N.F.L. 21-22 Season (1 Viewer)

Got to ask....what the Hell is the issue with coaches going for the first down instead of taking the three point field ??? goal??? It seems it has become the norm to " go for it" these days, then comes back to bite the *** of the coach later in the game.

How about when teams line up in a shotgun formation at the goal line or on short yardage? Or continue in a hurry up, no huddle offense when they need to milk the clock? I'm surprised more teams are not going for two after the TD. If you make the first one, you ride the extra point. If you fail, you go for it a second time and call it even. The odds must be pretty good to convert one of two.

It feels like a lot of teams have started the season 1-1 this year. There are two entire divisions in the NFC where every team is 1-1.

LOL. I noticed the 1-1 pattern while watching the scores scroll. Kept thinking to myself 'That's a lot of .500 teams' before I really took notice. A half-dozen 2-0 teams, five 0-2 teams and a whole lotta (19) teams at an early season mediocrity 1-1. Looks to me like the NFL has achieved parity... -- Al

fixed if for you.

ESPN is droning on about who would win the MVP. As I watched I wondered why they talked about an MVP this early?

Then half way through the segment they posted the current Vegas MVP odds.

The NFL used to be about fans and their favorite teams, now gamblers rule the league and more importantly the coverage.

Just about everything has gone sideways for the Rams in only two games. Injuries, suspensions, turnovers, and no running game. The one thing I learned from last season, however, is that a 17-game schedule is a marathon. Get to the playoffs healthy.

Kyler Murray threw almost 60 passes yesterday against the Rams but not a single TD. The worst offseason moves are the Broncos trading the farm for Russell Wilson and the Cards re-signing Murray to a massive contract. Great week for my Rams, though. The only winner in their division.

Reports are breaking from multiple sources that Ravens' players were mocking Mac Jones after he suffered what was thought to be a fractured leg, making fun of him screaming in pain and hopping off the field on one leg.

What a classless pack of *******s, gang members in football uniforms is more like it.

Disgusting, starts from that piece of **** head coach and works its way down the organization.

You got that right. Truly a scumbag organization. They’re the only team with a statue of a murderer outside their stadium.

Not to beat on them, but I am surprised Harbaugh still has his job. Living around here, the owner never looks happy with him. I do think there is a culture there that is unsportsmanlike and very entitled. It is not about being good (which they usually are) and people being jealous, it is the way they carry themselves on and off the field. That comes from the Coach more than anybody. Every time he makes a mistake, he blames someone else, he has created a culture where they think they are always the victim, in that it breeds never taking responsibility for a big play (ie its the official's fault). These are just my opinions and most of my local buddies would not agree, although there are a quite a few who do. Again, in my opinion, the owner keeps Harbaugh b/c honestly, I don't see a better coach out there riight now. Harbaugh is competitive, hard to argue with that. And furthermore, there are some pretty first class individuals who played and play for the Ravens, they are not all jerks. Ed Reed was always a favorite, I thought he was one of the best field defensive generals to ever play and I always thought he played fair and hard all the time. There are others.

Ray Lewis - IMO and my honest thoughts, I don't think he was guilty of murder. I do think he was there and I think he was guilty of obstruction because he would not say what happened, he should have done the right thing from the get go and cooperated. I also think in today's NFL, he would have never played another down and maybe that is appropriate. They are supposed to be role models and there are a lot of offenses where there should be no second chance IMO.

Regarding second chances, Big Ben benefitted from that too. I think in today's NFL, he would have had a hard time with his early behavior. That said, he was not convicted of any crime in the least and at the end of the day, that should rule the day. I believe Ray actually had a plea bargain.

TD

Mocking someone who's injured is as low as it gets, his career in theory could be over if the injury is severe enough, like Eagles fans mock cheering the great HOF player Michael Irvin as he was carted off the field, that neck injury ended his career.

Reports are high ankle sprain with ligament damage, he's out 12 weeks, might need surgery, so in effect, his season is over.

Call bullshit on your report George, or where ever you heard the reports, I haven't seen one thing about any Ravens celebrating his injury ?? I even went on line to see any reports of this as it would be a juicy story for news outlets, nada..nothing...if you watch the play he gets up and limps to his bench. the play was a interception and players were involved in that not making fun of Jones..if there is evidence of what you say happened please share as I like to know...was a good game with lots of plays for both teams, and didn't see any bad sportsmanship at all.

You boys are brutal... scumbag organization, thugs, head coach piece of ****, owner sucks...I get you fine gents don't like the Ravens but I could be just as nasty but I choose to keep it about the game...but don't mind me, plenty members here to pile on..as George says plenty..keep it classy forum mates.

Tom E Curran, Patriots beat writer;

"Mac's injury has been memed all over and the Ravens players were apparently **** talking him and laughing at him after the game.

The feeling I got last season was that Mac was such a leader, and everyone was impressed (it’s why Cam was let go so fast) with him. He was at the pro bowl and dancing and everyone was loving him.

His injury is being mocked by Ravens fans (who I admit are not a classy bunch).

But it’s weird how different the perception of MAC JONES is this year. Not sure if it’s just a small early season sampling mixed with playing 3 teams in a row that hate the Patriots or what.

I took a break from here for awhile as I offended some people with the trash talking, which in truth I did take things a bit far, one of the most highly respected members here read me the riot act (and righfully so as he was completely right) I dialed it back, I learned my lesson.

I don't like players mocking an injured player, I wouldn't like it if a Patriots player did it, these guys for the most part have short careers.

Keep it classy fellas.

I pulled up your reporter's Twitter and report page, not a word about Raven players making fun of Jones, no where?? Nor on any other NFL page, now if it were a bunch of Ravens fans in the stands that's a different story as fans at any stadium these days are obnoxious....and that's all stadiums.

Now to be fair there were exchanges back and forth between Jones and Ravens Patrick Queen who is a LSU mam and those 2 have some bad blood...I guess after Jones walk in touchdown he had a few words for Queen.. then Queen had a Sack on Jones and repaid the favor, but I still haven't seen 1 word of any Ravens celebrating or laughing about Jones's injury...if I'm wrong that I'll certainly admit it as you said there is nothing good about anybody getting hurt to use as a celebratory victory

That came to me from someone who saw it on a Patriots forum; fans are fans, if they were in the stands trash talking, that's their right, they pay the money to be there, I've got no problems with fans talking trash, you win the game, you get to talk trash.

Apparently Jones is a bigtime trash talker and the Ravens did not like it, so they mocked him when he got hurt as payback.

A guy who's been in the league for less than 1.5 years has no business talking trash to anyone anywhere at any time, period.

If it's Tom Brady, that's a different story.

If they were mocking him because he was trash talking, you get what you give; that said, I still don't like it, these guys on average have short careers, one hit and that's all she wrote.

Curran is the same guy who said Belichick loves Lamar Jackson.

LOVES him.

The Patriots have 50 million of cap space coming off the books next year.

And Jackson is a free agent.

Just sayin.

Man would that be sweet; I'd buy season tickets the day it happens.

As pointed out, Jones was doing a lot of trash talking, which IMO he has no business doing.....................not at this stage, he's done nothing in this league.

Those who talk last get the last laugh and the Ravens certainly did on Sunday.

He needs to pipe down, period.

Several years ago Gronkowski got into it a with a Bills player, went off on the guy and speared him with some half baked WWE move, super dirty, Mike Miller and I talked about it............that was it for me, never was a fan of his after that, blatant intent to injure, not cool, not going to cheer for a guy like that.

Period.
