N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (1 Viewer)

to give you guys an idea of what the experts think...
the Las Vegas opening odds on the game are...
TB at Washington...
TB is a 7 1/2 to 8 point favorite...

I would be embarrassed to wear a cap that said...

"7-9 Cowboys...Division Winner"...^&grin

Al...

earlier I said I would be embarrassed to win the East and wear a hat with the winning record...7-9...
I wouldn't have been...and you should be happy that Washington did win the division...
I would have been if the Cowboys won...
that division was terrible this year...

but with the exception of Philly...
almost all the teams were decimated with injuries...

Dallas played a 4th string QB in one game...
lost all of their All Pro O-line...
Collins...Frederick...Martin and Smith...
the replacements were terrible...
killed the pass protection and run blocking...

every team in the East was beat up...
Washington survived...
kudos to you...I would be proud if I were you...for real...
you did the best with what you had...

and Washington has a pretty good defense...
they might make Tom Terrific work for it...

Thanks, Mike. Being a Redskin fan, we take what we can get and are thankful, even if Philly did tank. I hold little hope we can do well against Brady and company. Our offense is simply too skimpy and our defense, while decent, simply hasn't faced anyone of Brady's caliber. I fear he will just shoot us to pieces as he pleases. As usual this season, all depends on Alex Smith's health. He is hurting, rather immobile, and that doesn't bode well for the Redskins. We shall see on Saturday, hope springs eternal, I and I do believe in Sandy Claws, but I still won't bet my TS budget on the Redskins.:wink2: -- Al

All these games are great but I think we are all but assured of a Kansas City vs. Green Bay Super Bowl.

Browns coach Stefanski has tested positive and is out for their playoff game this weekend.

No big deal, he's only also their offensive coordinator, ie, the guy who calls the plays.

But you just keep pushing forward NFL.........................

Is that the playoff game on Nickelodeon? Maybe they can turn him into a cartoon character or have Sponge Bob call plays.

Will they allow a play caller to be on a call or equivalent with acting coordinator?

Will they allow a play caller to be on a call or equivalent with acting coordinator?

Considering this is a league that fined a player for wearing red and green cleats for a Christmas game, I'll go out on a limb and say no.

No, same rules as college, if you are invalid for COVID, no contact. I think it has to do along same lines as cell phone usage, etc. No outside access.

So the Browns are down both their head coach and the offensive coordinator for the game then.

That seems fair.

George,
You know my feelings on this. They all agreed to the same rules in order to get this season off the ground and the rules are clear. If you recall Nick Saban at Alabama had 2 scares and both times he was not allowed anywhere near the game on gameday.

To me this is what it is. The entire season is a screw up, as a Steelers Fan I can argue that COVID cost us a bye week and then the Ravens debacle screwed up our rhythm, maybe caused injuries due to schedules not kept, etc. Every team in the league has to face the same issue. Next week it could be the Steelers.

I do and still strongly believe that the incidents (Titans and Ravens) where the COVID rules were violated should suffer severe consequences. I mean when I look back and see the price the Patriots paid for their issues, seems to me consequences and punishments are due several teams.

It was idiotic to try to play a contact sport in the middle of a pandemic and as the playoffs approach, it still is, even more so.

In light of the situation, they need to be more flexible, how can you tell the Browns "Yeah, your coach who's also the quasi OC cannot have any contact, period"............that's beyond moronic.

They should have enough brains to understand this is unprecedented and make allowances.....................

It's idiotic, but what else should I expect from a league run by a complete and utter moron.

It seems like there should be a way to isolate a coach but still allow him to participate with all the available forms of communications.

pretty simple...if they wanted to...
put him in a clear covered golf cart on the sideline with a phone link to his booth...

put him in an isolated...
elevated booth on his 50 yard line...
with the same communication system they use now...

like the Marine's slogan...adapt and overcome...

He tested positive and under CDC guidelines, should not be going anywhere, period.

The Browns are going to have to figure it out; at least it did not happen the day before the game, so they have time to work out something.

I have to be honest, I am back to how I was in the beginning of this season, will cursory pay attention, but I am not scheduling my weekend to watch this crap product. Honestly, the play on the field is crap in most cases and is understandable with the lack of practice and consistency. Or maybe between everything that has gone down with pro sports, I am in the category of I just don't care. I can't decide and haven't taken the time to do so!!
