crazy...

Aaron Donald is a destroyer of worlds. He has blown up more QBs with clean hits than any other defensive player in recent history. He rolled Wentz up like a pretzel in this game. He jumped on Alex Smith in his first game back after a terrible leg injury without mercy. He is one of the few defensive players that doesn't hold back on hitting Brady. He threw him to the turf like a rag doll in the Super Bowl. Should be a great game. The Rams beat them like a drum last year in Tampa. After that game, I would never have dreamed the Bucs had a chance to win the SB.

We'll see what the Tompa offense can do against that all world defense, I'm not worried about the Rams scoring on Tompa's defense, unless they pressure the QB, they are in big trouble, their secondary is a hot mess.

The weapons Brady has at his disposal are insane; oh and SO, SO glad Gronkowski is not in a wheelchair like he feared he'd be if he kept playing, so he retired.................SO glad he's ok and is able to light up the league again after a year off down in Tampa.
