N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (1 Viewer)

Gilmore tested positive.

Another Titan has tested positive.

One of the Raiders has tested positive.

This thing is going to come off the rails.

But the games still go on.

Yeah, the league is really concerned about player safety.

They're concerned about money and greed.

It falls on the players too. Apparently a bunch of Titans players got together on their own accord and held a workout at a local high school after the team and league closed their facilities.

My Rams are the longshot on the LA triple crown this year but are 3-1 and one questionable PI call from 4-0. Of course the three teams they beat have a total of 2 wins this season. And they get Dirty Dan's Deadskins this weekend. What a great year to draw the NFC east on your schedule! "Country Club" Goff continues to frighten me though. The Rams have gone to a short passing game - and I mean real short as in less than 4 yards per throw - to cover for him. He can go into a major funk under any pressure. That ugly win over the Giants was the stuff of 2019. It didn't inspire confidence.

The NFL season seems to be on the brink.

Without a bubble and huge rosters compared to other sports they can’t keep the virus in check.

Plus, the constant talk without any actual enforcement or punishment from the front office all but encourages a general ignoring of the rules.

Fines are useless for teams that are a part of a multi billion dollar industry.

You are underestimating the greed of the NFL owners. They would play on for an extra dollar if an asteroid was hurling toward Earth to end all life as we know it.

People were saying the same when the Marlins had all those cases and people were acting like Apollo’s priestess Cassandra but MLB and the players managed to get it under control. It’s up to the players to work to control this.

Brad:

Great post.

Tough day for the defending NFC and AFC champs. Niners are getting absolutely rolled by the lowly Dolphins and the Chiefs were torched by the Raiders. With Pats in complete collapse it is wide open this year. My favorite moment of the day though was watching the postgame meltdown by the local Deadskins media after another awful beatdown. Alex Smith is a great comeback story but he has absolutely no business putting himself at further risk. He should retire tomorrow. That was brutal and scary to watch. Dirty Danny needs to stage and intervention and tell him to call it good.

That Dak injury was beyond gruesome, he might be done until 2022...........or forever.

What a violent sport it really is.

"With the Pats in complete collapse".................um, what?

They're 2-2 and they lost last week to the Chefs with their second and third string QB's out there.

Neck and neck race in the NFC East. Cowboys in 1st at 2-3, followed by the Eagles at 1-3-1, the Redskins at 1-4, and the mighty Giants at 0-5. What a broken toilet of a conference. What has happened to the conference with the most SB wins (13) in the NFL? -- Al

wish I could say Dallas will be okay...
with some conviction...
but with 9 starters out...
including Dak...
Andy Dalton will not get the job done on offense...

Yes, already two games down to the Bills with the short order cooks from Wendy's playing at QB. Chiefs, Steelers, Bills, Raiders all playing at another level. Cam with the virus. Nothing to worry about there.

Cam will be back in time for the Denver game next Sunday.

The Chefs lost today and have looked mediocre this year.

The Patriots already beat the Raiders.

The Bills will find a way to be the Bills.

The Steelers have played the march of the tomato cans.

I'm not worried about a thing a whopping four games into the season.

Are you done trolling now; go get your shine box and watch the Lakers pummel the Washington Generals for a championship.

Keep dreaming. It's over in Cheatriot land. Shady is gone. Belicheat won't be around much longer. The Pats will not win another SB in our lifetime.

It is really difficult to tell how good any teams are at this point because there are so many bad and mediocre teams this year.

On Sunday there was only one match up that featured 2 teams with winning records and that was the Browns vs the Colts.

Feel terrible for Dak Prescott. His brother committed suicide a few months ago, he is suffering from depression, and now this. He also seems like the rare decent celebrity athlete. Old Jerry is probably not feeling great either:

The Cowboys placed the franchise tag on Prescott in the offseason. He will make a total of $31,409,000 this year.

they will tag him again for next year at 37 million...
wish they could get him some defense...
he's going through what Romo went through during his career...
you gotta put up big numbers to win with that defense...
which they haven't had since Deon left...

Not watching this crapshow other than the box scores. I may watch next week if the only reason is to see if the Steelers can open a can of whup on that chump Garrett for the Browns. Would love to see an O-line Double Team to knock that punk out. I still believe that jerk has no business being in the NFL , he is a loose cannon waiting to explode and severely injure someone on another team or his own. The guy has obvious mental and temper issues and needs professional help.

Defense is all but irrelevant and impossible to play in the modern NFL.

The Seahawks are 5-0 for the first time in their franchise history and they currently have the second best odds to win the Super Bowl according to many odds makers. At the same time they are all on pace to give up over 7,500 yards, the most by one team in history while ranking last in the NFL in total team defense.

R.I.P. 49er Hall of Famer Fred Dean.

One of my first memories of the Niners was a radio spot where the station played the Jaw’s theme followed by an announcer’s call of one of his sacks.
