N.F.L. 21-22 Season (1 Viewer)

There is almost nothing in sports more pathetic and pointless than the NFL preseason. A sad spectacle.

Not for the guys fighting for a spot on the team, the games are pointless as far as wins/losses and I'm glad they have been limited to 3 games, but it's also good to get a look at your 2nd, 3rd string , special team players.

I love regional coverage of the pre-season games.

I got the Niners broadcast last night.

The Chargers were called for a delay of game and the broadcasters went off on the third string QB saying he should know better.

The next series the Niner's third QB did the same thing. The broadcasters said it was ok, after-all he was knew to snap counts.

Another big fan fight at the Steelers game. A TKO of one guy who went down like Sonny Liston. His wife was a gamer throwing the first blow to start the fight and then going for a kung fu kick after her husband was knocked out.

Entertaining fight but not neatly as good as the one between Cubs and White Sox fans a few years ago. That guy did go down like a house of cards.

Yes, he pushed her but it was her reaction that turned it into a full fledged melee. Wonder what they were arguing about. The police are supposed to be investigating. If any of them are season ticket holders future games could be interesting. I’m sure alcohol helped fuel the fight.

I liked how he calmly took his glasses off before opening a can of whoop arse. That was pretty ugly, though, the way the guy's head snapped back. It was lights out. Imagine the poor cops having to sort this out.

Yeah, it's great watching the no name scrubs play, especially for the season ticket holders who pay full price to watch a bunch of guys who will be selling insurance in a month.

Biggest rip off in sports=NFL preseason games.

Don't worry, in a couple of years when the season expands from 17 to 18 games, there will only be 2 of these to have to endure.

It does give the fans an opportunity to practice beating down each other.

If NFL owners were smart, preseason game tickets would be free, given out to youth organizations, churches, YMCA's, etc, etc, to fill the stadium with kids who otherwise cannot attend are regular season game as if their Father took them, between the tickets, parking and food/drinks, it would cost the Father probably close to a grand, what working stiff can afford that?

I have to stop you at the part where you said "If NFL owners were smart." If the NFL has any redeeming quality, it is that its owners remind us that you do not need to be smart or, for that matter, have any redeeming qualities to succeed in America. In fact, the opposite is often true.

They'd much rather give them to ex-convicts, drunks and wanted felons. The NFL wants attention.

The current direction of this thread alone proves that mileage from crap goes much further than mileage from anything good.

Post something that a player, organization or fans did for the good of the community and you (might) get a few likes, post something about a fight in the stands and it gets endless responses.

Last night ESPN did a story on how the Niners use of Jimmy G. and Trey Lance via play to play and series to series was going to have a huge impact on “Fantasy Football”.

Wait, what?

It was odd that the Pats resigned Newton after he was clearly toast last season. And now they have cut him. A risky move starting a rookie QB with zero NFL experience. It almost guarantees an injury or loss of confidence. That's a ton of pressure to put on some kid.

They gave him a second chance before the draft; he had no mini camp, camp or preseason games last year, he contracted COVID too, he was a good soldier and did the best he could.

Outside of the second half vs the Seahawks, he sucked last year, got yanked in three games as a matter of fact.

Then Mac Jones landed in their lap on draft day, the perfect QB for the "Brady system" they have run here for 20+ years.

The kid has looked good all camp long, has outplayed Newton, his stats are the best among the rookie class he was drafted in; meaningless to some extent, but still.

They were going nowhere with Cam as their QB, it's time to turn the page and see what the kid can do.

Sunday night, Cam had Bourne wide open down the sideline, but he never looked off/checked down from his first look, he forced the ball to Myers in double coverage..........INT vs a walk in TD.

That was the Cam Newton experience in a nutshell.
