N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (3 Viewers)

Yesterday was the 54th anniversary of Super Bowl I, Green Bay vs. Kansas City.

My bet is we see a repeat of that game in this year’s Super Bowl.

My picks for this weekend:

Green Bay 27 Rams 13 - I would love to see the Rams somehow pull this one but long experience of playoff road games in these artic climates leads me to conclude it won't happen. The Rams D will give them a shot but I can't see an injured Goff or backup playing in only his third NFL game going into that hostile climate and outdueling Rodgers. Just not enough points to pull it out unless they get a D or special teams TD.

Buffalo 30 Baltimore 24 - The Ravens played great D last week but except for a couple runs by "Small Game" Lamar they didn't impress me much. Jackson has a long history of choking in big games. The Bills can score points.

KC 41 Cleveland 20 - This is a beatdown in the making.

NO 38 Tampa 17 - The Saints are just the better team.

Doug...
you took all the favorites to cover the spread...
unlikely...
but I'm going the same way...
hate to bet against Brady...
he's been my most consistent winner to cover the spread for years...

the Rams defense scares me...
Lamar Jackson is the "X factor"...
KC has been getting off to very slow starts lately before pulling away...
and again...hate to bet against Brady...
but I'm taking all the chalk today...no dogs...

Cooper Kupp is out today...................that sucks.

No hope with an injured Donald. They didn't lay a hand on Rodgers all game. The #1 D gave up 500 yards. Time to trade Goff to any team dumb enough to take him on. Not impressed by the Packers though. They have a soft D.

not too soft tonight...
allowed 96 on the ground and 174 passing...
but yea...
Donald no showed and had only 1 tackle...
no pressure from LA's D...

Packers looked pretty good and the better team tonight and in the playoffs that is all that matters. Congratulations Packers!

watched the Bills and the Ravens...
announcer said it was 4-8 mph winds...
those stadium flags were flipping like it was 30-40 mph winds...
field goal kickers went 2-6 on attempts...

Allen wasn't very accurate on his passing either...
overthrew 2 open receivers for easy TD's...

Jackson looked worse...to go along with all the sacks he took...
Bill's pass rush and his inaccuracy held him in check...
kind of a sloppy game...

Buffalo had 32 yards rushing...
unbelievable someone can win with that stat...

kudos to Buffalo...
we went 2-0 on those Doug...

The Browns have no chance against the Chiefs so please start the predictions related to Kansas City vs. Buffalo in the AFC Championship game.

The Bills can’t beat the Chiefs, despite what the pundits say.

They have no running game and their lack of controlling the clock will be costly against KC.

Ugly game, we turned it off and went with Star Wars Return of the Jedi in prep for a Mandalorian Marathon. Game was boring honestly, hard to watch. Jackson is back to not knowing what to do when behind, then he took a sack where it wasnt the hit necessarily but the momentum with hitting the ground apparently caused a concussion. Bills looked off too, but they had enough flashes to win the game, one drive on offense and then a big interception return.

If the Chiefs play their game, they are in the Super Bowl. Back to the NFC, Green Bay was very tactical and I thought did what they had to do to win, it was a well coached game on their side, I think that playbook beats either the Saints or the Bucs especially at home. 2 very warm weather teams and one an indoor one. I don't see them executing well in Green Bay.

Long story short, it would appear an epic rematch in the SB is in the making. State Farm insurance is sure hoping!:)

Jackson reminds me of a Michael Vick prototype...
yes...he is fast...yes...he can make something out of nothing in a jam sometimes...
but if you can't throw the ball accurately...
I don't think you are going to be successful in today's NFL...

one of the announcers said he looked like the ball on pinball machine out there...
the guy is a talented scrambler and nobody can catch him...
but I don't think that's enough...

KC held Cleveland to 18 yards rushing in the 1st half...
that's strong!
I didn't know they had a run defense...

but Buffalo won yesterday with 32 total yards rushing...
so maybe Cleveland has them right where they want them...^&grin

The drive
The fumble
The move
The touchback

Yet another chapter in Browns buffoonery.............Mahomes gets his bell rung and they still lose to the corpse of Chad Henne.

Sadsacks.

The Browns played with a lot of moxie. There should have been a penalty on the fumble into the end zone. A text book example of a defender hitting a guy with his helmet. Mayfield and Garrett (the $150 million man) played to win. I give them credit. Gutsy call by Andy Reid going for it on 4th down with his backup QB. If something goes wrong there and the Chiefs lose the game, he would be grilled for eternity. But it worked.

"they come to kill the rooster...but he ain't gonna die"...
Alice in Chains...

Tom Brady did enough to move forward...
TB defense was spot on tonight...

OLD GUYS RULE!

Call me a sentimentalist, but I could live with a SB I replay between KC and Green Bay, as long as KC wins this time.:wink2: Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tampa and Buffalo get in. Anyway this goes we're going to be treated to a superior QB face-off. -- Al

It remains to be seen whether Mahomes can play. The Chiefs got away with playing Henne for a quarter but for a whole game? That could be the question.

Brees was awful. He didn't get much help from this team. Tampa played that game with a chip on their shoulder. You never want to play a team that you blew out. It usually comes back to bite you. Tamps has gone further than I expected but the end is near.

Green Bay vs KC should be what happens, but who knows. I thought the first report I saw on Mahomes was it was more like he got choked out and not necessarily concussed? But that would be huge if he doesn't play. Holy Smokes.
