N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (4 Viewers)

What a choke job by the Packers. They played scared and they were outcoached. They give up a huge TD before halftime on a defensive blunder for the ages. They only get 6 points off 3 INTs. They kick a FG with 2 minutes to go and down 8 points. 12 men on the field on crucial plays. An ugly meltdown.

Old Guard against Young guard in the SB. Should be a good one with lots of action. I, for one, wouldn't bet my money against the Old Guard.:wink2: -- Al

Yup, Green Bay really surprised me, odd time to have the wheels fall off (first half disaster). As Al said, never bet against Tom Brady. Geez. Tale of 2 halves. Green Bay just didn't complete the comeback as the defense gave them plenty to work with.

On the other side of the coin, I thought the Chiefs were superb, but there are holes and they need to play with determined execution in the Super Bowl b/c Tampa is a team that is very opportunistic on defense.

Tom

I was most surprised by Tampa's defense. The Rams couldn't touch Rodgers the entire game. He had all day to throw the ball and GB was also running it against them. Tampa sacked Rodgers something like five or more times and he was pressured throughout the game. Awful coaching didn't help. I think KC is going to roll Tampa but I thought the same thing about the Saints and Packers! Imagine the endless hype about Brady and Mahomes until they play the SB.

The real key to the game was two first and goal to go's that resulted in a whopping 6 points for Green Bay.

Going for two when they did made no sense.

They 100% should have went for it on fourth down vs kicking a FG.

And people can complain about the complaining on the DPI penalty that iced the game, but all game long they were letting the teams play, a lot of holding, mugging, grabbing, especially by Tampa, that penalty iced the game.

Call them both ways or don't call them at all.

Both of their starting safties were out of that game and Rodgers could not take advantage of that.

A huge lost opportunity, their offense came up small at the worst possible time, being down 28-10 didn't help matters.

I could have cared less who won the SB last year, I could care less who wins it this year as well.

Did Gronkowski play yesterday by the way, asking for a friend.

Tampa Bay has made it to the Stanley Cup Finals, the World Series and now the Super Bowl in the same sports calendar year.

Has any city with a minimum of 3 of the big 4 big franchises ever had all of their teams do that?

Now that I think about it, in this calendar year Florida has now had a team in all 4 major sports reach the championship in their respective sports.

I think that is the first time that has ever happened?

The bigger question is does anyone in Florida care?

The Bucs had about 27 fans prior to Brady packing his bags and doing what most older New Englanders do; move to Florida..........now they have a rabid fan base clamoring for a championship, #12 jerseys are selling faster in FL that depends and polygrip.

They've been debating all week here on sports talk radio; was it Brady all along who drove the championship bus or Belichick.................oh boy, good for Tommy, he proved that he can win without Bill.........incredible that team got to the Super Bowl with that clueless boob of a coach........just like the Giants runs in 2007 and 2011, it had more to do with the teams they played crapping themselves, look no further than the Saints and the Packers, two terrible performances at home paved the way from Brady and the Bucs to waltz to the Super Bowl.

He threw three horrible INT's in the second half and was gifted a TD late in the first half when the defender did the one thing you can't do; let the receiver get behind you, what the Hell was Green Bay doing there playing cover two with no safety help over the top when you knew the Bucs were going to take ONE shot in the end zone and if it didn't work, they'd kick a FG...........................

Wonderful.

this could really help cure some team's problems pretty quick...
franchise QB's are hard to find in the NFL...
maybe 25% of the team's have one...
definitely less than 50% of them do...

Deshaun Watson officially asked to be traded today...
I'm not a Texan's fan...not at all...
but they always have their games aired here due to local coverage...
so I watch them...
he is really the best player on their team...

they already traded away Deandre Hopkins...
JJ Watts says he's at wits end...
if they lose Watson...
they are gonna go in a tail spin...

Mike:

I am not a Texans fan either but due to geography I get a lot of their coverage.

I sincerely hope that Houston does not trade him even if that means he sits out the remainder of his contract while he racks up millions in fines for violating that same contract that is paying him an average salary of $39 mil over the next 4 years.

Jason...
both the new GM and new head coach say they are not gonna trade him...
head coach says the main reason he took the job was to play Watson...
Watson's reason for leaving was that they traded Hopkins (WR) and hired the new GM without his input...
it was in his contract that he would have a voice in both these things...
$40 million a year is a ton...that's probably what Dallas is gonna end up paying Dak...
I think Houston/Watson will work it out...
but I think there will be suitors...and plenty of offers from them...
Watson is the complete package...
young...smart...mobile...can make all the passes...his stats speak for themselves...
tough be to a good player stuck on a bad team...

Watts says he want to leave too...lol...

If his contract says he gets input and he didn’t, isn’t that a breach of contract and he can say stick it and go where ever he wants???

good point...and it seems logical...
you're the attorney...
you tell me...^&grin

Watson's displeasure...talent...and wanting to leave...
it's a big story in the NFL...
anything that can outshine SB weekend hype is big...

It depends on what the contract says about his right to have input, which is rather vague. Does that mean he needs to be consulted. Without seeing the exact terms, it’s difficult to know whether there was a breach. Secondly, if there was a breach, does that breach give him a right to terminate. Not every breach leads to a termination. Again, it depends on the terms of the agreement. In addition, if there was a breach that could lead to his right to terminate, the contract may have a right to cure. Not to be repetitive but unless you examine the contract, it’s hard to know whether there was a breach that could lead to termination.
