Jimmy G. is done for the year with the Niners after breaking his foot. The Niners are the least QB dependent team in the league, though. With their defense and skill players, all the QB has to do is not screw up.

Calling him made of glass is unfair.

Mother of God is he injury prone, which is a shame as that team is loaded and was my NFC Super Bowl pick, right behind Dallas.

Baker Mayfield going to the Niners would have been scary. He is a more talented QB than Jimmy G. He would have fit in nicely there.

Tough year for QBs. The Niners have lost two for the season. The Rams have lost Stafford and now have played four QBs this season. The Ravens are without Jackson. And on and on. The 17-game schedule is ridiculous. The Rams played 21 games last year.

And now Murray is done for the season with Cards. So in the NFC West three of the four teams have lost their starting QB for the season. The Niners have lost their top two QBs for the season. And there are still four games to go just in the regular season.

Great game today as the Colts choked away the largest lead in the history of the NFL. Colts led 30-0 at the half and 33-0 before the Vikings finally scored. The Vikes just won the game in OT, capping the 33 point comeback, 39-36. Nice job Vikes, but a much nicer choke job by the Colts.{sm3} Part of the irony in this game is that the recently fired Colt head coach, Frank Reich, was author of the former biggest comeback win when he lead the Bills to a 32 point comeback over the Oilers in 1993. Great game. A lot of similarities to the Vikings OT win against the Bills. Poor Matt Ryan. The epic Super Bowl choke with Atlanta and now this.

From today forward, whenever a Pop Warner, High School, College or NFL head coach addresses his team after a loss, he'll be able to say "Well fellas, today was a tough loss, very tough, but let's try keep things in perspective; at least it's not as bad as the time the Patriots lost to the Raiders on December 18th, 2022".........................

And not for nothing, but this league is a joke now. We’ve all watched this league for a long time and the NFL has conditioned us to not remember or know what a catch is.

It’s absolutely stupid and I’m tired of watching games be decided on calls they can’t even get correct on replay.

Three weeks ago vs the Vikings, Hunter Henry scored a TD that was ruled a TD on the field, then replay overturned it; this week, a Raider CLEARLY is out of bounds, it's ruled a TD on the field, replay confirms it's a TD.

This league has become a parody of itself and it's pathetically sad.

What’s the point of it now? To me, replay seems to be used as to discredit a correct call instead or sticking with and confirming the correct call. It’s backwards.

Can’t even imagine being a player or coach where you put in the work all week and have some bullshit like that happen.

That replay call shocked me. It didn't even look close on the replay yet it was called a TD. Just plain terrible. Then that call was upstaged by the final play. What a day. Now, where did I put the 1960's and the real NFL? -- Al

Some bizarre games this weekend. The last time a defense scored a game winning TD on the last play of the game was 1960! Only 62 years. Mac Jones wanted nothing to do with that tackle. He bailed out like he had an appointment. Game over. Hopefully Belicheat didn't draw that one up like the old put Gronk out on defense to cover the Hail Mary.

Given the subjective nature of many of the PI calls, I like the college football rule that it is only a 15-yard penalty instead of spot of the foul. Some of those calls are game changers. Like holding, there are obvious calls but then you could also call holding or PI on almost every play if you wanted. Many of these games are decided on those kinds of calls just depending on when the ref decides to throw the flag.

They got the benefit last week from an even worse Steeler team who snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with 3 ints on potential scoring drives and a blocked fg.

B. The Patriots - enuff said, that was literally the most idiotic and I don't even know the words to describe that final play.

C. LA Chargers vs. Tennessee Titans - supposed 2 bright spots in the league............scuse me? That must have been a marketing mistake by the NFL. Not commenting on talent, but these are 2 of the worst teams to execute a gameplan. They stink, really no other word for that game.


I am tired of typing; I am sure there are at least 7 other examples and comments to make on this weekend's games. Ok, good news is College Football bowl games have started, let me check my listings to avoid the NFL Outhouse of Product.

The trouble with the replay rule is that it requires clear evidence to overturn the call on the field. So a lot of questionable calls get upheld just because it is not absolutely clear they got it wrong. The absolute worst case for having a presumption in favor of the call on the field is a fumble. The refs often don't blow the whistle on a fumble and allow the play to go on because it can be reviewed on replay, but because they decide not to blow the whistle even if they think it wasn't a fumble there is a presumption created that it is a fumble. The call on the field shouldn't override the replay decision. The replay will get a better look 9 times out of 10 with six different slow-motion cameras than a real time call. The replay should get the presumption unless they conclude they don't have a view that allows them to make the call.
