N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (2 Viewers)

Whoever plays the Chiefs in the playoffs had better make sure to dress the part.

They need to wear 7th cavalry uniforms.

If they don't win the Super Bowl, I'll be stunned.

Do you have any stock picks?

You could see that one coming a mile away. Almost no team goes 0-16. The Rams haven't won three games in a row this entire year and have a huge game next weekend. So the classic trap game. I'm surprised they lost but not that they didn't cover with "Country Club" Goff pulling his usual choke job. The humorous thing is that they can still win the division if they win the next two games.

If the Chiefs win this game, they will have won something like 22 out of the last 23 games. But the AFC is stacked with hot teams. I think the Browns and Bills have a shot. TN is a tough playoff matchup for anyone with Henry running like a bull. The Steelers are in a funk but their D is tough. It reminds me of last year when the Ravens went into the playoffs as the unbeatable team.

The Chiefs are both good and lucky, it's quite a combination.

If that imbecile on the Saints falls on that fumble in the end zone vs it going out of the end zone, the Saints win.

Mahomes half the time just heaves the ball up for grabs and it magically lands into the hands of a Chief.

I have no idea how under the salary cap they can afford Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, Watkins and have a decent defense, it defies logic.

Green Bay/Rodgers is really the only team that has a shot of beating them.

My take:

Chiefs seem to have the magic to win, they pull out wins when they should not but they are doing it with skill, talent and a gameplan. They are going to be hard to beat. Bills may give them a run, maybe. Steelers..........where do you start, they are in a bad place at the wrong time of the season. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball but right now the execution is very suspect and sometimes not present at all. Cases in point - they screwed around against the Redskins and lost in the end, plenty of chances to run away and seal that game, they didn't. Ok, there they got shocked, it happens. Next week - Bills - they played good football for about 23 minutes, then they disappeared and looked irrelevant the rest of the game and got beat easily. That is not a championship football team. They need to tune up against Cincy then finish strong to have any chance and I don't mean wins, i mean they need to go back to mistake free execution to have any chance in the playoffs.

NFC - Green Bay is good, will have to see how they hold up. Rams have a good D but they have issues in Goff. Who knows, its a whacky year.

Goff reminds me of former NE Patriots QB Tony Eason; out of Illinois, he was an up and comer, cool as ice, guided the Patriots to a Super Bowl vs the Bears..................and then he fell off a cliff...........that game wrecked him, sometimes the moment is too big for a QB..................I hope Goff does not bottom out, but he's clearly not the same QB now as he was before that game vs the Patriots, some QB's like that Stooge Foles play out of their mind/way above their pay grade, others get intimidated by the spotlight and fizzle out............we'll see.

this is a weird game tonight....
like "Bizzaro World"...
maybe Ben will snap out of it in the second half...
but they don't look like the same team that was...

right now 5-13 for -2 yards...
26 yards on the ground with 4 minutes left in the half...

they won their first 11 now...
now lost 2 in a row...
and behind by 17 now...

the line was Pitt -14 1/2...

what's going on????

I would agree with you, something is screwed up in Pittsburgh and I don't think its Ben. I have heard from my Aunt there that the last 4 weeks has been large frustration at Receivers - specifically Smith Schuster and Ebron with the constant drops and fumbles. I also heard that Conner is a real issue and is being blamed as unreliable causing a lack of consistency in the run game. There is also a rumor floating that if they implode, there will be some surprising cuts on the offensive side of the ball.

I don't know what's wrong, but I guess part of it is the inconsistent scheduling caused by COVID, ever since that Ravens debacle game, they have looked off. Something went wrong on the ship and they can't seem to correct it. I see them imploding and going out.

I have heard the comments on dropped balls more than once...

but no worries...
the world has been corrected...^&grin

Tomlin must have figured something out...
or else motivated them in the locker room...

Tomlin is Hall of Fame coach and a great motivator but even his resume can’t seem to overcome 2020.

The Steelers haven’t been the same since their schedule was turned upside down by the Ravens’ COVID issues.

I didn't see the second half but the first half was fugly for the Steelers. The commentators mentioned something about the Steelers dancing on the Bengals logo before the game. That seemed to light a fire for Cincy. I'm guessing that they don't do that anymore.

Lot of truth to this these statements. It is just turning into as George puts it a dumpster fire. They are snakebit and can't seem to fix it consistently and now it is affecting Ben. As I said, if I am a betting man, the receiver corps will be different next year. My prediciton - Connor (RB) cut, JuJu (WR) cut (unless he is still under contract which I have to look), James Washington (WR) cut, Eric Ebron (TE) cut, he has been a disaster on key drops. That is a lot of underperforming talent I just mentioned. I would not be surprised if they don't win again this year.

Goff has badly regressed. I remember that MNF game a couple years ago and the shootout with the Chiefs where Goff was throwing lasers to his receivers fifty years down field and winning that shootout with Mahomes. He looked like a world beater. Just a few weeks later the Bears shut him down and he has never been the same. The Rams O-line hasn't helped. They are awful. They have no run game. The D and a few skill players make them competitive but not a championship caliber team.

Well the thing is the Steelers have an incredible knack to find and develop WR's, the list is pretty long, whoever their scout is deserves a raise.

Ben said he wants to come back next year, we'll see how the Steelers feel about that.

I have to wonder sometimes if situations like this are due to coaching, not sure who the QB coach/OC is, but I was under the assumption their head coach is a very good offensive mind, I'll defer to you on that one.

Look at the Jets coach; he supposedly is very good with QBs, yet Tannehill was a disaster in Miami, he leaves and goes to Tennessee and wins the job/forces Mariotta out and now he's led the Titans to back to back playoff appearances, also look as how badly Darnold has been, he was supposedly the next big thing, he's a hot mess................................Wentz was great in Philly, got hurt and hasn't been the same, he's out now and Hurts is their QB ,what a disaster that contract was.

If anything McVay has saved Goff's arse by revamping the entire offense to go to a short quick passing game. Goff can't throw the ball accurately beyond ten yards and if he gets any pressure he can't throw it within twenty yards of a receiver. He is a turnover machine. McVay's only mistake is that he is a player's coach and can't make the tough decision to bench Goff. They are buds.

I gotta be honest, if I was Ben, after the support his receivers have given him, I would sail into the sunset and await the HOF call. I know he wants another trip to the SB, but the defense may have given him that chance but his O specialists have let him down. They just fell off a cliff, never seen anything like it honestly. I mean if you contrast his TD pass to the rookie Claypool last night that was i guess a 35 yard rocket that spiderman caught in stride to the 10 maybe that bounced off everyone elses numbers, it is incredulous. On top of that, his Oline took the night off, he just looked out of sorts and pissed like *** moment on National TV. Unfortunately the proverbial hole dug proved too much and again, the specialists disappeared as if on cue late 3rd qtr. Kind of like a one armed man in a butt kicking contest, no win. I just have not seen something like this, its ugly. Ju Ju looks like he should have never been drafted, it appears like they don't even cover him anymore due to his dropitis.

I heard yesterday on ESPN that Wentz wants to be traded if they are gonna sit him...
BIG MONEY and lousy stats...
good luck with that...

I know Tennessee is a good but I had no idea that they lead the league in total offensive points with 436, the catch in that stat is that Kansas City is second with 435 and Green Bay is third with 434.

Henry probably has most of those points. He is a man among boys. I haven't seen a dominant back like him in years. An Earl Campbell type. No defender wants any part of him in the second half. "No mas" as Roberto Duran once said. A great old school playoff weapon.
