N.F.L. Season 2018-19 (3 Viewers)

Brees was awful. He didn't get much help from this team. Tampa played that game with a chip on their shoulder. You never want to play a team that you blew out. It usually comes back to bite you. Tamps has gone further than I expected but the end is near.

I have to think Brady wants to win this game badly to prove that he can win it without Belichick.

Yeah he looked every bit his age; two interceptions that resulted in 14 points, then a fumble that led to another touchdown.

He's probably going to retire, a lousy way to go out, but it is what it is.

Green Bay vs KC should be what happens, but who knows. I thought the first report I saw on Mahomes was it was more like he got choked out and not necessarily concussed? But that would be huge if he doesn't play. Holy Smokes.

TD

Looked like he got choked out on that tackle for sure, not sure if he got a concussion or had his air restricted which made him a bit woozy/dizzy.

If he can't go, the Chiefs are toast.

He's already proven he can win without him while Belichick can't win without him.

The Patriots/Kraft/Belichick are getting killed on drive time sports radio today by the two hosts.

"They should have done whatever they needed to do to keep him"

This from one of the hosts who's famous expression is "the salary cap is crap."

In order to keep Brady/pay him want he wanted (he wanted 30 million), they would have had to cut about half a dozen players.

So great; they keep him, gut the team and finish 7-9, just like they did with Newton, who they paid the league minimum of 1 million dollars.

Then these two bozos would be saying "What a mistake, keeping a 43 year old QB, what is Belichick thinking, what idiots."

Such trolls......................these guys constantly take the contrarian point of view to rile people up.

Reminds me what Branch Rickey said to Ralph Kiner. Ralph had just won the HR title for the Pirates (which he did six years in a row) and he went to see about a raise. Rickey said no and told him “Ralph, we finished last with you and we can finish last without you.”

well...
you never know how things could have turned out...
but I think the consensus will agree...
NE had Brady in his prime and it paid dividends...
I think his work habits and desire to win are contagious to TB players...
they are buying what he is selling...

while I don't personally like him...
I think BB is the best coach in the NFL and NE will prosper again with a decent QB...
if Deshaun Watson becomes available...
he would make them a contender immediately...

I wonder how much longer Edelman will last...
34 is not really that old if you have his speed...
but it's not young either...

Belichick hates the media, specifically the beat writers who cover the team, it goes back to his days as the coach of the Browns, he was nothing but nice to those guys, but they turned on him when the team announced they were moving and they took it out on him, he never forgot that and has hated the local media ever since.

Look at Bill in the tremendous 30 for 30 "The two Bills" with him and Parcells or his stories and his narrative during the 100 greatest players of all time show he did, completely different person than the guy you see on the podium after a game........................

One of his best one liners ever was at the initial press conference at the 2015 Super Bowl vs the Seahawks, some guy was fawning all over Bill, "you're the greatest coach ever, a brilliant defensive mind, a first ballot HOF coach".............so Bill says "Thanks; so do you want a job or something?"..........the whole room erupted in laughter.

As noted by my posts over the years I am a huge Brady fan.

With that being said he was average at best against New Orleans and without the turnovers that game could have gone either way.

There is no way Rodgers throws an interception let alone 3.

Green Bay is going to the Super Bowl.

I'm going bold this week and making my picks even before Mahomes status has been determined!

Bills 31 Chiefs 27 - The Bills might be a year or two away but they shock the world with a win. The Chiefs have a shot with or without Mahomes but without him or not at 100% this is a competitive game and I like Josh Allen in close one.

Green Bay 34 Tampa 20 - Rodgers is just too good. Brady has taken Tampa to the end of the line. Time to make like the Traveling Wilburys and call it a career.

you were 2-2 last week against the spread...you picked all chalk...
won both Saturday...lost both Sunday...
here you picked one chalk and one dog...
the Vegas line is GB -3 and KC -3...
once KC officially takes Mahomes off the "questionable list"...
I would expect that line to go up...
while I have loved Buffalo all year...
KC -3 at home seems awful low to me...
and yes...I think Brady has peaked...
but I thought that last week too...^&grin
don't know what I'm gonna do...
probably KC and GB...unless KC goes up to over 7 points...

I'm a big Packer fan, so of coarse I say go Packers, but leary of the Buccaneer defense which is what kept them in the game (three interceptions). Bills defense over the KC offense.

100% agree on Green Bay pick, but can't get behind the Bills over Chiefs. Too many weapons and the Buffalo offense looked awful except one drive. While the Ravens have a good defense, I thought a lot of it was execution. I don't think they can win a shoot out against the Chiefs.

But as always, who knows, I would have never predicted Drew Brees to have the game and luck he did on Sunday nor would I have said the Browns would have found a way Mahomes or not to stay in that game.

I never really cared for him until this year...
but Rivers at 39 announced his retirement today...
he's going to coach high school football...
kind of a shocker to me...
as he finally was on a team that afforded him some pocket protection...
going 11-5...
before getting knocked out the playoff this year by Buffalo...
after 17 years...
I'm sure his bank account is in good shape...
I watched him a couple of times this year...
when given the time he actually had a strong accurate arm...

Coach football??? Doesn’t he have enough kids to have his own team? 😉 😆

The Phillip River’s retirement seems to have rekindled the debate as to how important Super Bowl wins are when it comes to measuring greatness.

On one hand if you use the Super Bowl win as a metric Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Jeff Hostetler, Mary Rypien, Doug Williams, Nick Foles and Joe Flacco are better than Dan Marino, Dan Fouts, Jim Kelly, Warren Moon and Fran Tarkenton.

On the other hand, it means that Jim Plunkett (who isn’t in the Hall of Fame) is better than Steve Young, Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Russel Wilson and Patrick Mahomes.

Sounds like Mahomes is going to play. I'm glad the NFL is putting player safety over ratings! LOL. He looked like he had been stepped on by Godzilla last week.

Even in the midst of a pandemic the NFL still can’t lose. No matter which of the final four teams wins they have a compelling story that will lead to huge TV ratings.

If the Chiefs win they have a back to back champions (which is an absolute rarity in the NFL) if the Packers win then Rodgers finally has his second Super Bowl win, if the Bills win it will be their franchise’s first Super Bowl and if Tampa Bay wins, well that story writes itself.

So I’ll go out on a limb one more time, the Packers will beat the Buccaneers and the Chiefs will beat the Bills.

Guaranteed.

Methinks that the reports on the death of Tom Brady's deep game were premature, by a lot. Tampa is eating Green Bay alive at this point, 28-10. -- Al
